Celebrity Rehab 2 Is Here!

The first episode of the second season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew is here, and it’s a doozy. Between Gary Busey’s insistence of superiority over his fellow Rehabbers to Amber Smith’s vast and extensive pill collection to Rodney King’s junkyard meltdown to Steven Adler’s everywhere meltdown, there is a lot of humanity to take in. Watch the first segment above, watch the rest here.

In other Rehab news, Nikki McKibbin has spoken out on how her American Idol experience contributed to her downward spiral. She recently told Us Weekly:

“I came out of [American] Idol with a lack of self-confidence. I think I had my first solo in school when I was 5, and I got more as I got older: That’s the biggest compliment in choir. I had never been told I wasn’t good enough. Having to hear it for so many weeks from Simon Cowell killed me inside. I couldn’t get the s*** he had said to me out of my head. It drove me deeper into my depression. I wouldn’t say that this was Simon’s fault. It just added to the addict that I already was.”

Peep Nikki’s segment from the first Rehab 2 episode below:

Hey Chris - You must really just spend time finding things to piss yourself off about if you are even on this site then. How about some of your own rehab for that, heh? Btw, did you mean “Dirtbag TV is really annoying” or “The dirtbags on TV are really annoying”? Grouchy illiterates irk me.

  • Jen Says:

Being in detox, raw with emotions and these people are subject to Gary Busey as a mentor? He’s controlling, rude, throws out self-help cliche’s and really believes he’s recovering. Hey Doc, what’s up with that? I hope your celebrities are getting paid a bundle for all the abuse they’re being slung from Busey. I know YOU know better than that. But, all in the name of good reality TV right? What you’re doing is abusive and unethical. You should be reported to your licensing agency.

I Sooo feel alot of their pain. I am dependant on opiates. I work with a Pain Management Center that keeps everything in check. I have hip dyplasia with 1 fake hip. And have had 8 surgeries. The pain is real but the psychological effect the damn drugs have and the magnificant depression that comes with it is crazy. I tell those around me it’s bad but I don’t think they understand. How do I get them to understand. Do I need Help?

    TAWNEY,

When I grew up I thought you were so cool and now you are even cooler for doing this !
I am a 33yr old hair model whom has an oxycontin addiction and is in law school. I think it is great the guts that you have bless you!!! My point is that I watched the show last night for the first time because I haven’t heard or seen any thing about you since WKRP and White Snake ,and I know that you married Chuck Finley. Than you disappeared……Tawney, on the show you state how alone you felt. If only you knew how many people like myself, simply adore you . I received your autograph in high school I was popular and had a boyfriend that had long beautiful blond hair ,and every one compared us to you and that guy from White Snake !! So I sent your manager pics of me and Rick back in 1991, and you sent me a autograph!!! It made my whole year back than.. So don’t ever let anyone made you feel badly, and ignore Gary he has some big time issues!!!! I think he is funny in a HunterSThompson kind of way,but you my dear are an icon representing all of us “hot bad grls”
And you know now you are my hero now because you have the guts to do this !!!! AND WITH GARY BUSEY there !!!MY GOD WOMAN!!!! That takes strength!!!!
    Love always,
    Gina
Ps I ‘ll be in touch ,I hope to meet you someday.
I cried for poor Duff ,the drummer :(
Tell Duff I said Slash is no real friend of his, if he was than he would support him, Slash! can go &^$%`+@*&_)!*_~& himself, he washed up.and he is ugly for ignoring his friend.,Duff . Duff is sweet and much better looking. tell him I said that .
    Another ps .
Watching the show, I felt so in touch with the pain that it made me realize i need help too.
Even though, I live in a beautiful condo and have access to drugs that isn’t true happiness:(

    poor guy:(
    HOPE TO MEET YOU SOMEDAY
    GINA

Gary Bussey needs to get a clue a relapse is a relapse and he relapsed he told on himself!!!!! I have been clean and sober for almost 17 yrs, my clean date is Feb 20,1992 and even going through the death of my only son he was 17 yrs old

  • Casey Says:

We watch this show every time it is on. The last season was very great and we had so much hope for the celebrities that were there. It is sad to see that Jeff has relapsed, but it is really good to see him back. I have lost a boyfriend of 5 years to Meth (amongst other drugs) and my boyfriend is a recovering addict and has done a great job recovering. It is very hard to lose someone that you have so much faith in. I prayed everyday that he would overcome his addictions, but I guess God had other plans for him. God is good and I pray that he works in the lives of all the celebrities involved. It is so nice of you, Dr. Drew and staff, to take out time for people in need such as these. I know it must be a really hard job but you have to have a love for people that are in need. Something that has been so hard for me is not to take people that are under the influence of drugs serious. Sometimes they can be so inconsiderate and that has made our relationship very hard. He has come a long way and is a wonderful man know. He goes to men’s bible study, has joined the church and we hardly ever miss Sunday School or church. I know it has to be hard but I truly have no idea because I have never been an addict. I have never even tried hard drugs…alcohol is the worst! I cannot even imagine what they are going through but I really have a heart for people that even since their problem and seek help. The show is great and I absolutely love it!! I wish everyone the best of luck!

  • Barb Says:

What the hek is Gary doing in a Rehab???

Isnt there a celebrity mental health facility for him??

    He is one scarey dude!!

Take care Gary, no one has control but the almighty.

  • Jane,Recovering 17 yrs Says:

Dr Drew is brilliant, managing to balance compassion, solid recovery principles, and personal charisma with these wacky but lovable celebrities. I watch it for entertainment, but also fof inspiration–it helps MY recovery. And I feel deeply for the pain involved: I know it well! Thanks Dr Drew (love ya Shelley).
