Matt Helders: When we first started, we used to ask for a novel. We didn’t get any good ones. We never read them, but they just looked crap.
Gary Coleman’s a Fan
Nick O’Malley: [On the rider] we used to ask for a cardboard cutout of a different person. We wanted Gary Coleman. They [actually] made one in England — they just got a cardboard cutout of Yoda, and stuck [Gary Coleman]’s face on. We asked for Steve Irwin, but he’s dead now, so it’s not funny.
Rock Vs. Hygiene
MH: The worst part about touring is not being able to shower as soon as you wake up. If you wake up on the bus and then you have to get dressed, it f*cks your cycle up, your day up. Get dressed, then have a shower, then get dressed again.
Chinese Food May Be Hazardous to Your Show
NO: I once had a massive Chinese meal right before we went on, and just felt terrible. Recently I needed to use the bathroom whilst on stage, so I just went the side and used a cup.
