De La Never Dreamt They’d Be Honored

Last night was the taping of Hip Hop Honors, our massive tribute to the hip-hop heavyweights we’ve loved for so long. One of our favorites, De La Soul, chatted with us during rehearsals on Wednesday about what they thought was in store for them when they first formed over twenty years ago.

Tune in on Monday, October 6th at 10 p.m. to see De La and the other honorees bring down the house.

  1. Tony says:

It was a good show and the honorees deserve the acknowledgement, but their performances where not long enough, esp. Slick Rick’s and Naughty by Nature. They should have shorten Tracy Morgan’s skits. The performances are the most important part of the show. Everybody in the past had their time on the stage. Now, we got cheated, we will never see the performances that they could a have been, like Tribe did last year (it was Naughty turn to shut it down and rock the house). I would have like to seen Slick Rick and Doug again. Slick Rick, 1 song? (big mistake) Good show, but overall I was disappointed in the length of their performances. Shout out to all the old school, Real Hip Hop Music.
