Rock of Love 2 Finale: Daisy’s Woozy

John Travolta: Mermaids and Octopussies
Hair plugs, liquid face makeup, and now a Little Mermaid jones. Perhaps John Travolta is not, in fact, struggling with a mid-life crisis, but yearning for a transformation into his childhood hero.
John took his daughter Ella to a Broadway production of the Ariel story last weekend. After singing along with the show (would love to hear him belt out “Poor unfortunate soooouls”), father and daughter headed backstage. “He was touching all the costumes, he looked amazed,” claims a Page Six source. In her endless effort to conceal Travolta’s singular brand of crazy, his rep worked some spin. “His daughter loves the show, so he knows it well.” That poor woman should retire because we spotted our boy at the 2007 Village Halloween parade. After Hairspray we know our guy loves lavish outfits. See how sharp he looks sporting the tentacles above?

American Idol: Annie Lennox Brings Down the House
Last night American Idol took a brief but extravagant hiatus from our usual who-sucks-the-most Wednesday night routine to present the celeb-studded benefit concert portion of the Idol Gives Back campaign. Besides raising money for worthy charities from viewer donations, the night featured more famous and entertaining reasons not to totally hate on producers for the results delay.

More Paula: Simon’s Angry This Season
VH1.com caught up with pop legend and American Idol judge Paula Abdul to speak about her new song and video (see it here), “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow,” off of Randy Jackson’s Music Club, Vol. 1. Ray J Croons About Sex with Whitney
As Whitney Houston works toward a comeback in her career, the men in her life are blabbing about their time with Whit - and each other. Ray J drops a little TMI in his new song “All I Feel” which sends a message to Bobby Brown about what it was like making love to his ex-wife. In it, he sings: “Is that your wife, is that your shorty, well I’m her boyfriend . . . I think the problem is you don’t beat it right . . . Making love is cool, just pull her hair sometimes.”Yep, we definitely didn’t need to know any of that.
Meanwhile, Bobby attempts to define the love triangle in his new autobiography, entitled Being Bobby Brown: The Whole Truth and Nothin’ But. “For those of you who want to know, I’m aware of the fact that Whitney had been seeing Ray J, a very young R&B artist who is most famous for being the little brother of Brandy, the multi-platinum singing artist and TV star,” he writes in the book. “Their relationship doesn’t bother me. She’s open to see whoever she wants to see, just like I can see who I want to see. I know the age difference between her and the little guy is 20 years, but to each his own. The only concern I had was how our daughter felt about the age difference. As long as she’s cool with it, it’s fine by me.”
And there you have it, the whole truth - though we’d argue that Ray J is most famous for getting raunchy with our main girl Kim Kardashian on tape. Now the only person left to hear from is Whitney herself. Think she should weigh in on her love drama or stay silent? [NY Post]

Pete & Ashlee Get Engaged, Register for Eyeliner
Think they’re celebrating at the Simpson home in Texas? 23-year old Ashlee Simpson is engaged to her sensitive rocker dreamboat, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy. Yes, that noise you hear is the shattering of 12-year old hearts around the world. Ashlee announced their good news on Pete’s website late last night with this message:
“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes - it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, but we wanted you to hear it straight from us.”
The singers are, however, remaining tight-lipped about the rumor that Ashlee is pregnant with a fall out baby, which possibly spurred the speedy engagement. Whatevs - can’t a famous couple just simply be in luv? All engagement presents of eyeliner and black nail polish can be sent directly to the happy pair. Mazel tov!
