Win Tickets to Anvil & AC/DC Shows!

UPDATE! Our sweepstakes is over. Thanks to all the participants!

“Back In Black” and “Highway To Hell” sound great blasting from a radio. But there’s nothing like seeing AC/DC crank out their hits on stage. After three decades of shaking crowds all night long, Angus and company still have the passion needed to clobber an audience with their hard rock attack. Yep, their current Black Ice World tour is a must for long time fans.

What could be heavier? Well, for two nights, in Boston and New York, AC/DC has invited the one and only Anvil to open for them. The veteran metal band is all the rage right now thanks to their critically-acclaimed documentary, Anvil! The Story of Anvil, which depicts the rough road the guys have traveled and the optimism they still sustain. For Anvil, sharing the stage with AC/DC is like a dream come true. Check the VH1 News report on the metal hook-up.

The best part? Our Anvil & AC/DC: Living The Rock ‘n’ Roll Dream Sweepstakes can put you at one of these shows. We’re giving away five pairs of tickets for the July 28th Boston show at Gillette Stadium, and five pairs of tickets for the July 31st New York show at Giants Stadium. In addition, each of the 10 winners will get the AC/DC Rock Band game (you get to choose which hardware version: Wii, PS3, Xbox, or PS2.

Comment below on what your rock ‘n’ roll dream is. Did you ever want to meet a certain musical hero? Did your band ever want to play a certain venue? Did you meet your significant other at a rock show? Bend the theme however you like to make it work, but let us know. Your entry in the comments field places you in the running for our random drawing. The sweeps is open through July 10.

You can also go to vh1.com on your mobile phone to enter.

AC/DC is my one and only band. The represent the meaning of classic rock and music for me. I feel like I have been a fan since birth, thanks to my older brother who used to rock out with me in the car. Whether it be a good or bad day, rocking out to their music makes everything so much better. They have a unique sound and a great sense of musical style. Seeing them live would be my rock and roll dream come true and would mean the world to me!!

My rock and roll dream is to be in a sucessful hard rock band. Angus Young is my hero and i would love to meet him someday, and i hope to be in a band that is as successful as AC/DC has been over these past, nearly 40 years. I am the ultimate AC/DC fan and would give anything to get tickets to a live show. Please pick me!

Nick Crawford July 10, 2009 at 1:29 pm

For as long as i can remember, i was an AC/DC fan. I was raised on Bon Scott and Brian Johnsons wicked voices. I always dreamt about seeing them in concert, and possibly meeting them. Everything i have heard of AC/DC’s has inspired me to write music, and make a band. I love AC/DC. It would be so EPIC to see them, because i have not had the chance to yet, and would love to. Make my summer!

roger July 10, 2009 at 1:29 pm

Rock ‘n’ roll dream is simply AC/DC anytime, anywhere, all the time…. Long live AC/DC…. we salute you!!

I’m a big fan [he's not my favorite] of David Draiman (or Disturbed as a whole), and I had tickets for their concert when they were coming through sometime earlier this year. My girlfriend [at the time] was begging me to get tickets for them instead of Poison [which are amazing live] so I was like, “Eh…whatever”. The tickets came maybe about a month if not more before the show came around, I got them as SOON as they went on sale to the public.
Keep in mind, for personal reasons, I don’t have a license yet. Well, maybe a week before the show – my girlfriend straight flat dumps me, leaves me feeling like garbage, and to top it off, leaves me eating the cost of BOTH tickets considering I couldn’t find anyone who wanted to go or could go.

Aaron Moody July 10, 2009 at 1:51 pm

AC/DC really rock. I was not able to see them in Charlotte this past year so i would love to win the tickets. I’m what you call a 50 cent millionaire i like to rock but have been laid off and can’t go on my own. I have been a fan for years and even sang For those about to rock for a Karaoke contest. I would be great to see my idols and rock out.

AC/DC is ten tons of fun and everything you want/hope for in a concert. My dream would be to attend this show and meet a fellow concert freak because my last one dumped me.

Donie O'Leary July 10, 2009 at 6:13 pm

What can I say that hasn’t been said already about the mighty AC/DC. I’ll give it a go anyway, I’ve been a fan since I was 12 I’m now a 34 yr old married man of 2 young children & still a huge fan, I will be till the day I die. If I’m in a depressed or bad mood all I have to do is put on a AC/DC song, any song & it gets me straight out of the bad mood I was in, there just a pure Rock N Roll band, no B.S. about them like so many other bands around at the moment. My life would be alot different if AC/DC never existed. I live in Cork, Ireland & I’m trying to convince my wife to go to Boston & N.Y. with me to see the mighty AC/DC in action, she’s not convinced YET! But I feel, no, I know if I was to win these tickets she’d have to go me. You can see my AC/DC collection on youtube if you type in donieoleary, that was done awhile ago so my collection is alot bigger now. Thank you Angus, Malcolm, Brian, Cliff, Phil & VH1. Donie

Check out my AC/DC collection on youtube, type in donieoleary. I’m willing to travel over from Ireland if I win these tickets because AC/DC mean alot to me.

