As much as I CANT STAND that Kari Ann (sp) she is supposed to be in a “safe controlled environment” and that donkey grabbing her hair extensions like that is NOT OK. Although it has been clear that KA deserves a good %~+@@_@#+)`@~#! kicking she really does need to sue that idiot who did that to her.

As much as she can be a @%&@`%*~~&$%_&(+( I don’t think she crossed any boundaries…I mean she is a patient and it’s expected for her to be irritable throughout the process. And it seemed like from the beginning that Selma has been egging her on by getting in her face, talking down to her, etc. Even if that is a normal “reflex” for a certain person, that certain person should not be working in a rehab center where that kind of “reflex” can cause problems.
I don’t think that employee should have been fired. It is NOT ok for Kari Ann to act like that, and physically attack the employee. The employee’s should have the RIGHT to defend themselves from the patients.
I think it was obvious from day one Selma and Kari Ann had conflicting personalities and maybe shouldn’t of been working together. I am saddened by Selmas departure I think she showed amazing constraint up to the “vase” incident. Kari Ann is a spoiled brat and I understand her “irritability” but she shouldnt even be there to begin with she is not serious about getting help and needs a reality check
I cannot disagree more with what has taken place on this weeks episode. Kari Ann is the one that through the vase. SHE attacked SELMA. Selma should NOT have been fired. If someone attacked me, I sure would defend myself. It was completely wrong firing her. And then everyone gathering around Kari Ann like she did nothing wrong. This makes me very angry.
I do not agree. I think Kari Ann should have gone too, because she clearly threw that vase at her. Just because it’s rehab, does not excuse bad behavior. I have been to rehab, and they do restrain patients. Kari Ann was given a pass for bad behavior. That is why kids are so bad today. We just excuse it, or reason with them. I grew up in a home where I got some kind of punishment, and there was none for Kari Ann. The behavior was seen as ok, and she still continued to do it through out the episode.
I’m sick of watching Kari Ann be able to push everybody’s buttons and disrespect everybody whenever she wants and still get preferential treatment by allowing her to stay. That idiot b#@ needs psychiatric treatment before she even needs to consider rehab. & the sad part is that it is obvious that she knows she is pushing everybody’s buttons and getting away with it. She so needs to be kicked out. Selma may have been wrong for reacting as she did, but the fact remains that had that little b#@ gone to group like she was supposed to, none of it would have happened, and she did instigate the reaction by throwing an object at her. I think Kari Ann seems to be someone who has some sick sense of entitlement that most beauty queens have. She needs to have all attention on her at all times and seeking it in negitive ways…And Dr.Drew plays right into it, by giving her the attention that she feels she deserves. Leavining the group therepy and putting her ahead of everyone else in treatment is what she wants. She wants to be the PRINCESS and its sick!!! SEX IS ATTENTION for her as well as everything else!!!
Kari Ann is simply playing her part. The fact that Dr. Drew coddles her endlessly only proves that he is more interested in keeping drama and conflict around. I thought Dr. Pinsky was a respectable physician but he shows no guts in dealing with Kari Ann. The other patients rehab is suffering because of her. How long before Kari Ann has Shelly in tears, Drew? We all know how Shelly is? Did the show’s producers ask you to manufacture more B.S. drama instead of actually helping patients? Get real Dr. Drew and stop exploiting patients for your personal gains. Real doctors are heroes more so behind the scenes than in front.
I was really upset at the way Dr. Drew & his staff handled the situation with the counselor and KariAnn. If your policy is that you needed to fire her that’s one thing…but to sit and lie & claim that she provoked KariAnn and minimize the fact that KariAnn was out of line is UNACCEPTABLE! They both crossed the line & KariAnn should have been removed from the program too! Why didn’t you or your +!!$#!%_)!~)~@$ istant get up to see why she wasn’t in group? or challenge her behavior? The girl clearly has a mental problem that goes far beyond a sex addicition!
So will Kari Ann breaking the rules, by using the phone after hours be addressed. I ~$(*(^!^~#~#^*% ume not, because she is still there. She signed a contract about her behavior and was supposed to be kicked out if she broke the contract. I would think following the house rules would be in the contract. The amount of leeway given to this chick is unbelievable. And to add insult to injury the staff twisted the encounter she had with Selma, to garner sympathy from the other house members. Selma was wrong and acknowledged that she was and left with dignity. There was not need to further malign her. It was disgusting.

