The Celebreality Interview - Melissa
Conspiracy theory! Before being told to, “Get the f*** out!” by Bret, Melissa told him she never made any defamatory phone call. That’s her story and, even months after shooting the show, she’s sticking to it. Below, Melissa offers her take on the phone incident, talks about her inabiltity to handle the other girls’ drama and gives us an update on her implants. We know you’re on the edge of your seat, wondering if the leaks have been dammed.
How was your time on the show?
It was interesting. (Laughs.)
It seems like you had a rough time from the start.
Yeah. I live a really good lifestyle. I’m really carefree. I try not to have very much stress or negativity. That was hard to get used to. I could get used to being on the road, but it was really hard being around that many women who were catty and looking for drama daily and drinking all the time.
Didn’t you expect that, having watched Rock of Love 2?
Don’t get me wrong, I like to party and have a good time, but I think that some people don’t know their limits. But I did expect it. I planned on sticking to it to the end. There were lots of times where I said I wanted to leave, but the main reason came down to just knowing it wasn’t gonna happen with Bret and I after spending some time with him. There was no point in wasting any more time.
What brought you to that realization?
Just being around him. I’m really good at reading people. I feel like if you were willing to put yourself out there sexually, you were more likely to get his attention. I prefer not to have a guy like that. I was hoping he wouldn’t be like that. I’m just not that girl.
When he eliminated you, he cursed at you. Harsh, no?
Well, he didn’t eliminate me, I eliminated myself, but yeah, his words after I said I wanted to go were harsh. He cursed at me, which is rude. I just didn’t want to be there anymore. It wasn’t worth it to me to deal with all the girls, to have to be there and deal with all that for someone I thought wasn’t really there for love.
Do you resent Bret?
No, not at all. I let bygones be bygones. I would like for him to apologize for what he said, but if he doesn’t want to, that’s fine.
On the first episode, you said that you didn’t want to stay “for nothing.” What did that mean? Were you essentially telling him that you better win or else?
I meant that if he wasn’t there for love, he should let me know that this was something he was doing just to meet a lot of chicks. At that point, it seemed like the only way to get his attention was to do stuff I wasn’t willing to do, so I needed to know if that’s the way the entire show was going to be.
You took him aside multiple times.
He’s very convincing with his words, and he told me he wanted me to stay. He told me he was there for love, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. When we went on our date to the strip club, to me that was the time for him to get to know us on a personal level, but he decided not to do that. I didn’t think that was a way to show his sincerity.
Beverly was reluctant to dance onstage during that date. What did you think of that?
We all were, except for Brittaney. And Maria. I don’t mind going to strip clubs. That’s fun. I just don’t think it’s the first thing you should do with someone.
How are your implants?
Everything’s fine. I had to get home and get the [potentially leaking one] checked out. I got them redone because I felt like it was the best thing to do. Sometimes with a leak, you can’t really tell, so it’s better to be safe than sorry. But I should be good now with these implants. I’m pretty clumsy, I fall a lot. Recently, I was doing a dance class and I fell like 20 feet, and I was good. Nothing happened to them.
What about the phone call incident? When Bret confronted you, you told him you never made the call.
I didn’t. It wasn’t until I was off the show that I made the phone call you hear me on. I never made a phone call on the show. That was Brittaney Starr on the bed. That’s her jacket and her ring on her finger. How would the girls have heard me from the hotel, anyway? If you look at those shots, you see that the conversation is happening on the bus. Also, I never made fun of Bret’s extensions. I just stated that he has them. I didn’t find out till I was off the show that it was Brittanya and Natasha who said they heard me on the cell phone. I wish I could have defended myself because I had information about both of them that could have gotten them kicked off the show.
So you’re saying that Brittanya and Natasha invented this idea of you making a phone call, and the show was edited to reflect their story?
Yeah.
What kind of information did you have on those two?
Both of them had boyfriends. I knew their boyfriends names and phone numbers and everything about them. Especially Brittanya, because I’ve known her for three years. We went on this show as friends, and she totally stabbed me in the back so she could go further in the game. I didn’t know it was like that, but now I do. I’ve had a lot of problems with her since I’ve been home, too. She’s a really violent person and she’s always trying to be confrontational and start fights. We were both at this party for the Rock of Love Bus premiere and she was acting like she was cool with me. I told her, “If you don’t like me, that’s fine. You don’t have to pretend and be fake. We don’t have to talk. We can go to these events and be cordial adults.” And then as I’m walking by, one of her stupid friends tries to pull my hair and start a fight with me. They all got kicked out. I just looked at her and said, “You have no class.” I just try to remember I’m 30 and she’s 22. She’s still a little girl with a lot of growing up to do. And that’s another thing about Bret: he was willing to settle down with a 22-year-old. That kind of made me disgusted and not want to get to know him anymore. Why would a 46-year-old want to be with a 22-year-old?
They mentioned that you were talking to your boyfriend.
Yeah, a boyfriend that I do not have. I was dating someone for three years before the show. We broke up. I didn’t have a boyfriend on the show and I don’t now. I’m still looking for love. Brittanya knew we weren’t together because he was a really bad boyfriend. He treated me really bad and she knew all about it. I think she felt threatened by me, especially because our strip club date lasted so long.
Do you regret doing this show?
It was fun, it was a good experience. I don’t regret it. I take everything as an experience. But yeah, it was a little bit of a waste of time. We’ll see what the future holds, I can’t really say right now.

I am so glad you called out this so-called man, he really should start to look at himself and remember his hay days are well past him and move on to be a man? Why in the world are these women chasing him around and putting their lips on him, one after another after another? Not only is that sickening but just sad that they lower themselves for a person who is trying to bring back his youth, and when the show is over he will dump you and by this time in a few months we will all be watchinh part two! Grow up you’re not young anymore, dude!

