Gossip Web sites have been buzzing with rumors, gossip and hearsay as to which celebs will be included in the second season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew — and most of them have been wrong! Allow us to set the record straight (via a VH1 press release):
Similar to the first cycle, the second season of “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” will follow the real-life experiences of celebrity patients undergoing detoxification and treatment at a center in the Los Angeles area. The show will follow Jeff Conaway as he checks back into rehab after a series of back surgeries, setbacks and subsequent reliance on pain medications. Joining him in rehab are Sean Stewart (Sons of Hollywood), Amber Smith (model/actress), Rodney King, Nikki McKibbon (American Idol), Steven Adler (Guns n Roses) and Tawny Kitaen (Actress). Gary Busey, who is 13 years sober, will also be joining the cast to share his experiences and thoughts on the recovery process.
The series is set to premiere in October. Check photos of all the new rehabbers.

It is truely a shame that a beautiful lady like Amber is caught up in such drama and negative turmoil.. I think if she could have found the proper support partner, she would be top in her field…And I mean any field she would choose…I guess to be successful in Hollywood you have to be nuts!…My answer to that is, Leave! get out now!….she’s the type of girl born in the wrong place and trying to deal with something way too hard to beat…..remember this, its not too late…get out of the scum pool, find your true talent, find a partner for life, and get to living…….Christopher
I am a stepmom of 2 young boys 8 and 10, whos mother is a drug addict. I applaud each one of you for being in Dr.Drews playhouse and getting help in making your lives better for yourselves. I hope one day my stepsons will be able to share their lives once again with there bilogical mother. She lives on the street somewhere. We never know where she is from one day to the next. I pray for each one of you that your lives can be successful once again. Life is a journey .. Life is what we make it! Three of my favorite quotes are:

I watch Celebrity Rehab with great interest. My 24 year old son is an addict. He’s been through detox twice and thrown out of rehab twice. I never realized the chaos caused to everyone when someone you love has an addiction. I’ve finally attended a Family Program and am getting help for myself. No more chaos for me.

Its obvious to me that you are not an addict, you are not an achoholic but god bless you, you are concerned about the lives of these people .What I see you doing, especially with Adler, is a love to death deal.You dont challenge him, he isnt responseible for his actions. You are loving him to death.
Ego reduction is the name of the game in addiction therapy. Bill Wilson and Bob Smith along with Carl Jung showed us that way back in the thirties its the ego that has to be reduced. I am afraid you are not helping steve Adler by constantly feeding his ego….he needs to bottom out
Hi Amber,Your a beautiful person in and out ! I can see your not like the others. I know how you feel my parents did the same to me. It’s tuff I know I think you need to find someone who will love you and be there for you. I no I would love to have that in my life.I just woke up and relized that I did`nt have parents that loved me or any real friends, it was just the drugs . Now I`am 37 years old and dont have no family or friends . It all comes down to how you feel if your going to use or not . When you surround your self with good people that you can trust I suppose we would`nt use. Butt who has that!!!!!

Seth and Steven are not serious about staying clean. I think they are like cancer to the others. I think they should leave the sober house. They are putting other people’s sobriety in jepordy. dr. drew, i would like to know your personal feelings on a dr. that onyour first or second visit there would prescribe100 vicodan able to be filled every 12 days and also 5 refills….is that not creating an addict? THEN HE ADDED A 75 mcg fentynal patch…..any how over the course of the next 4 years he eventually was being prescribed 9 80mg oxycontin= 720 mg daily and also daily 8 5mg instant realease for a total of 760mg daily. and to top it all off this is a primary care physician.
I have been so impressed with Mr. Rodney King! Of all the people I’ve watched on both seasons of this show and also on Sober House, I personally believe that Mr. King will be the one to make it this time. He seems to have a real grip on his abilities and limitations as he takes this day-by-day journey. His public offering of forgiveness of and prayers for the men who beat him years ago that stirred up so much turmoil in this country touched my heart deeply. My hopes and prayers are with him as he progresses in this program. I think of these people daily and wish them all only the best.
I just wanted you to know that since watching the show I have absolutely changed the way I look at certain things all because of Rodney. I feel like I have gotten to know him through the show and I have just been amazed at him. I watched the show where he went to the scene of his beating and when I saw that he was able to forgive those people that did such a horrible thing to him….Wow. I was just blown away. I haven’t struggled with addiction but I have carried some incredible hatred with me because of an incident that happening years ago. I was so angry at this person and I will admit that I wished them dead every day. I hoped that they had a life full of pain and misery and that they died a horribly painful death. I have never been able to even consider forgiving them. After I saw Rodney….that was so amazing to me that I knew I had to let go of this hatred I was carrying and just let it go. I prayed so hard that night that God would help me forgive (but never forget) and have some peace in my heart. I think I will still struggle with it for some time but this is the first time in 10 years that I have even considered TRYING to forgive. Thank you Rodney. You have no idea how much you have been an inspiration to me.