I don’t think I am going to continue to watch this show. I was appalled when the therapists gave kari ann the right in the incident with Selma. Kari Ann has been pushing Selma around since day 1. Dr. Drew, you disappointed me. No one should put their hands on another, but Kari Ann getting the right on this incident was 100% WRONG!!! If you watch the video, Kari Ann pushed Selma in her doorway when Selma was trying to get her to group. 2x in one episode Kari Ann demonstrated violence. Selma was the one who had to bring “princess” her juice. Give me a break. The approach of the therapists giving Princess the right was so wrong!!! The show is joke!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve never understood why Selma (or the girls in the rehab group) have felt the need to create so much drama for Kari Ann just because she wants to sleep in or occasionally do her own thing. Not all people have the same biological sleep requirements and it very well could be the case that she needs more sleep than average. Also, if she needs personal time for introspection and wants to sit something out, those needs should be respected. Selma was a negative force who was disrespectful and antagonistic to Kari Ann every step of the way. It always felt like she enjoyed her power over Kari Ann a little too much. I think her true colors came out in this episode and I hope Kari Ann is able to be treated in a more civil, respectful environment as a result.
Bottom line she can’t put her hands on the patients. My sister worked in a nursing home and lost her license to care for people after having a reflex with a patient that hit her. Even if the lady was hit with the vase, she can not hit a patient. She had to be fired. Plus, she really got too frustrated with Kari Ann. Who the f’ cares if she gets up or goes to group. SERIOUSLY.

I believe it s an extreme passive aggressive script that she developed as a coping mechanism before. She needs to appear to be the sympathetic victim. Where in she pushes and pushes someone she perceives as a threat. The when that person has had enough they retaliate. At which point she claims total innocence and the threat is removed. It seems obvious to me that is this is a working coping mechanism for her. Clearly she needs help with this sort of thing but I don’t believe Selma should not have been fired for it. Extreme as it is Dr. Drew or Jill or any of the staff reviewing the tapes should have seen this coming. I did. I certainly feel bad for the patients and their persons need to be protected in that environment but the staff members need protection as well when dealing with people who are possibly Very unstable or in a Hannibal Lecteresque way psychotic. Again Kari many not necessarily have understood what she was doing but she was following a path like a script running in her head with purpose and intent subconsciously or other wise.

You know in this episode where Selma got fired. Due to administrative issues it was cool, but, during the whole time Kari Ann has been there she’s been talking to Selma like Selma is a dog. Kari Ann is very mean and something should of happened to her as well besides signing a document agreeing that she will be at all group meetings and if not she’s kicked out. This girl threw a vase at Selma. A person can only take so much.

I cannot believe that Dr.Drew fired Selma and kept Kari Ann. Selma was trying to do her job and she grabbed at Kari Ann’s shirt. That little b**** Kari Ann should’ve been kicked out. I totally believe that today’s episode was very unfair towards Selma. As much as I understand that KariAnne is a patient and is expected to sometimes be agressive, but everything put aside, she is a spoiled brat, who is constantly pushing people’s buttons, and provoking people, to get people do whatever she wants one by one, anf if it’s not her way, she’ll do the impossible to get you out!
I don’t think it is fair for the patients to side with Kari Ann. She provoked Selma and Selma’s natural reaction took over. I know Selma should have tried to be more professional, but after having someone push your buttons for weeks, something is going to give. I think Kari Ann is poison and doesn’t positively help the group. She should have been made to leave.
Dr. Drew you and your therapy are a joke. Selma absolutely did get fired because of Kari Ann per se. I am not condoning what Selma did in anyway but to reward negative behavior like throwing a vase, refusing to participate in treatment and being generally disrespectful to your fellow housemates and the staff is RIDICULOUS!! Kari Ann should have suffered the same fate as Selma not get an apology from the group. You are enabling her to continue acting like a child. Bad things happen and if you are not willing to accept the help that is so readily available then there is nothing that anyone can do.
For the reasons stated above I will no longer watch anymore shows that Dr. Drew. I have lost complete respect for you and I think you were wrong to hang Selma out to dry like that.