Hey Britney! I just wanted to say that I will miss your character on Rock of Love. I really do feel that you will be offered more opportunities to do reality television if you choose to go that route. I actually kinda liked Ashley on the first show, but she has really started to take a turn for the uglier side lately. Girls like that are way too common on reality tv.

I totally noticed that whoever it was on the phone was on the bus!!!! I also was wondering how these drunk skanks could hear something like that, but unfortunately I _#&+@&~`&%`+^_* umed someone else was on the bus also and over-heard it. Melissa, you have won me over, you have it together and thankfully you didn’t get all sloppy and make-out with that walking carrier of many yet to be determined STD’s!

It was her thick blonde hair and her raspy voice talking on the telephonio. This cheeka is a big liar! her smug attitude is foa da’ birds. I hate the rock of love ghouls deyz all UGAH-ly. Yup I agree that Beverly and maria is the most prettiest and descent there is no way he will ever last with non sluts, for real. oh wow, I gotta rewatch that then, I did notice something was weird, like where the call took place and all the ppl who said they heard and the ppl who talked about it, it wasnt adding up. Anwyays, I didnt like Melissa til reading this and I think she is right, Bret is not looking for love cause he does get rid of the girls who dont want to use their sexuality all up front. Whatever gets you ratings thoug, and i continue to watch so its good tv, but I hate when they manipulate editing to look like something happened when it never did, that is just lying to us viewers. Why not put the truth out, and see what happens.

I don’t know, y’all, I have a feeling that little Miss Melissa is just trying to save face for this one. I don’t doubt that what she said was true, but she made it seem as though no one gave her an opportunity to clear her name. The girls asked her if she had a boyfriend, did she make a phone call, and everything. If she was innocent, all she had to do was answer the question. Guilty people are the ones who get defensive.
But, that’s all speculation, and so many things get lost on the cutting room floor, so maybe the truth is on the floor as well. We might never know…

I believe Melissa. This show is a ridiculous vehicle for Bret to gain some relevance again. I guess it worked considering he has a whole new crop of delusional sluts who love to “rock out” to “every rose has its thorn”. You think I’m kidding? I actually witnessed one of his concerts last summer (didn’t pay, just saw it) and he did a whole bunch of Guns n’ Roses and Lynard Skynard to fill time inbetween “every rose has its thorn” and “rock of love”. HIGH-LARE-EE-US!

this actually makes sense (about the girls in bed and the blonde in the bunk… i didnt catch that).
i noticed the same thing VET did about melissa having brown hair in back/under the blonde and you can pretty much see it anytime they show the back of melissa’s head. i thought it could be B.Star, but i thought nahhhhh shes too fat, lol, and she kinda has slightly darker hair in the back too. But then i thought, the voice is definitely Mels…
VH1 does a lot of stuff to their editing, so I wouldnt be surprised if Mel was telling the truth about her saying stuff after the show…
Even Brittanya admits that she and Melissa were both approached and recruited for the show. So maybe they both had BFs and just said okay and did it as an opportunity.

Wow i never noticed that until now and it totally makes sense. this show is ridiculous and so are the women on it. Brett is a nasty dude that should be with women his own age. The women with kids on the show should be reported to child protectice services if they would leave their children for Brett then who knows what else they have left their children for. Why can’t he get his hair done like Keith Urban or Christopher Atkins? Anything would be an improvement to that mop he calls hair on his head. Personally I think Melissa is full of shi*. That body in the clip was way to small to be Brittaney. And I’d like to know the name of the plastic surgeon that has been doing her implants so I know not to go to him. I don’t want to have to worry about my boobs leaking and killing me. I think someone is just pissed they got caught and is just trying to get famous off the show like the rest of the bimbos, with the exception of Beverly.

No that was not Mellissa on the bed. It was Brittany, but thats because Mellissa was off CAMERA when she had the conversation (not after the show).
The producers I think just tried to put a visual in there which I dont think they should have.

Ohhh hoo this girl annoys the crap out of me, you wanna know why? Because of the ANNOYING $)_`#%&@_@+_&!)) she does with her tongue and mouth, and not to mention how annoying her attitude is all together! Why the hell was she on the show in the first place?! How dumb can you be starting out with the ‘it’s just you and me’ $)_`#%&@_@+_&!)) when she knows DAMN well that’s not gunna fly with freakin Bret. There are SOO many prettier girls with better personalities, like Ashley, who are actually fun to have around…ohhhh f-in Melissa. She may be smart BUT the attitude she displayed wasn’t fun to watch, and like i said ugh that mouth thing she does is SO annoying. She’s pretty and all, but what’d she think? Let us be for real! Any one with an ounce of intelligence should know Brett Michaels is not looking for love. This show is just a tool for meeting more sleezy excuses for women and seeing how fast he can have sex with them and then kick them off; or kick them off if they do not have sex with him right away. Listen to the commentaries from the contestants, the combined IQ of all of them is below 70( the cut off for mental ~#`@)~*)((*_*$+$&! ation). If I was the mother of Bret Michael’s children I would not want any of the girls near my children, if for no other reason, but to avoid STD’s.Oh yes, that’s right, I guess his children have to see their “dad”, so they probaboy have built immunities up to STD’s over the years.In the early 90’s I used to think Bret Michael’s was hot, but not he is just a dirty old man with too much eye liner on.
The show is like a very bad car wreck, you know you shouldn’t look, but you can’t help but to look. I watch because I can’t believe there are women like this in the world, I am entertained by thier ignorance and to see just how low people will go.
