VMAs Preview: Britney’s In the House
Lots of news from the Paramount party zone in L.A., the site of this year’s VMAs. With the show starting in an hour, Britney’s cooling her heels in her dressing room. Paramore’s Haley Williams, whose band is competing with Kid Rock for “Best Video of the Year” award, says what would really thrill her is shaking Spears’ hand (what, no tongue kiss a la Madge?). Lauren Conrad & Chase Crawford will be handing out a prize, Tokio Hotel rocks as hard at rehearsal as they do during a real show, and Rihanna warms up her throat by belting out Jonas Bros hits.

Wow - I just sat down to watch the VMA’s and wouldn’t you know it - some idiot from the UK has to make a politcal statement bashing the republican’s.
VH1 is no better than US Weekly or any of the other partisan bullshit we have to watch on TV or see in magazines these days. If you are going to allow this guy to speak (he is not even from the US for God’s sake) then you shoudl allow equal time for the other side - better yet, stay out of politics! Your supposed to be dedicated to music and music is for neither side.
Whoever alowed this should be fired.
Guess I have watched my last show on VH1.

Wow….. i just sat down to watch the VMAs with my 14 year old. there is a reason no one ever heard of the host. i can’t believe the filth that came out of his mouth. how dare he speak about the jonas brothers purity rings. that is a personal decision and not open for discussion. they are a class act and that idiot host needs to go back to the uk. shame on mtv for allowing him so much air time. i am totally upset.

Don’t you know hollywood is dumborats!!! And UK dumb butt got it wrong Obama is the racist he hates being white to so he says he’s just black; he should be proud of being both. By the way 6% unemployment is not bad compared to the last time we had a dumborat in office it was up to 12% so if we let another dumb butt (Obama) in office we can look forward to higher than 6% especially when he starts to tax the big, small companies and the hard working middle class. Then his health care plan will cause a bigger shortage of nurses, doctors and hospitals. If your dumb enough to vote for the dumb then you deserve what will happen get ready to go back to the caveman ages.
MTV and VH1 of today are not music channels doped up lazy scums of the earth. They are just stupid reality shows run by dumborats. Well, I have never said this in an email before, but VH1/MTV, please just go to HELLo. The next sound you hear is me turning the channel. Your producers are a sad group of what they think comedy is or what an award show for music videos is all about. NEVER AGAIN WILL I TUNE IN TO THIS RIDICULOUS SHOW. And, may I say, whatever happened to the original format of MTV? Gossip Girl…ugh! There is no more music promotion. YOU SUCK!

I am just completely baffled by the VMA’s with Russle Brand as the host, not a good choice on VMA’s part. I can’t believe he would even make the comments he did with his opening comments with the election. It was completely unnecessary and rude. Palin is a highly respected and professional woman and does not deserve to have rude comments made about her from men or anyone. Palin’s daughter is 17 and underage and she especially should not have any commentary made about her and her pregnancy. The Palin’s are just like you and me. Why does Russle Brand even care who the President is anyway?! He doesn’t even live in our country!
Also, why does he care that the Jonas Brother made an amazing commitment to themselves? I respect them for it, I’m glad there are more people out there like me who are deciding to make that same decision, more people should respect and treassure their bodies.
How did Russle Brand even get to be the host at the VMA’s in the first place?! No one knows who he is and he’s not even funny. I’m a bit disapointed.
P.S. I don’t get why anyone wants Obama to be President anyways. No good will come out of it. Do people relly want taxes to be raised even more? It’s not just taxes though, it’s the whole picture. The economy is already bad why do people want to make it worse?

Why did Spears win awards!! What has she done!!! NOTHING!!!!! She hasnt even been around and shes winning all theses awards ,excuse me while I barf !!!! Oh and by the way go Obama beat Grandpa ,you can do it!! Overall the awards show was the worst ever!!

I am very happy for Brit winning all her awards! I have been a fan of hers from the very beginning! Everyone goes through rough patches in their lives and she’s done very well to clean up so far. I hope she decides to go on tour again! I’d really love to see her perform again! Go Brit! Show everyone what’s up!

I’m really shocked there’re people who think “Piece of me” isn’t worth it.
This video may not have special effects, nude poses, fireworks, umbrellas etc., but it has MEANING!
I respect Brit for her not getting scared to redicule herself and her situation in 2007 and all that show-biz things. The concept of the video corresponds to the song’s words… Who knows may you and understand something different because of living in countries.

Russell Brand was way over the top with some of the comments he made. Especially about the Jonas Brothers. It seems that most of the night he kept talking about sex. Very inappropriate for most of the MTV viewers. But the highlight of the evening was Britney. All I can say is…Britney’s back )~_+$^`$%&#+#~!)* es!!!
