Rocklahoma: The Metal Place To Be This Summer

If you hear a gargantuan thud coming from just east of Tulsa in early July, don’t fret. It’s only the collective mayhem of the artists participating in Rocklahoma, a metal fest that boasts a lineup that’s bound to impress hardcore volume mavens. Twisted Sister, Ratt, Anthrax, Styper, Saxon, Night Ranger, Thin Lizzy, Skid Row, Great White, Kix, Keel, and Vixen will all be there – lots of other acts, too. You can see why some people deem it “the Woodstock of 80s rock music.” The dates are July 9 - 12.

Plus - and it’s a big plus - the opening night ceremonies find the festival screening a little film entitled Anvil! The Story of Anvil. It’s going to be sweet to see the movie leaping from the jumbo-tron screens. Hope everyone will still be able to hear it; it’s presented right after Anvil themselves pour a little “metal on metal” all over the crowd in one of their many live performances this summer. Watch Anvil show off their favorite music videos. Find out how to win a brunch with Anvil.
