Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew - Peep The Full Cast
The latest Celebrity Rehab spin-off, Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew, will tackle the mostly unexamined world of sex addiction. It debuts Sunday, Nov. 1 at 10/9c. More details are in the press release below, and after that, get a look at the cast of the show on set…
VH1, Dr. Drew and Irwin Entertainment have expanded their documentary series on addiction to examine one of society’s most taboo topics, sex addiction, in the upcoming series Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew. The series is set to premiere on VH1 on Sunday, November 1 at 10pm.
Addictions are nothing new, and most people are aware of those involving alcohol, drugs, and eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, but few know about and understand sex addiction. It afflicts roughly 3%-6% of the American population, and just like other addictions, its impact on personal lives can be devastating. The affliction can wreak havoc on the mental and physical health of those afflicted as well as destroy marriages, families, careers and even finances.
Dr. Drew and a team of the nation’s foremost experts on sexual addiction will guide eight patients through an intensive state of the art program. Living together for 21 days, they’ll meet with Dr. Drew in daily one-on-one and group therapy sessions in order to get to the root of their compulsive behavior.
Dr. Drew is a highly respected practicing MD, is board certified in addiction medicine and assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at KECK USC School of Medicine, who will once again give viewers an unflinching look at exactly how the rehab process works and what it feels like for participants. Dr. Drew hopes to use his patients to humanize the process and show viewers that treatment is a viable way to break the cycle of addiction.
Beginning Monday, October 26 fans can catch a sneak peek of the season’s first episode on VH1.com – one week before the on-air premiere. Subsequent episodes will be available on VH1.com the morning after they air. Additional video content from Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew including extras from each episode will be available on VH1.com and on VH1 Mobile throughout the season.
Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew is executive produced by John Irwin and Bruce Toms for Irwin Entertainment. Dr. Drew Pinsky and Howard Lapides are also executive producing. Jeff Olde, Jill Holmes, and Noah Pollack are executive producers for VH1.

Jennifer Ketchum (aka Penny Flame) – Porn actress / Director / Business woman
Jennifer Ketcham, 26 years old (former adult star known as Penny Flame) is now pursuing a writing career and life in production behind the lens. As an adult performer Jennifer climbed to the top winning over 5 awards and directing educational guides for Vivid. Jennifer still owns her adult website PennyFlame.com (NSFW, duh) and directed and produced all the content on there. Her latest venture has been a confessional blog documenting her struggle to move away from her adult film life as Penny towards becoming Jennie. Taking everything she learned from the show she has remained sober and has been enjoying all the beauties sobriety has to offer.
James “Jamie” Lovett – Surfer / Wakeboarder
James Lovett is one of the world’s top rated surfers and wakeboarders. Lovett, who started surfing before the age of 10, was perfecting aerials at the age of ten. At 14 years old Lovett turned professional and has since dominated the sport winning countless competitions and medals. In 2004, at the age of 17 years old, Lovett climbed his way to the top of the wake surfing when he won the Centurion World Wake Surfing Championships.
Nicole Narain – Model / Playboy Playmate
Soon after becoming Playboy’s Miss January 2002, she appeared in music videos from the likes of Diddy, Mario Wayans and Jermaine Dupri. She’s also appeared on Entourage, Mad TV and American Heiress. She reached a new level of exposure when a sex tape featuring her with Colin Farrel leaked. “That pretty much ruined my life,” she says. Lately, she has been focusing on writing. “I’m ready to purge,” she reports.
Kari Ann Peniche – Beauty queen / Model / Fashion designer
Kari Ann was Miss Oregon Teen USA 2002, competed at Miss Teen USA 2002, won Miss Oregon United States 2003 then went on to win Miss United States Teen 2003. In Nov 2004 she appeared in Playboy. Along with various movie roles, Kari was briefly engaged to Aaron Carter. Her upcoming book, Stripped, Strung Out, and Beautifully Abused, focuses on sexual abuse, domestic violence, power, control, relationships and goals. Her clothing line is Strung Out Girl.
Kendra Jade Rossi – Ex-porn star / Music manager
During her years in the porn industry, Kendra became a well known adult film star. However, she also became tabloid fodder. (Star magazine and Us Weekly accused her of breaking up Kevin Federline and Britney Spears marriage after a trip to Vegas, for example.) She finally left the adult film industry in 2001 on the verge of a complete breakdown. She fell headlong into alcoholism and was also diagnosed as an agoraphobic with severe anxiety and panic disorders, which introduced the world of prescription drug abuse.
In 2007, Kendra was introduced to Lukas Rossi, winner of Rockstar Supernova, by mutual friends, Dave Navarro and Tommy Lee - and the two immediately clicked. They married 4 months after meeting. Kendra will tell anyone who will listen that Lukas saved her life. It was his love and devotion to her that spurred her to face her personal demons and reach out for help and sobriety.
Duncan Roy - Producer / Writer / Director
Duncan directed the acclaimed 2002 film AKA. He has worked as a journalist, and teaches low-budget filmmaking at UCLA extension. See his Wikipedia page for more info.
Amber Smith – Supermodel/Reality TV star/Actress
An internationally recognized supermodel and actress for 20 years, Amber Smith, also acted in films such as L.A. Confidential, American Beauty and The Mirror Has Two Faces. She appeared on the second season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, where she went public with her 16-year addiction to opiate painkillers. On the show, Amber underwent a painful withdrawal from drugs. She also appeared on the Rehab spin-off Sober House.
Phil Varone – Musician
Phil Varone is an accomplished drummer, music producer and songwriter best known for his work with the bands Saigon Kick and Skid Row. In 2004, Phil left Skid Row and the music business to pursue acting and stand up comedy. After moving to Los Angeles, he spent the first two years producing the feature length documentary, Waking Up Dead. Phil also lectures in colleges throughout the United States and is the creator and host of the Sex Stand Up and Rock and Roll Show.

