The Celebreality Interview - So Hood
Of all the Real Chance of Love contestants, we thought So Hood would be around till the inevitably bitter end. Imagine our surprise when Chance gave her the boot this week for being “too much.” Cute as a button and a seemingly indefatiguable source of good TV, Real Chance of Love will not be the same without her. Below, the 23-year-old mom talks about the hope she holds out for a reunion with Chance, the problem with being as sexual as she is, whether or not she lives up to the “So Hood” moniker Chance gave her, and why she sees no problem in allowing her son to watch his mom chase for a man on national TV.
You cried when you were eliminated. How upset were you?
Very upset. I knew for a fact I was going to stay till the end. For Chance to have a chain up there and have me do this little dance while I’m shaking my butt, and then send me packing, it was kind of a smack in the face.
Do you resent Chance?
No, I don’t. I don’t think he gave me the proper amount of time to show him how great of a woman I am. But every single relationship I’ve been in, we always go through hard times at first and then eventually, they wake up and realize that this is a girl I need to be with. I’m keeping hope alive that we will hook up.
Do you think the problem was that Chance was intimidated by you and your sexuality?
Yes, definitely.
Have you ever encountered that before?
All the time. I don’t know what to do. Hey, I’m a dancer. I’m a sexual person, and I’m not scared to show it. I know exactly what I want out of life, and exactly how I want my man. I can’t help it if I know what I want. It’s like, am I going to be condemned to be single for the rest of my life, because men are afraid of me? I think it’s bulls***. Maybe the problem is that men want someone that they can control, and I am not that type of woman. I’ll have a guy come over and after we do what we’re doin’, I’ll send him off packin’. I can hang with the boys, and it’s just too much for men. That’s why I felt like Chance was the one for me. We’re so alike, it’s not funny. I’m not gonna give up, I’m a little hurt, but facing the reality of the matter is hard. The dating scene is so ugly. Chance has big shoes to fill. It’s hard for a guy to come behind him, after I was so in love with Chance. I was engaged some time before I went to L.A. I gave up my engagement to be with Chance. I knew that I was going to be with him.
It’s surprising to hear you say that you’re in love with him. Are you relationship-oriented? You seem like more of a player.
I have my days. I would love to be in a relationship. It’s a beautiful thing, being in love. Yeah, I’m a crazy girl. I’m wild. I like to have drunken hot sex on the kitchen counter. But I want to be able to do that with one man, not 10 different guys.
Have you ever tried playing hard to get?
S***, I’ve tried everything in the book. And it works for a little bit. I’ve been in several relationships, but then they wake up and realize I’m too independent.
Maybe you just go for immature guys?
Yeah. I think that’s the case with Chance. He needs a lot of taming. He’s very rough around the edges and he’s never going to find true love with the kind of attitude he has right now. I was patient enough and willing to stay the whole time in the house to make him see.
As outspoken as you are, it doesn’t seem like you had too much beef.
I got into a little something with K.O. in the beginning, but once the guys picked their girls, I didn’t need to have beef with K.O. One girl I couldn’t stand was Bubbles. To this day, I have dreams about the bitch. I can’t stand the sound of her f***ing voice. Meatball and I had a huge falling out the day before I went home. Me and Chance were hanging out in my room and Meatball came in to try and kiss him. I told her, “You don’t never step foot in this room.” I finally got my time with him. I didn’t need her to interrupt.
Why Bubbles?
At the mixer, we were talking about who and what we were there for, and she said that she was there for money. She blurted it out because she’s such a dumbass. That’s why I had such a huge falling out with her. Here I am, willing to go to any extreme to get this man’s attention, and this f***er is here for money and he’s really giving her attention? She wasn’t there for him. They only showed me chewing her out, like I’m the bad guy. Chance is a ticking time bomb, he don’t need a girl who’s from outer space. He don’t need a Martian. He needs a real goddamn woman.
Is there anyone you stayed in touch with?
Yes. Kiki and Bay Bay Bay. If they ever come to Chicago, they got a place to stay. They’re the realest girls in the house. All of Real’s girls loved me. And Chance’s girls knew I was their biggest competition. They were walking on eggshells! They all knew that I was perfect for him. The only one who didn’t see it was Chance. He cried when he sent me home. And it takes a lot for a man to cry. I saw the passion. I saw the fire in his eyes. I’m still holding on. Ask me this question a year from now, and if he hasn’t come knocking by then…he said that, too. He said that he might come knocking. I hope so. Now I’m the girl everyone’s afraid of. What do I gotta do to find love?
I think it’ll work out for you. You’re so young.
I’m 23-years-old and I have a 5-year-old son. I need a mature man because I can’t have guys calling me at 3, 4 in the morning. My house is not a hang-out spot. I don’t want strange men around my child. Because I’m a mother, I feel 33 or 43. I have a lot of responsibilities and men are afraid of that, too.
Do you let your son watch the show?
Yes. My son is my best friend. He’s my No. 1 fan. He watched the show and he told me every line word for word. He’s like, “Mom! Why did Chance give you your chain last? Let me talk to him.”
Is it awkward that your son is watching you act so openly sexual?
No. Not at all. A lot of people think I shouldn’t let him watch that. He’s so young that I can’t really explain to him that mommy’s gonna get her man by any means necessary, but me and my son have a great relationship. I know that 10 years down the line, he’ll look back on this and know what the purpose was.
What did you think about the name So Hood? Are you so hood?
At first, I was iffy because I don’t live in the hood or nowhere near the hood. I actually have a beautiful home in the suburbs. I do have the ability to be so hood when needed. The president of my association came to the door and said, “Your son can’t bounce the ball,” or whatever. I looked at her square in the eye and I said, “You’re dealing with a girl who don’t give a f***.” I march to my own beat. I thank God everyday for giving me the ability to speak my mind whenever I feel like it. It comes in handy when I’m in Wal-Mart and there’s 200 people in line and they got 3,000 registers and only one’s open. That’s when So Hood comes out.
Any regrets at all?
I wish I woulda kicked Meatball’s ass. If I knew I was going home the next day, I woulda just beat the s*** outta that girl. I also wish I did some more freaky things to Chance.
But he said that you were too much.
I don’t think I did enough. Not at all. I shoulda took him and just tied his ass to the goddamn bed and showed him what I was about. That’s what I shoulda did.