I feel the editing of Sober House is focusing too much on the drama and not enough on the members trying to make the steps necessary to transition into sober living beyond this treatment stage. They have a wonderful opportunity and only Rodney King is taking it seriously.
Sadly, I think the show as edited is hurting the sober living treatment movement. If you search youTube for the Bozeman City Commission, you will find a heated clip where residents strongly opposed the creation of a sober house in the community for the very behaviors we are seeing glamourized on Sober House.
You’ve got them off the drugs. Please don’t get them addicted to the camera. Their lives are at stake.
I think this show would be much better viewing, and still “entertaining”, if the editing was geared to showing the residents use this opportunity to the fullest. We would like to cheer these people on.
I have been struggling with methadone addiction for about 12 years. It seems that nobody knows what to do or how to do it. If You Dr. Drew can contact me, if just for information, if nothing else i would be extremely grateful.

First, to “Angel”, and anyone else battling addiction: Rehabs don’t work. Period. If you really want to get clean, go to NA. If you want to get sober, go to AA. If you want to get free from the bondage of cocaine, go to CA. Simple. Don’t just go and sit there, either, go and do the work which is required. One thing is proven to work, honestly & thoroughly working twelve steps, to the best of one’s ability. Rehabs are a scam. They exist for one purpose, and one purpose only, to make money. They are businesses. Fellowships exist to help others recover from addiction, and it doesn’t cost a dime, unless you choose to donate. In the beginning AA had a 75% success rate. Rehab centers can claim maybe 19%, maybe. Why? Because people who haven’t got firsthand experience cant teach what they do not know to begin with. In the end, don’t look to some doctor to fix you, because it isn’t humanly possible. I know.
I’ve been there. I know what works and what doesn’t. These celebrities, sorry to say, (& hopefully, maybe one or two of them will prove me wrong on this & actually make it) are destined for the dreaded “Rehab Revolving Door”… (which is how these places manage to stay in business, after all, if they “cured” everyone, they wouldn’t have any customers left, would they?!)Think about it!

I have tried several different facility’s and have had no luck,since I do not have medicl insurance & they only take people with a medical risk addiction. I guess taking pills for 12yrs doesn’t count.I would love it if you could speek with me and give me some options to geeting clean 7 a detox facility that will help me…Thank you for your time…Please, Please HELP!!!!!

I can drink em all under the table. My band Dog Byte (from Scrumley in londons east west)is known for being the hardest partying band in the UK. I’ve even hung out with Lemmy!…and Ronny ‘Skin Flute’Skinner from ‘Forced Entry’. I can av 18 pints watchin a Chelsea game and still pull the birds-and no fat ones!!!
I know of a place much like Dr. Drews sober house in need of some support or maybe help,it,s owened by a recovering addict who has helped thousands of addicts like myself get there lives back on track sort of speak he,s in need of some suport that we can,t figure out how to give him. his program has made it possible for me to get my familly back and he still supports me if only by a phone call to see how were doing despite the problems he,s haveing,I would love to share my story about makeing-A-way and what it,s done for us in hopes to help his foundation continue to do what it has done for so many people. Just wanted Dr. Drew to hear that his show helped out a viewer whom isn’t even an abuser but the abusee. Got out of a very “WRONG” situation and because of the show I understood and learned a lot and that gave me the stregnth to stand up on my own two (2) feet and make one of the most difficult decisions in my life but have made that step a few months back and it was the best thing I ever did. There is life from being addicted to negative aura, including but not exluding any and all abuseive people. We DO NOT have to be the victim any longer. It’s ok.

