i am so sorry to say, but this was the worst pairing of divas.don’t get me wrong i am a fan of everyone that appeared on the show, but seriously come on. i thought to truly call yourself a diva you had to earn your strips. this year’s divas are still trying to find their status in the industry.the show was lackluster and paula abdul was a terrible choice for a host. i hope if they do a divas 2010 they get a better more deserving roster of divas. so disappointed in VH1

What happened to Vh1 divas ? It’s not like I remembered it !!! The 6 divas of 2009 were ok, but they’re not diva material yet! When you see or hear the word DIVA, you think of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, Shania Twain, Cher, Toni Braxton, Janet Jackson, Faith Hill, Diana Ross, Madonna and the list go on and on. Must say that Sheryl Crow should have been the main diva of the evening. Miley, Jordin, Leona, Adele, Jennifer and Kelly still need to prove themselves. I mean even divas like Dolly Parton, Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Tyler, Kylie Minogue and Spice Girls should have been on that stage.

Will Divas 2009 air again on VH1?

  7. Thiago Vinicius says:

Why and where Miley Cirus is Diva?????????
Diva is Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Cher, Tina Tunner…..

    I hate Miley Cirus

  8. Thiago Vinicius says:

    and Whitney Houston ?????

This concert made me lose complete and total faith in VH1. Their criteria for what makes a diva, is basically nonexistent. Miley Cyrus, for Christ’s sake, I mean really? On what planet is that no-talent, teenaged teenybopper a diva? She can’t even sing! When it came to choosing who singers for their past shows, VH1 has done pretty bad in the past, but this takes the cake. Like any other franchise, this, too has proven that sequels SUCK. The 1998 concert was the best, hands down.

I’ve read (but don’t know if it’s true) that there will be another “Divas Live” concert in December of this year. Not that the producers care about longevity or quality or anything like that, here’s a list of women who have left their indelible marks in the music world:

    Anita Baker
    Pat Benatar
    Taylor Dayne
    Natalie Cole
    Bette Midler
    Toni Braxton
    Dolly Parton
    Reba McEntire
    Bonnie Raitt
    Roberta Flack
    Crystal Gayle
    Loretta Lynn
    Joni Mitchell
    Evelyn “Champagne” King
    Cheryl Lynn
    Patrice Rushen
    Niki Haris
    Angela Winbush
    Patti Austin
    Trish Yearwood

Any five of these 21 women would make a fine lineup, but if last year’s show was any indication, I won’t hold my breath.