This reminds me of my child hood, I can’t believe that a decade later this stuff still happens and we’re not catching the abuse! Maybe there could be something done in the public schools? A commity for detecting children in abusive homes at our schools would help!? Because what’s being done now isn’t enough!

I am so glad this show is on. I for one have not understood sexual addiction and am getting some insight into it. I have tremendous compassion for most of these people with the exception of Kari Anne. She is intolerable and spoiled.
Go help someone else and get over yourself, that’s a good way to heal.

This is one of the best shows on VH1 the only issue that I have with it is that it seems to be scripted I mean come on sex rehab with porn stars and musican I can exspect to see some sort of porn called sex rehab with dr. screw or something I dont think everyone is there to get better more less there for the camera time

Thank-you VH1. Love & Sex Addiction is a disease that kills. Like all other addicitions, it is about feeling good…avoiding responsibilities or uncomfortable feelings.
Thank God for the 12 step program S.L.A.A. (Sex & Love Addicts Anonymous) & for treatment centers like the Meadows. Unlike AA or NA, this is a disease that forces one to deal with family of origin issues and feelings. The only way out of pain is to go through the pain.
Codependency is where ALL addictions come from. Many try to get their self-esteem from relationships, their work or by people pleasing. The answer comes from within…we must learn how to love ourselves & the importance of a relationship with a Higher Power.
Melodie Beattie, when she came out of rehab asked what she must to stay sober, the counselor’s said, “Identify your feelings, feel your feelings, and learn how to detach from your feelings.”
Thank-you VH1 for helping de-stigmatize this disease… how many have killed themselves because they were not aware of something called codepenedency, or love & sex addiction.
I have been in therapy for 1 1/2 years for love codependency & love addiction. I have been in SLAA for 1 year 4 months. The pain of rejection became so bad, I tried to take my life in July…I now take this disease seriously…I must stay away from bottom line behaviors (contacting the qualifier who broke my heart). One day at a time.
My self-love and self-esteem are growing day by day. In a relationship, I am whole & sufficient without the other.

Thank-you VH1. I attend a 12 step SLAA (Sex & Love Addicts Anonymous) group. Love addiction kills. I used to get my self-esteem from my relationships, my job and being a people pleaser.
When the girl of my dreams dumped me, I was devastated and went into deep depression. I found a therapist & started attending SLAA. It saved my life.
Learning how to love myself, how to be comfortable being by myself and how to identify feelings, feel those feelings & to detach from them is an important life skill.
I also attend a codependancy annonymous 12 step group as well.
I am not perfect, but I am excellent.

this show has opened my heart and eyes to the truth i have been trying to uncover for so long about myself. i do believe i am addicted to love. addicted to trying to love. it is not necessarily sex addiction but all the shades of grey regarding this issue makes it hard to say exactly where i am in the mix. i know i am addicted to the feeling of longing and f being rejected and i am even more addicted to the anticipation of love and the denial or rejection of any kind of intimate relationships.
this show has had a profound effect on my understanding of the dangerous patterns i choose over and over again.
thank you for this show. thank you for shedding light on something that most of us do not totally understand and are trying to get a hold on to improve our futures.
i live i n nyc and have been actively trying to find a love addiction group, but have been unsuccessful. if anyone knows of one, please let me know.

I cannot believe you all fall for this scripted “reality” crap. This is the worst show I’ve seen on Vh-1. These losers all know exactly what they are doing. They’re depraved deviant adults. They are not children and none of their childhood stories touched me in the least. I’ve heard worse. As for Dr. Drew, he needs to tell it like it is, instead of simply saying “uh huh, uh huh, mmm hmmm, how does that make you feel?” Therapy is such a crock. If Penny/Jenn whatever her name is, said she was/is a “monster” it’s because she freakin is!!! And Drew should acknowledge it! None of these people have any sense of morality or what is good, only what is wrong and evil hence she is and has been a monster. It’s the damn truth. As for Amber, she is addicted to nothing but attention. She is a spoiled brat. Kari Ann doesn’t need help. None of these people do. They have a corrupt depraved selfish life style. RE: Keri Ann- Just because her behavior is annoying, does not mean she is worthless or ugly or whatever. She behaves the way she does because she FEELS worthless and ugly.
She is hard to watch, but it seems the most hurt and damaged people are the hardest to help and understand.
What kind of rehab do we all need to treat the fact that the only way we can deal with people is by judging them harshly? Let’s all just have a heart.

OMG! Kari Ann is a hot mess!!! I have never seen such a spoiled baby in my life. It almost seems as if she uses her troubled past as a bridge for getting things. Like for example, she acts like this…I’m having a hard time b/c I was abused, can I have some juice when I wake up!! PPPLLLEEEAAASSSEEE!!!! Everyone has to deal with the hand they were delt with Kari Ann. I have also had my share of hard times (specifically my father’s death when I was 6, my sister was 3, and my brother was 3 weeks old!!!) But I have always tried to see the light at the end of the tunnel and some days it’s a pretty dim light, but it’s always there. I know Dr. Drew you would argue and say that Kari Ann needs to release these feelings and such…… But she also needs to realize that basic social skills are needed by everyone. Even when you are having the worst time in your life, does not mean you have any right to treat others as if they are no more important than the gum that stuck to the bottom of your shoe. I really respect Amber. Even though she is having quite a time, she nevers forgets how to treat others with respect and kindness they deserve. Especially in a situation such as Sex Rehab, you almost have to be extra sensitive of others, because everyone is vulnerable and hurting. Kari Ann you can take your “Princess Requests” and shove them!!!! I am sorry for your past and how it has effected your present and future. But acting like a spoiled brat will leave you with no friends and an even deeper feeling of sadness and lonliness. Maybe it’s something for you to think about!!!

WOW!!!! Dr. Drew is the greatest. He saved my life. Fifteen or so years ago, while I was watching the Dr. Drew and Adam show, a girl (like myself), who was attracting the same type of bad men over and over, was so distraught, Drew actually left his chair in the middle of the show to help the girl. His advice to her was to get professional help. I identified with her so much, I took the advice he gave to her. He turned my life around, but like Amber, I have so many demons to quench, I soon fell into other addictions; and, here he is advising me again, and I am sure, so many others. I thank him for his care and patience, and all the brave famousities for their candidness and willingness to share their @~%!@)!%$`+@$_$~ ed up lives with all of us. It’s about time someone had the balls to do a show like this.

