DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince Reunite

Although Will Smith now spends his time hanging with A-list pals like Tom Cruise and David Beckham, he certainly hasn’t forgotten that it was his role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air that got him his start. The Fresh Prince himself, in fact, reunited with DJ Jazzy Jeff for a special performance at the afterparty for the Hancock premiere in Hollywood Monday night, which paid tribute to his famous TV role.

People reports that Smith, 39, took the stage and said, “I’m out of shape-I’m playing an out of shape superhero here,” before performing several hit songs, including the theme song from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

An excited crowd, including Hancock costars Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman, bobbed to the music, and Tyrese Gibson even jumped on stage.

Will’s life certainly has come leaps and bounds since his start as an unknown rapper. Maybe sometimes the current box-office sensation, husband of Jada Pinkett-Smith, and father of three gathers the family ‘round the fire and recounts how his life went from a struggling kid in Philadelphia to $100-million-dollar sensation, and it goes something like this: “Now this is a story all about how, my life got flipped-turned upside down…”