“Dr.” Drew should have his license revoked. How can he possible think that having cameras all over the place could possibly help his patients recovery. It completely takes the focus OFF their recovery, and puts it on the show itself. How this man calls himself a “caring” individual is beyond me. I think he has the public fooled because he comes across as a very level, even keeled guy that is out to help people. If he really wanted to help thses people, he would’t have a show at all. He would treat them, in a completely private setting, and not air their issues in a public setting. He claims that his show makes people aware that there are people with drug/sex addictions. Wow, I NEVER would have known that if his show wasn’t on TV. It seems that the rest of the psychiatric community looks down on him, and also believes he’s a quack. He should have just stuck to his little call in radio show, and remained at the bottom of the barrel in the world of Psychiatry and Counseling. He’s a money hungy, bottom dwelling parasite that has made his fortune, publicly, off the pain, and very private issues of sick people, who, if they weren’t at their bottom to begin with, would never expose themselves in that way. He is as bad, if not worse, then the drug dealers those people relied on to score their drugs. How can someone concerned about ratings possibly be looking out for the best interests of his patients. I don’t know how this man lays his head down at night to sleep. He’s a complete discrace to the counseling profession.
I am just thrilled to know that Tom SIzemore is seeking help and following it thru…this is a multitalented man who for whatever reason, doesnt have the support or inter strength to get the monkey off his back but I pray for him every day… I understand addiction as I have been thru it with friends and family..I am sort of a self controlled person that will not let any substance control my life not even tobacco..but not all people can do that..I learned early in life that you get your issues out in the open and confront or whatever it takes to resolve them..I think of all the people at the center and pray for each and everyone of them everyday…God Bless the center and the wonderful work they do…..
I missed the last ep.(or 2) of season 2, can anyone tell me what happened after Jeff kicked Vicki, the shorts for the following ep.saw Vikki being taken to hospital,and that Jeff may have been in BIG trouble. Did she charge him? Anything else good happen? I was so annoyed to see the whole season,then miss the last ep. (went to rehab myself!!!)
I dont know if anybody will be reading this because the show was aired so long ago, I only satellite TV a year ago,so I’ve been watching the repeats at 7am (having missed the first showings coz it’s not on free to air tv here in Australia. ANYWAY, I’ve been reading some of your comments and can’t believe you have to pay for your detox/rehab. I’ve been to rehab3 x over the last 20 years, the last being very recently-I got out yesterday and it’s TOTALLY FREE HERE. We get all the meds,bed, food (nice food too) ALL FOR FREE. Then you can go to ‘sober living’ for 3 months-also free.(which I didb’t do as I couldb’t stand being away from my so 4 so long, but I have 3 different counsellors who I’ll be seeing regularly-again-free. That’s how it should be over there, it’s an illness,you shouldn’t be treated that way-seriously,who do you know with a habit whi has money??? That sux! You should come to Australia-we get treated as humans and looked after. I feel sorry for the couple who had the hard core crack problem who couldn’t afford detox & rehab. Again, I saw this was a while ago and I hope you managed to get it together-its’ f***ing hard/almost impossible (and very dangerous) to do it on your own. GOOD LUCK GUYS

I’ve been an avid follower of Celebrity Rehab, as well as Sober House, but no more. I was watching VH1 today, during the airing of a show discussing Sober House, when I heard Dr. Drew compare addiction to cancer. I have Non-Hodkins Lymphoma and am terminal. I don’t GET a choice as to whether I live or die. There’s just NO comparison. I don’t enjoy ANY of the affects of my illness, and I did nothing to bring it onto myself. I was born with a tumor, which snowballed my condition from then on. I feel his comment is a slap in the face to those afflicted with cancer. Unless he recants his statement and issues an apology (which I seriously doubt he will), I myself will not be watching any show which features him on it. I wish the clients of Celebrity Rehab, as well as the clients of Sober House all the best and hope they can find their sobriety as well as live it. The main thing is that they DO continue to live, hopefully sober.
