Tool Academy 2 - Episode 1 - Jordan’s Blog

jordan_blog_e1

Tool Academy host Jordan Murphy is really into the show. So into it, in fact, that he’s offered his insight on a weekly basis. For every episode, Jordan will offer his take on what went down, as well as some juicy behind-the-scenes tidbits. The Tool Academy 2 premiere through his eyes is below…

Needless to say, it’s always revealing to see the show in its fully edited form.  The crew shoots 24/7 and then a show is boiled down to 90 minutes;  truly amazing.

Because I wasn’t allowed near the set in Las Vegas in case one of the new Tools saw me, seeing all of the HER segment was hilarious.  I knew we set them up but wow.  I would have been fooled by that set up.  The TOOLS didn’t even see it coming.  DIDN’T EVEN SEE IT COMING.  When getting the shots set up with a large group, the hold time can be awkward…we literally stand there staring at each other, no talking just waiting.  I’ll tell you this: when I walked in that room to inform them of their fate, I had several exit strategies.

My favorite lines this episode:

-John’s line “Shtick coma.â€
-Dre P’s line after he realized his girlfriend had been watching: “Pisstivity.â€

After I revealed that they were on Tool Academy, Dre P told us he had shared his soon-to-be claim to fame with HER in the airport, before arriving in Las Vegas.  Whoever he shared it with cautioned him by saying “Whoa…be careful. Sounds like you’re going to the Tool Academy.”  He blew it off, obviously.

All in all, a much more angry bunch this season.  However, somehow when they got off the bus in L.A., after their seven-hour trip from Las Vegas to L.A., they must have been reminded that they were going to get their 15 minutes and decided to suck it up.

Josh was CLEARLY nervous.  He couldn’t keep still.  He shifted, moaned and even whispered under his breath, “I’m sorry. I’m really nervous. I just don’t wanna go home.” As we all know now, before I even had a chance to expel Josh, he bolted out the door, stripping me of what I live for…

This is a strange blog. I’d rather not hear him judge the contestants — that’s the viewers’ job — and instead more of the behind-the-scenes details we miss…

  • Jaime Says:

lol wow Vh1 does it again! I wonder who will end up killing who. Literally. i have to admit I love this show thank you for replacing that disaster of a show (MEAGAN) with something incredible.!

  • Dee Says:

OMG, Jordan. The way you reacted after Josh walked out - that was freakin’ awesome. I really didn’t expect that kind of reaction.

I’m glad he left. He was a complete douche. I was so shocked when I saw how he was treating his girlfriend. Goodness.

  • Nikki Says:

Wow, what a Tooltastic end to a show! I am very surprised VH1 didn’t edit out it’s own host proving every guy has the potential to be a Tool.
Jordan, what that? You should be embarrassed. Was all the screaming and obscenities really necessary? That’s usually the type of behavior you would see coming from a bulky Security Guard, but even he kept his cool. You have Security for a reason. The situation was being handled. Yes, the guy was a TOTAL TOOL, we all saw it, it’s just unfortunate Jordan had to be one too.

  • Sum Says:

    ummm…can i sign my husband up 4 the next season? lol…..but no, im 4 real…can i?

  • sum Says:

can i sign my husband up 4 the next season?

  • notnownotever Says:

Sum— you can apply for the next season at http://www.TOOLACADEMYCASTING.com

the site already says “class of 2010″ ….so we know what that means!!!

  • Michelle Says:

I agree Jordan was way out of line.

  • Satricia Says:

Does anyone know if the ToolAcademyCasting.com site is still active, or is that still just from last season?

  • MelNtrigue Says:

All I can say is amazing first episode! I mean wow! Josh’s actions just showed how much of a cowardly manipulative tool he is. He got eliminated, least he could have done was go out with dignity. And then to turn the situation on his girlfriend and make it seem like SHE was the one causing a scene? Ugh. I can’t wait to see how the season unfolds! You and Trina rock!

  • scifiwritir Says:

I like you Jordan but I have to admit I was a bit bothered when you were so nasty to Josh. The host of the show is supposed to be confessor-helper, not judge. Your snappy at him seemed uncool, cruel, and much like hitting a guy when he’s down. Gordon Ramsey can be nasty; it works with him. But learn a little from Ryan Seacrest, if possible. He maintains his distance when it comes to judging anyone. He lets Simon Cowell do that.

  • mnchick Says:

OK Jordan..think you are awesome but after this episode who I REALLY want to hear from is that idiot Josh! I want to hear his explanation of his reaction and I also want to hear from his girlfriend. I really hope she dumped his a$$ after the show!

  • JLR Says:

hahahaha best elimination I have seen, And the Jordan jumped right on borad and took full advantage of the situation. The ending of the 1st show is the reason I watch reality TV. Oh and I agree with that Megan crap, I can watch anything but I couldn’t watch that

  • Raheem Says:

Are you serious?? This can not be real and has to be a joke. There are really people in this world that are that stupid that they can’t see what kind of mess they are getting into. When your boyfriend cheats on you, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU STAY!!!!!! The Women of this show aren’t innocent. They are the nails that let the Tools bash the crap out of them. Grown Women acting like if they will never meet another guy in the world and Grown Man acting like freaking rejects cracks me up. Whoever casted these guys is a genius. It must be difficult to find such pathetic people. Tool Academy you made me realize that the tools that swear they get the girls are just worthless chumps whom need to get the crap beat out of them BAD.

  • Heather Says:

First time I’ve watched the show. Loved episode 1. I agree with everyone that the host should not have flipped out like that. I wish something like this was around when I was dating my tool ex-boyfriend for 6 years. Some of the things these couples go through is exactly what I experienced.

  • Greg Says:

Apparently the host is one of the biggest tools there! Who the hell freaks out like that? Let the producers handle it and act with some class.

  • Mel Says:

LOVED the ending! hearing the host scream at Josh just made my day!

  • Nick Says:

I disagree with the people that think Jordan was out of line. Josh was a special case that doesn’t need to be handled with kid gloves, and obviously that whole ordeal went on A LOT longer than was aired. I’m sure a lot of that was frustration and a little bit of trying to snap the guy out of his embarrassment trance.

  • Jesse Says:

I want to say a group of friends and I watched the episodes last night. And when the host cursed in a huge long drawn out fashion I think it was immature and wrong. If I was the person he was yelling the F word etc to and telling to get the FXXX out of their. I would have punched him right in the face. I think he should either be fined or taken off the show completely. BAD IMAGE . No matter what show it is thats horrible. HE has no character. I hope the show gets dropped.

  • Bob Says:

I totally agree with the majority and that you made yourself look like a King Tool. I hope VH1 replaces you as that was totally out of line no matter how bad a person Josh is. You were extremely lucky as probably 9/10 other people would’ve clocked you square in the face. Now that would be good television.

  • mandy Says:

Its fixed . Dre was doing the best .. I hate crap like this.. no point in helping them change if you waiting for them to fail.. charm screwed up sooo many times. dre has one bad day and is kicked off lol.. yea right.. the show is fixed.. as is the world.. next ..

  • cort Says:
