Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew - Peep The Full Cast

sex_rehab_cast_drew_jill

The latest Celebrity Rehab spin-off, Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew, will tackle the mostly unexamined world of sex addiction. It debuts Sunday, Nov. 1 at 10/9c. More details are in the press release below, and after that, get a look at the cast of the show on set…

VH1, Dr. Drew and Irwin Entertainment have expanded their documentary series on addiction to examine one of society’s most taboo topics, sex addiction, in the upcoming series Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew. The series is set to premiere on VH1 on Sunday, November 1 at 10pm.

Addictions are nothing new, and most people are aware of those involving alcohol, drugs, and eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, but few know about and understand sex addiction. It afflicts roughly 3%-6% of the American population, and just like other addictions, its impact on personal lives can be devastating. The affliction can wreak havoc on the mental and physical health of those afflicted as well as destroy marriages, families, careers and even finances.

Dr. Drew and a team of the nation’s foremost experts on sexual addiction will guide eight patients through an intensive state of the art program. Living together for 21 days, they’ll meet with Dr. Drew in daily one-on-one and group therapy sessions in order to get to the root of their compulsive behavior.

Dr. Drew is a highly respected practicing MD, is board certified in addiction medicine and assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at KECK USC School of Medicine, who will once again give viewers an unflinching look at exactly how the rehab process works and what it feels like for participants. Dr. Drew hopes to use his patients to humanize the process and show viewers that treatment is a viable way to break the cycle of addiction.

Beginning Monday, October 26 fans can catch a sneak peek of the season’s first episode on VH1.com – one week before the on-air premiere. Subsequent episodes will be available on VH1.com the morning after they air. Additional video content from Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew including extras from each episode will be available on VH1.com and on VH1 Mobile throughout the season.

Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew is executive produced by John Irwin and Bruce Toms for Irwin Entertainment. Dr. Drew Pinsky and Howard Lapides are also executive producing. Jeff Olde, Jill Holmes, and Noah Pollack are executive producers for VH1.

(FYI, that’s marriage/family therapist Jill Vermeire in the shot above with Dr. Drew.)

The eight Sex Rehab patients (along with some biographical info on them) are below…

Jennifer Ketchum (aka Penny Flame) – Porn actress / Director / Business woman

Jennifer Ketcham, 26 years old (former adult star known as Penny Flame) is now pursuing a writing career and life in production behind the lens. As an adult performer Jennifer climbed to the top winning over 5 awards and directing educational guides for Vivid. Jennifer still owns her adult website PennyFlame.com (NSFW, duh) and directed and produced all the content on there. Her latest venture has been a confessional blog documenting her struggle to move away from her adult film life as Penny towards becoming Jennie. Taking everything she learned from the show she has remained sober and has been enjoying all the beauties sobriety has to offer.

James “Jamie” Lovett – Surfer / Wakeboarder

James Lovett is one of the world’s top rated surfers and wakeboarders. Lovett, who started surfing before the age of 10, was perfecting aerials at the age of ten. At 14 years old Lovett turned professional and has since dominated the sport winning countless competitions and medals. In 2004, at the age of 17 years old, Lovett climbed his way to the top of the wake surfing when he won the Centurion World Wake Surfing Championships.

Nicole Narain – Model / Playboy Playmate

Soon after becoming Playboy’s Miss January 2002, she appeared in music videos from the likes of Diddy, Mario Wayans and Jermaine Dupri. She’s also appeared on Entourage, Mad TV and American Heiress. She reached a new level of exposure when a sex tape featuring her with Colin Farrel leaked. “That pretty much ruined my life,” she says. Lately, she has been focusing on writing. “I’m ready to purge,” she reports.

Her upcoming book, Stripped, Strung Out, and Beautifully Abused, focuses on sexual abuse, domestic violence, power, control, relationships and goals. Her clothing line is Strung Out Girl.

Kendra Jade Rossi – Ex-porn star / Music manager

During her years in the porn industry, Kendra became a well known adult film star. However, she also became tabloid fodder. (Star magazine and Us Weekly accused her of breaking up Kevin Federline and Britney Spears marriage after a trip to Vegas, for example.) She finally left the adult film industry in 2001 on the verge of a complete breakdown. She fell headlong into alcoholism and was also diagnosed as an agoraphobic with severe anxiety and panic disorders, which introduced the world of prescription drug abuse.

In 2007, Kendra was introduced to Lukas Rossi, winner of Rockstar Supernova, by mutual friends, Dave Navarro and Tommy Lee - and the two immediately clicked. They married 4 months after meeting. Kendra will tell anyone who will listen that Lukas saved her life. It was his love and devotion to her that spurred her to face her personal demons and reach out for help and sobriety.

Duncan Roy - Producer / Writer / Director

I would like to tell Phil Varone that #1 I have never written a celebrity and swore that it would NEVER happen. BUT Ii was compelled to write you after you had the visit with your Father regarding your Mother’s death. My Mother died of Breast Cancer at 52 year old. She was beautiful, and charismatic, during her funeral speakers were put in the streets because so many people attended. OF course I was a mess, I’m a recovering alcholic, drug addict and clinical depression mostly brought on by unresolved problems and over 20 years of severe drug abuse. Need less to say, I was not “there” at my Mothers funeral, yes in person but not emotionally. i was screwed up on herion and pills, the night before, instead of letting my family greive they had to spend the night looking for their crazy daughter out driving around drunk and high. Until you told you story, because I moved away from home and did little but write letters home. I NEVER grieved her death correctly, never she a tear, in fact I worked the day she died, living in BOston before catching a plane to Rapid CIty, SD then drive 4 hours to Gordon, NEbraska in the middle of nowhere. I remember being pissed off at all the money I was wasting cuz I spent nearly every dime I made on heroin and coke. Anyway, when you came to the conclusion that perhaps you played a role in being absent and therefore unable to have a grief talk with your Dad–I bawled an bawled. CRIED for hours, feeling some relief for years of bottled up emotion. IT took so much guts for man like you to reveal innermost feelings. I am so very proud of you. I wish we were friends because you need to hear everyday how great you are. You put yourself out there on this show and your honesty really helped me as I’m sure it has millions. Congratulations. YOu are so handsome and as long as you get being honest and share your feelings with your future love, life will be glorious for you. YEs we all have ups and downs, but you are doing the work now for a great future. Today even though I’m stuck in CHarlotte, NC trying to get to FT myers I have 17 months 12days sober. I you ever feel like talking to someone one spend 3 years living in LA during the early 80s and experienced too much excess there- or want to talk about the benefits of living sober, I would enjoy hearing from you because of all the people in the house I found you and Duncun to be the most honest. I really think you did a service for millions of Americans and you should be proud. PLus you are so lucky to have a Father who loves you so much. Kylie SMIth

ok well we would like to say that keri ann is a selfish little brat and needs to grow up. America who ever voted for her to be miss teen usa you guys are plum retarted! the girl acts like she is 7 years old. but the other members of this show did a really good job and they all acted like they wanted to get help which is real good. i hope they all end up doing well in life.

  • Cindy Y Says:

Kari Ann needs her ~~#(#%*#)&&(%$$ KICKED HARD and THEN she needs to be admitted into a psychiatric facility for a full ~~#(#%*#)&&(%$$ essment and medication. Its clear she has severe mental health and behavioral issues and manipulates people into doing things that suit her and only her and throws a tantrum or turns on the plastic tears to invoke sympathy to get her way. I have great empathy for the staff that put up with her crap - she would have been out the door if it were me running this facility. This little witch pushed everyones buttons to the limit. What really got to me how she refused to wake UP in the mornings and ordered the staff to get her juice - when they didn’t she’d say they were “mean”. ~~#(#%*#)&&(%$$ kicking from here to KINGDOM COME!!!!!! Maybe she’ll wake UP then.

  • ralph Says:

is this show for real or is it just a show

  • Felina Says:

Did this program even do these people any good? I mean, even in the last episode, they all look so weak and broken. I don’t think this program helped them at all. The weren’t ready to leave the rehab, and the producers just left them out on the streets with their demons still tormenting them. It’s like they got diagnosed with a terminal disease, but are released before they were even close to recovery. It only made things worse!!

  • Dan Says:

Once again, there is NO such thing as sexual addiction..it is a false and misleading term…where in the DSM-IV or the ICD-9 does it have sexual addiction..it doesn’t..it doesn’t exist…is there sexual compulsivity?…is there sexual harm? ..is there sex problems?…Absolutely…but that is because human beings, who are sexual creatures…have various other mental disorders and when people(who are sexual) have mental disorders they invariably have sexual problems as well…sexual compulsivity is a manifestation of OCD…by using this false and misleading term…Dr. Drew is harming his patients..by bringing back guilt and shame around sexual questions..jesus you might as well send them all back to catholic school..it would be cheaper.

  • Christine pope Says:

Kari Ann is such a rotten person and a b_tch

  • Dick Lee Says:

Enjoyed the show very much and my heart goes out to these folks, even the ego-centric and broken Miss Teen America. In subsequent installments, does Dr. Drew guide Amber to the point of understanding that she seeks out unavailable men because she is trying to find and “fix” her father? Hope this could be a springboard for discussion. Your work is really positive and impressive. Thank you to you and your staff.

  • J-money Says:

I am in so much love with Nicole. I want to let her know that I am here to give her any kind of emotional suport that she might need… I just want to be there for you…:)

    J-Money

  • Stefan Says:

I’m from Sweden. I’ve watched all the previous shows. This one was obviously very different due to the nature of sex addiction. Even though sex addicts are as messed up as drug addicts I think it’s fair to say that the actual addiction is less deadly - in the sense that the struggle for life is often less literal and acute than with drug addiction. But that also means that the psychological and existential struggle (although not necessarily the underlying problem)is more visible. I think that is where a lot of the shame comes from.

Rehab is a great serie. Very interesting and engaging. What I don’t like is the loud no-attention-span-friendly production - the ridiculously fast tempo, the garish visual style and all the dramaturgic efforts made to emphasize the drama (including the sound effects and all the previews). Please VH1, I don’t care if you call it American, modern or Xtreme, cut the crap. Less MTV, more BBC.

  • Andrew Williams Says:

    Dear Dr Screw You Drew:

What a piece of ^%+_(_)#)+`_+++( you are for taking vulnerable peolple, many of whom are not in an emotionally healthy place, and exploiting their problems in public.

  • Jaxx0911 Says:

I would just like to say that your show is AWSOME, and have a few comments if I may.As I watch the show (season 2)I couldn’t help but notice how two face some of the ppl are in there, there was no reason for the girls two gang up on jamie at all,the only person with a sense of any kind of brain thinking at all is phil and I think he is the best open minded, down to earth about his addiction and try to help along the way.As I see it Kendra and Jennifer are there just for the camera.I also think that Duncan will do anything to be on the side of the girls and kiss there butts,so please the only two that deserve any kind of props in my eyes are Phil and Jamie. The ppl on your show should be true about why they are there, and like I said Phil and James are the only ones in my opinion, also I think Amber should get some props also she is a good person and doesn’t involve herself in the drama the other girls are always looking for …….THANKS for listening.

  • colleen Says:

I followed the program here in Canada and felt the celebrities worked hard. Kari-ann, I hope you didn’t give up your treatment.

The program went deep into issues and I felt three weeks wasn’t long enough-but then again what time frame would be long enough, for abuses and life long struggles? Maybe 6 weeks would have given the group more time to process the wounds that had been opened-and more time to talk about aftercare.

I hope everyone is well on their journey-I hope everyone has reached out for support. Thank you for talking about sexual abuse, addiction and relationship abuses (including self relationship). This is meaningful to most young people living in a sexualized world.

  • STORY......... it showed what you really wanted to get out of it.... ill be praying for you..... Says:

  • Marie Says:

Sexual Addiction – Real or not Real? Everyone has their own opinions. What I do believe, society today is over sexed. Sex is everywhere, so, no wonder there are so many who turn to sex to relieve emotional vacancies. I have enjoyed watching this season of Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew. This show has helped me to understand a small part of my husband’s inner demon and his struggles with sexual addiction and he realizes that he is not alone in his struggles. Although my husband and I are in therapy to understand his addiction and where it comes from, we are reaching out for other resources to attack this demon from all sides. We understand that recovering from sexual addiction is ultimately up to the addict and like all addicts; sobriety of addiction is a lifetime commitment. Hats off to all of those who shared their struggles and turned them around in accomplishment (even KariAnn). Thank You Dr. Drew, and Team, for providing such a show and to VH1 for hosting it. I look forward to another season!

  • Angela Says:

Has anyone else noticed that the commercials running during this show were all for sexually explicit products? It’s in poor taste.

  • jay Says:

Look. Bottom line is addiction sucks. Its not about placing blame. Its about taking responsibility for destructive behavior. “Getting better” takes time and is an on going process. I used to listen to Dr.Drew on the radio and he got through to me. He has good advice for those who want to heal themselves and their lives. These people are going down a long tough road. Congrats to them and I wish them great success. God bless.