Ive been struggling not to throw something at my tv when Keri Anne appears and smarts off by having a smart +`(`$!~&(!&$`@! comment, rude undertone, or just scarcastic remarks. She is narsocistic and unconsiouslt wants all the attention on her. She will begin to address his addiction when she figures out there is such thing a negative attention. I know that her need for attention only fuels her need for sex.. and she gets her attention “fix” from a male by engaging in sexual activities. If she would learn to communicate properly and have an intelligent conversation with someone she would have to resort to sex to recieve that attention. Everyone else seems to realize the importance and significance of their role on the show and how they can be a role model for others struggling. There is always one drama queen or the person you love to hate..
I wanted to thank Amber for her stories and opening up because I spoke to my father the day before he passed and had just moved out of the house.. it was just him and myself. He had just gotten out of the hospital a few days before and was doing better until I calle don a Sunday and he said he wasn’t feeling as well as he had been. The next morning i left my apartment he had helped fix up for me, I went to take him leftover pasta… I entered my childhood home to find my world, my daddy, cold and hard in his chair. I relate to Amber because I model and have struggled with some addictions of my own.. I also had a mother that exposed me to prescription drugs. She has changed her life and no longer abuses drugs.. it was perfect timing.. She started to become a parent right before my father passed. He was my everything.. He had two purple hearts, built Playland Toy Stores, worked on the railroad, inventor, and was a R.N. (the one person you can ask anything and they have the answer and always had something positive or constructive to say to me.

I watched the first two shows of this series as well as the first and second celebrity rehabs. Of particular interest to me is the case of Amber Smith. Wow, this woman is really beautiful (not just sexy beautiful-which all will acknowledge) dah, but beautiful inside. She seems to be like the little girl who was always lead down the path and usually the wrong path. Then when she grew up it seems that that was the past that was destined for her. However, that’s BS. I really admire Dr. Drew and his staff. Poor Amber has been the puppet for many a sick individual all throughout her life and just got caught up in it. Whether it was free drugs at first to drugs that came with strings attached (SEX) and or just friends to be able to score one or both. And what kind of friends are these really. In the end there is this 38 year old woman who is trying to peace it all together who NOW has to depend on her last vesiges of LOOKS to keep her and her Mom’s bellies fed and a roof over there head. By now NO MAN would marry her or he would be the laughing stock of Hollywood. I know that you shoose the path you take inevitably but how much more can this woman take. Then I think, why does she do these4 shows? Does she get paid to appear or is the care and after-care free. I would like to understand the incentive (other to get better) of appearing on these shows. And why does Amber feel she has to take care of her Mother at this point who appears to be the ultimate Mooch? Is it because she really loves her Mother or were they drinkin’ buddies at one time?? She seems like she gets it when she is in group and in the one on one’s. But put her back outside where she is unprotected and -Wham_ she reverts. I have to say that it is refreshing to see that she has not relapsed on the drinkin’ and druggin’. She wants to be independant but does she really?? People who are around her always want something from her-so she must be extra vigilante to keep up those walls-strictly from a safety perspective. I do see now how the SEX ADDICT is different from the drug or alcoholic in that this is down to the bare bones “sex is a good thing” kind of mentality except when one uses or abuses it as a tool. It’s more easily displayed and accepted that a woman would become addicted to sex. My question to Dr. Drew is would these women consider themselves to be “nymphomaniacs”?? What really hit me was when Amber said she would get in her car and cruise for a guy. Man doesn;t she know the danger she is putting herself in. You end up soing that in Texas and you disappear. An admirer of all of the shows especially this one. Hang in there Amber, I’m prayin’ for you. Sometimes that’s all one can do from so far away but I will attest it does work. Thanks All. Michael I.