The Black Ice tour is awesome…I’m 49 years old and took my son (12) to his first concert a few months back…It was AC/DC in Memphis, Tenn, one of their last American tour dates at the time. My son is a up and comming drummer and loves Angus. We made a real road trip out of it, we left Atlanta at 12:00 noon, drove 7 hours to Memphis, bought our tickets outside the venue and managed to be 5 rows from the stage!! We then drove back to Atlanta after the concert rocking the whole way home, that’s a roadtrip and first concert I hope my son never forgets! We would love to be able to see the boys again before the current tour ends, that’s our Rock and Roll Dream!! thanks

Lou

AC/DC is my all time favorite rock n’ roll band. I have seen them live twice and both were the greatest live shows I have ever experienced. Angus Young is the greatest guitarist ever. Brian Johnsons and Ronald Belford Scott (Bon) have great voices that will never be imitated or replaced. THe whole band is just ‘effin awesome. Keep on rockin’ and continue to remind us how Rock n’ Roll was meant to be.

Lillian Lincolne July 10, 2009 at 8:50 pm

I’ve never been to a rock concert and AC/DC is one of the greatest bands of all time. I would really love to see them!

1985…junior year in high school and the future was so bright. Not a care in the world. Remember that feeling? High school seemed like the entire universe and all the rules seemed to mean something then. Going to see AC/DC with my best friend and 2 guy friends seemed very daring for a suburban Connecticut girl. What a crazy night! The music was so loud and vibrant and transported us all to someplace we had never been. The next day, I remember being unable to hear anything my teachers were saying and that I smiled the whole day, despite the very real possibility of permanent hearing loss. I would love to see AC/DC again and get to relive a moment of my life that I will never ever forget.

Shawn McMillan July 10, 2009 at 10:23 pm

My Rock N Roll Dream is to see AC-DC with my father after all the stories from him about how good they was back when he first saw them when he was younger. To see them in concert with my father would be awesome. Then even meeting the band would be icing on the cake. My father loves AC-DC and would listen to them when I was growing up and I would just sit there Bangin my head before I knew the meaning of it.
This would be my Rock N Roll Dream to see an AC-DC concert with my father!

Tyler Kemmerling July 11, 2009 at 7:24 pm

AC/DC is one of the greatest performing groups ever. When you think AC/DC, you think Monumental. They sell out huge venues night after night, why? Because AC/DC in their 35 years of performing have never let us, the fans, down. Not for one second. They have only grown fiercer.

Rob Lovett July 12, 2009 at 10:46 am

I work at a concert venue in NH and see alot of people having fun at the concerts. Just once I’d love to hang out with the band backstage – The Allman Brothers Band would be so cool!

Joe Evins July 12, 2009 at 3:52 pm

John Santamaria July 13, 2009 at 8:10 am

my rock & roll dream was fulfilled two years ago when my local faves the Mighty Mighty Bosstones returned to do HomeTown Throwdown #10 at the Middle East Club in Cambridge, MA. Their was little announcement of their hiatus, and it’s not like them to go out with a whimper, but they just sort of diappearred.

Sure enough the first night of Throwdown 10 was a scorcher – the lights went down & they hit the stage & hit every note like a ton of bricks – after 4 and a half years, it was like they’d never been away. Within moments the place was a swirling sweaty mess of bodies skanking away. *)^#(%(&)+@@+@_( y’s growl, Joe’s thump and Ben’s bobbing – everything was right in the world again!

marla martin July 13, 2009 at 3:39 pm

This is the only band for me.. Take me with you Please! I would love to travel and watch you play every nite if I could.. Much Love M~

Ashley Bandstra July 13, 2009 at 6:41 pm

I have wanted to be a rock star since I was two or three. My two favorite stars growing up were Michael Jackson and Madonna. I didn’t grow up with any friends in bands, so my options were limited. I didn’t start getting into the metal/rock shows until I met my at-the-time boss. It was there that I saw my future love of my life. The first time I saw him, I thought he was great. We didn’t actually meet until two or three months later. We were involved in long term relationships at the time, so we didn’t talk much. It just so happens that we split up with our partners within 4-5 months of each other. We soon hit it off, and are still in love four years later (on July 22nd). My boyfriend is seriously the most informative AC/DC fan I know. He would sell everything he has to see them play. This would be the perfect anniversary gift for us! Please pick us, AC/DC!

Shawn Watts July 13, 2009 at 11:10 pm

I would like to see ACDC

Aaron Pedersen July 13, 2009 at 11:47 pm

When I was 14, I saw the greatest rock and roll concert I have ever been too. I saw AC/DC in Salt Lake City. I had seen AC/DC in videos, but the live performance is what did it for me, the energy that Angus put out was incredible. From that moment I knew I wanted to play guitar, so I picked up the electric bass. I played everyday, later in high school I played in jazz band, as well as in college. Thanks to AC/DC for inspiring my dream to play music especially good old toe tapping rock and roll, I have played in several rock bands, and have paved the way for my music career.

Motorbiker July 14, 2009 at 10:19 pm

My rock and roll dream IS to be upstage, rocking out either solo, or with a future band with a variety of genres from hard rock n roll, blues, metal, …easy listening? I do it all, and play what the fans wanna here. And roam all around the stage from one side to the other, just like Angus, and even go through the crowd! Tour the world, spread the rock, be an inspiration to many, and kick some !)!^*$~(@_++(_@

I can’t wait till ACDC comes to Dallas
