Win Tickets to Anvil & AC/DC Shows!
UPDATE! Our sweepstakes is over. Thanks to all the participants!
“Back In Black” and “Highway To Hell” sound great blasting from a radio. But there’s nothing like seeing AC/DC crank out their hits on stage. After three decades of shaking crowds all night long, Angus and company still have the passion needed to clobber an audience with their hard rock attack. Yep, their current Black Ice World tour is a must for long time fans.
What could be heavier? Well, for two nights, in Boston and New York, AC/DC has invited the one and only Anvil to open for them. The veteran metal band is all the rage right now thanks to their critically-acclaimed documentary, Anvil! The Story of Anvil, which depicts the rough road the guys have traveled and the optimism they still sustain. For Anvil, sharing the stage with AC/DC is like a dream come true. Check the VH1 News report on the metal hook-up.
The best part? Our Anvil & AC/DC: Living The Rock ‘n’ Roll Dream Sweepstakes can put you at one of these shows. We’re giving away five pairs of tickets for the July 28th Boston show at Gillette Stadium, and five pairs of tickets for the July 31st New York show at Giants Stadium. In addition, each of the 10 winners will get the AC/DC Rock Band game (you get to choose which hardware version: Wii, PS3, Xbox, or PS2.
Comment below on what your rock ‘n’ roll dream is. Did you ever want to meet a certain musical hero? Did your band ever want to play a certain venue? Did you meet your significant other at a rock show? Bend the theme however you like to make it work, but let us know. Your entry in the comments field places you in the running for our random drawing. The sweeps is open through July 10.
You can also go to vh1.com on your mobile phone to enter.

My dream was to see AC/DC way before THE BLACK ICE TOUR. And than I lost my job in November 2008 and I still can not find a job. I even had to sell my car. So I must believe in miracles. That’s what my sis says, miracles do happen. And what a better place to see my dream come true than in New York where my parents and 6 brothers and sisters were born! Do you believe in miracles! I LOVE MY AC/DC !!!!!!!!!!!!! Alicia Sessums PS That was very sweet what the guys did for the little boy Hendrix with leukemia. Made his dream come true. My older sis died from that.

I think I’m a little late submitting this! But my dream was to see AC/DC before they even started THE BLACK ICE TOUR. I have dreamed of them touring for years, and they finally go on tour, and I get laid off. I haven’t worked since November 2008. I had to sell my car. But it would be a beautiful dream come true, even more fantastic if it was New York or New Jersey. Six of my sisters and brothers (and my mom and dad) were born in NY, me, being the first out of six more children being born in New Jersey. My sister Marilyn said to believe in your dream; she said miracles do happen. Hendrix was very special for you guys to go and visit him, the 6 year old boy with leukemia. My older sister died from leukemia. That was so sweet of you guys to fulfill his dream. May be my dream will come true. I love you AC/DC, Alicia Sessums

This Friday, July 31st, i am going to see them and I have heard good things about Anvil from my husband, and I just can’t wait and pray it does not rain.

I saw AC/DC at Gillette Stadium last night July 28, 2009. Unbelievable concert. I am 48 years old and have been a fan for years. I never thought I would be able to see them live. My son bought my husband and myself tickets to see the show. I am the mother of 5 and a very concervative lawyer. I went to the show and I felt like a 20 year old again. I danced all night and the show was incredible. The staging, the music, the incredible guitar player and singers showmanship were inspiring even to me who thought that real talent was gone. I wish I could see them again and bring my adult chidren with me this time so they can see what real rock and roll and talent is. You have to see it to believe it.

Not having a budget can ruin your plans to get out of debt. If you’re not already in debt, the lack of a budget can get you there. In the basic sense, a budget is just a plan for spending and saving your money.
Why is budgeting so important for debt management?
Imagine taking a roadtrip across the country without a directions or compass. Sure, you might get there after many detours, turn-arounds, and delays. Or you could get a roadmap, map out your trip, and get there with a lot less trouble.
It’s the same way with managing debt. You could successfully get out of debt without a budget, but how long would it take and how much would it cost you. Instead, living out a budget will make getting out of debt much easier.
A budget will help you figure out exactly how much you can afford to spend to get out of debt. Not only that, it helps you figure out where to squeeze more money from your debt.
Once your debt’s paid off, a budget can help you to keep your finances on track to prevent you from getting back into debt. A budget will help keep your spending under control so you don’t have to rely on Debt to make ends meet.
You can learn more about how to manage your debt at Debt

Saw AC/DC at the Razors Edge Tour, was wicked. Met Metallica back stage at a Black Album concert, when I demanded the roadie let me tag along with my girlfriend and her friend who managed to flirt their way back stage. Also was at the Justice show when I was 15, absolutely insane, violent metal fans everywhere back then. Caught Metallica and Guns N’ Roses in Seattle, with Sound Garden! I remember Metal on Metal by Anvil being one of the first songs I learned on guitar, pure awesomeness.

