Remember how when Pink came out in 2000, her music had a decidedly more urban bent than it does now? In this interview from her Behind the Music (premiering Thursday at 8/7c) session, she talks about the racial politics surrounding her rise to fame and her ability to “really screw with your stereotypes.” She says, in fact, that the last point became her “life’s purpose.” Pretty admirable, no?

i can absolutely relate. being white nowadays comes with a lot more b.s. than people think, and i wish that everyone could see that we are discriminated against for the color of our skin just as much as everyone else.

first of all this girl is not the first one to come along.
you got christina aguilera, peggy lee and janis joplin to name but a few.
this pink needs to get over herself and stop stirrin’ the sh** with its reverse discrimination.

She has a great sense of humor! She had me laughing right along with her during her interview. She’s not the first but she’s still keepin it real nonetheless, and that’s cool.