This was proof that Chance is inevitably a HOMOSEXUAL. If no other viewers can’t tell, then they’re dumb, because he’s the gayest guy I’ve ever seen! I don’t know why they didn’t do half girls for Real and half boys for Chance! He cut the girl he had the most chemistry with because he was fighting his straight impulses.

You know what I really liked you on the show. I did think that you went a little over board but hey you did exactly what I was watching for, entertain. You have said a few things in your interview that did kinda of bother me and hey I am just like you I speak my mind. The most important is you are going to lose the respect of your son if you continue to carry on this way, your son needs a mother( with clothes on and walk with her head held high) not a friend he can make his own friends. 2 If you are looking for a man to respect you and your household they first have to see something there to respect you running around shaking your behind the only thing that will get you is left behind. You need to take the time and grow a little you are a very pretty girl with a nice shape but a man want someone they can hold a conversation with, someone they can trust and from what you showed us on the show you would give it up in a heart beat.

Hey there young lady. I have been watching the show and I was shocked when Chance sent you home. Personally, woman to woman and mother to mother, be careful who you give your heart to and who you bring aroubd your little man. You are a beautiful young woman and there is a man out there for you. I think that sometimes you can be a little too sexual (publicly). Save all that energy and passion for the man who is going to love you for who you are and who is going to be proud of being your man. Also, go for a man who is not kissing and chasing after other woman because you are worth being number one. Best wishes and take care of your little man.

I thought So Hood had Chance in the bag!!! To be honest So Hood was one of the girls that made that show. For chance to say So Hood did not give him a chance to get to know the other girls…that was NOT So Hood fault at all. If you want something you gotta go get it. If those other girls felt the need to step back and LET So Hood get all the time that is them other girls fault not So Hood at all. I was surprised when he did that because I also thought that you would of been there till the end too. Hopefully he will come back.