I KNOW I DON’T HAVE A CHANCE IN XXXX TO WIN,BUT AT LEAST I HAVE A CHANCE.I HAVE SEEN NEARLY EVERY ROCK N ROLL GROUP IN 70S AN 80S AN YES EVEN RETURNED TO A FEW IN 2000S.BUT THE GREATEST CONCERT I EVER SAW WAS AC/DC IN HOUSTON TEXAS IN THE LATE 70S.MAN WHAT A SHOW.I HAVE SEEN MANY PLAYERS LIKE TOWNSEND PAGE PLAY THE GUITAR,BUT ANVIL IS DIFFERENT THE GUITAR PLAYS HIM.IT MIGHT SOUND WIERD BUT THATS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS.AUSTRALIA ISSO LUCKY TO HAVE AC/DC. HERE IN THE U.S.OF A. WE HAVE BARBARA STRIESTAND. HERE IN ILLINOIS I DID GROW UP WATCHING R.E.O. SPEEDWAGON PERFORM IN BOWLING ALLEYS AND WAS A WAGONETTE SO TO SPEAK.WATCHED THEM NEARLY EVERY WEEK HERE IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS. BUT WHEN I FIRST HEARD HIGH VOLTAGE I WAS REALLY ROCKED.I SAW THE OLD SINGE IN TE 70S PLAY AND WAS SADDENED WHEN I HEARD HE LEFT. BUT THIS WASN’T TO LAST THE NEW SINGER IS AS GOOD OR BETTER.IT’S HARD IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS TO GO SEE A BIG PERFORMER.ST.LOUIS IS 200 MILES AWAY AS WELL AS CHICAGO.AND ITS HARD TO GET GOOD TICKETS.FROM CREAM TO MOODY BLUES I’VE SEENEM NEARLY ALL EXCEPT THE BEATLES.YET I DID SEE MCARTNEY IN WINGS.I HAVE SEEN AC/DC 2 TIMES.I KNOW I’M NOT WORTHY BUT IT WOULD BE AN HONOR TO WIN TICKETS. MY DAUGHTER AGE 23 JUST GRADUATED FROM UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS. SHE WAS HEAD EDITOR OF THE DAILY ILLINI. THE TOWNS LEADING NEWSPAPER AS WELL AS THE COLLEGES RAGS.SHE SAID I SHOULD AT LEAST TRY AN ENTER.SHE SAID IT WOULD HELP HER CAREER IMMENSELY IF SHE COULD EVEN DO AND INTERVIEW.WELL THATS ALL I CAN SAY TO SUCK UP TO AC/DC BUT IS THE TRUTH.I KNOW ITS PROBABLY TO LATE,BUT AT LEAST I DID AS MY DAUGHTER REQUESTED AND IF JUST A DREAM WHY NOT.I WISH I COULD MAKE HER DREAM COME TRUE AS WELL. KEEP ROCKIN AC/DC–HOPE TO HEAR YOU FOR A VERY LONG TIME.–TOM BRYDEN AGE 53 NORMAL ILLINOIS—DAUGHTER STEPHANIE LULAY AGE 23–RECENT MASTERS GRADUATE FROM UNIVERSITY ILLINOIS.–PS. IF BY CHANCE ITS NOT TO LATE MAYBE JUST SEND SOMETHING TO HER TO SHOW YOU GOT THIS. WOULD MEAN THE WORLD TO HER. THANX TOM

I bought tickets for my 14 year old son and myself for the ACDC concert November 8th at the Toyota Center in Houston. Does anyone know how to obtain backstage passes? We are on the third row, and it’s a surprise for my son. Angus is his hero and he received a Gibson SG for his birthday in September. He plays AC/DC ALL the time and is really quite good. I know he would be out of his mind if he could meet his hero. Every project in school including writing 8 poems were ALL about Angus and the band! I grew up listening to AC/DC and find it quite entertaining that he is such a throw back. If anyone knows how to get a backstage pass (even for just him!) I would be so grateful. I will pay for them, but I am not sure how to go about it-The Toyota Center does not have access to this particular venue. Thank you!!!!
