Exclusive Bret Michaels Tracks!
Need a dose of Bret Michaels? We’ve got it right here – check out the exclusive, never-before-released track “Fallen” from Bret’s upcoming solo album Custom Built, as well as “Go To Far,” the Rock of Love theme song, and “Bittersweet,” which Bret will play to the ladies on Sunday night’s episode. We also got our boy to tell us which tune is about Rodeo, and discuss the show’s bittersweet ending… Interview after the jump.
VH1: Of all the songs in your catalog, why did you choose “Bittersweet” to play for the house?
Bret Michaels: It fits what’s going on right now – a lot of it fit what’s going on with Erin. You look at what’s going on with Lacey, what’s going on with Heather. With everything that’s going on within the context of the show, I don’t think there’s a better song to play. Everyone can relate to the lyrics, because everybody’s been in a bittersweet relationship, where they’re either the one being cheated on, or the one who is cheating. Somewhere along the line you’ve had your heart broken, and somewhere along the line you’ve fixed it, and you have a new person that you love and you can laugh when you look back at the old relationship.
VH1: Have you written any songs based on your experience on the show?
BM: Here’s what happened when I was writing the lyrics – I did this song with a friend, Jim McGorman. I started writing this song, but I didn’t have a chorus. [Jim] came in and had a chorus written from years earlier, so we melded the two songs together. Once I finished the song up and started to finish the lyrics, it was right after Rodeo left, and I was setting in the house, and all the sudden I had this feeling of what you would say to somebody. What’s going on in that moment in your life I express best when I’m setting alone writing lyrics. While we were filming, we finished the song. [The song’s] a little bit about Rodeo, and as the show went, [the song] has to do with the bittersweet ending I feel the show has.
VH1: What was the inspiration for “Go That Far”?
BM: When I was writing this song, I was going back through the stories in my life. I took those Behind the Music experiences I’ve had – everything from why you want to be a rock star, to being a rock star, the girls, the cars, the great rock moments – all that stuff.
VH1: Did you write the song specifically for the show?
BM: I wrote the song and presented it before we did the deal for the show. When the show came together, it was the first song I brought to them and said, “Just check this song out.” The only tweak we made, once they picked it up as the theme song, they wanted to put in “Rock of Love.” I don’t get to hear it enough — I only hear 15 seconds!

bret michaels is an old washed up so called rock star whose balding and a male chauvenist pig. I also think he only did these two shows for publicity. He hurt daisy badly not to mention used her for sex. amber looks goofy and old and I dont think she is as perfect like she was putting daisey down .those two I guess in the long run are made for each other. From what I can see from previews of the last show Heather is just jealous and still in love with michaels.Daisey gets hit a lot by heather bret michaels does nearly nothing to stop it.I will never watch another Rock of love show again. p.s. amber wont last I brlieve it was only a challenge on her part and probably helped her career.

I think this guy Bret Michaels is a loser of huge proportions. His show where he picks the sleaziest of all his trailer-park (`()` s is the WORST I have seen by far, the literal bottom of the heap. I’ve forced myself to watch it (for about 15 minutes), and I cannot stomach it at ALL. No more of this white-trash self-aggrandizing trash-saga for me. I find it absolutely incredible, if there really is a market for this broadcast dung. And we wonder why the moral temperature of America is getting dangerously low … this kind of sewage is why. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. I know I am ashamed of you.
VH1 has really lost its mojo, if it ever had it in the first place.

I think the Rock of Love is the Best damn tv show in the world I think that for Bret Michaels being as old as he is he is good looking and he doesn’t need to have two shows for publicity he is in the band Poison and has his own solo album, and I read an interview with Bret Michaels and he is really looking for love on this show and I think that Kristy Joe should have stayed and won I mean I like Ambre but I really liked Kristy Joe because she was the most real one on the show but that is just my opinon!

I love watching Rock of Love. I do have to say that if Bret is really looking for love….havin a show is not the way to go. In my personal opinion….a majority of the girls that has been on the show has NOT been there for Bret! I think they are there because he is BRET MICHAELS and to be on TV. But who knows. I still watch it and I yell at the T V alot.
I am looking for love too but I’m not famous so I can’t have a TV show. lol

I LOVE THE ROL SHOW! I THINK IT’S REAL AND TRUE. ITS THE LEAST I CAN SAY WITH SOME OF THESE CRAZY REALITY SHOWS. II ALSO THINK BRET MICHAELS STILL LOOKS GOOD AND HIS NEW ALBUM ISN’T BAD AT ALL, TOO. I’M GLAD HE PICKED AMBRE, SHE’S MORE REAL THAN ANYONE THAT WAS ON THE SHOW. ALL I GOT TO SAY IS DAISY GOT WHAT SHE DESERVED. SHE CAN’T EVEN HAVE A CIVILIZED CONVERSATION WITH BRET. YEAH, SHE’S GOT THE BODY BUT SHE DOESN’T HAVE THE BRAINS. SHE WAS BEGINNING TO PISS ME OFF DURING THE LAST EPISODE AS WELL…..BEING CYNICAL AND OBNOXIOUS . I’M JUST GLAD SHE DIDN’T GET PICKED AND I’M HAPPY FOR BOTH BRET AND AMBRE. I HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL FOR THEM AND GOOD LUCK TO THEM!!!!

Hi, I have watched Brett all thru this show and I remember growing up listening to him. I think he is just the hottest looking thing for his age. I wish that I could meet him in person. I think that he made the right choice for this season of Rock of Love II. I hope that they work out and can make a life for themselves. i hope that they will be very happy.

Michael wants to find someone that excepts his life style, women throwing themselfs at him and giving him lap dances, now he sent Ashely home because she said { i love my ex-because he is the father of my son }and she loves her son, I think Michael needs a slap in the head to wake up, if you want to find someone, you still can have your females jumping around but have a body guard no touching,I think Michael needs to start the next rock of love, seems like he only loves blonds and now their all gone.