Keri Ann is really quite the little manipulator if you really play close attention to her behavior.She thinks she is better than everyone else and has alack of self respect about herself.This lack of respect for herself she openly acts upon other and over step boundaries.Selma didn’t deserve that level of disrespect from a patient.Who should be committed to the treatment in the first place.Selma isn’t somebody’s maid or a target board to throw stuff at once someone is upset.Keri Ann really has a negative personality and energy that is very toxic to the group.I don’t think Keri Ann is mature or ready to handle group therapy but needs one on one.Keri Ann has very deeply disturb emotional problems and being in group therapy is only scraping the tip of the ice berg.

I think that Dr. Drew and Jill whatever flat out lied about what happened. We all saw the tape and what they said happened was completely false. She did not yank her or push her into the room. I AM SO FURIOUS. While I do not agree with violence in any form I also do not agree with Dr. Drew and his staff for allowing Keri Ann to push hate and racism around like it was her badge of honor. She clearly has a problem with black women from Selma to the PCA Administrator. The proof “I’m tired of dealing with ghetto people.” Had Dr. Drew taken care of this problem with Kari Ann immediately Selma would still have her job. White people need to realize racism is a trigger for blacks(keri ann does) and apparently Keri Ann is smarter than Dr. Drew and his staff her whole goal was to get Selma “out of her face” permanently. wow ok this is a tuffy hear me out as far as selma being terminated yes it seems unfair but when selma was hired for the job in which she was involed with unstable and otherwise unpredictible patients there is an understood oath that no matter what there can be no phyical contact with a patients…and more importantly sex addicts. and selma knew this and thats why when she left she handle herself with grace and pose regaurdless of the reason it happened…NOW as for KA, DR. D needs to have not sent her home but to have had her baker actted the first week she was their all of the signs are there for many diffrent issuse one of which is malidaptive behaivoral patterns and with that those needed to be addressed prior to sex rehab because she is not able to gain from this treatment yet.
For weeks Selma had to get Kari Ann juice and basically be treated like her servant. Dr. Drew should have known that this situation was boiling over and resentments were festering. He chose to ignore this and continue to let Kari Ann dictate and manipulate her situation without addressing or punishing her bad behavior. This episode clearly showed that the show is more interested in sensationalism. Because if Dr. Drew were interested in what was best for the patients, all patients, including Kari Ann,she would be gone. She is clearly not ready to make a committment to her recovery. She needs psychiatric help, not just sex rehab. Her problems are too deep and ingrained, at this point. But, you keep her there for the drama at the detriment of the other patients and now a staff member. I was truly saddened by what I saw in this episode. Dr. Drew and his staff handled this situation very poorly. Kari Ann got exactly what she wanted. It was clear when she started spouting “I don’t want her fired or anything”, ” I don’t want to write up an incident report”. Both Selma and Kari Ann should have had consequences to their actions.
now as far as Dr. D..weather or not he has something to gain personal or otherwise..as far as the lie, thats not true they as docters twist things in a setting to keep things to an even keal between others.. the patients needed the apology not for KA sake but more for there own to know someone they inner act with have be put in the situation where their personal physical boundiers crossed …………..NOWWWWWW as for VH1 they are gaining in a way that is wrong very wrong how dare they as a corperation run tv commercial spots with sexual seggestive products if there are people that are gainine from the show because they cant go to rehab or are to embaressed to say they have a problem just when they gain from it there addiction is thrown back in there faces and almost as if VH1 is taking the show as a crule joke…i dont have any addictions but i have lost many valued people in my life to addiction.. know that there are things that can set off a chain reaction in there minds…and we as sober people need to be mindful of those things..
