TRANSform Me, Famous Crime Scene, Undateable: Coming Soon To VH1

In the coming months, VH1 is set to air a slew of new shows, including TRANSform Me, a makeover show featuring I Want To Work for Diddy Season 1 breakout Laverne Cox. Details on that and more in the press release below:

VH1 has greenlit three new series, two about transforming people from the inside out and one that hopes to shed some light on a few untimely deaths. TRANSform Me features three transgender female friends giving women a style makeover while helping them overcome some emotional road bumps. In Famous Crime Scene VH1 will take the viewers to an actual crime scene of a famous murder or untimely death and explore the details behind the often murky circumstances. Undateable based on the upcoming book, Undateable: 311 Things Guys Do That Guarantee They Won’t be Dating or Having Sex written by Ellen Rakieten and Anne Coyle, will reveal the secret list that gives guys everything they need to know to get out of their own way when it comes to dating, sex, love and relationships transforming them from undateable to dateable. VH1 has also acquired the hit MTV Canada series, Peak Season: Vancouver just as the world focuses its attention on this beautiful city for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

These programming additions come on the heels of several recent ratings successes with new series such as Fantasia For Real and Let’s Talk About Pep, which premiered in January to more than 2.3 million viewers and 1.9 million viewers, respectively.

TRANSform Me

VH1 and Left/Right Inc. have teamed up to bring to television the newest breed of fashion makeover shows withTRANSform Me. Each half-hour episode follows the makeover of one woman who has found herself in a style nightmare. The subjects expect to be made over in typical reality show fashion, but are in for a surprise when a team of three transgender women arrive to give them an expert transformation. The new eight-episode 30-minute series is set to premiere March 15, 2010.

The ultra glamorous makeover team, led by Laverne Cox (VH1’sI Want to Work for Diddy) with Jamie Clayton and Nina Poon, travel across the country answering style-911 calls in their deluxe fashion ambulance, saving women from their clothing faux pas. But unlike other makeover shows, this series focuses on overall transformations, helping to improve each woman on the inside as well as the outside. The team will have to push each subject out of her emotional comfort zones and there will be no shortage of tears, arguments, and OMG! moments along the way.

Laverne, who appeared in the first season of VH1’sI Want to Work for Diddy as the outspoken and poised transgender contestant, has also recently appeared in episodes of NBC’sLaw and Order, HBO’sBored to Death along with several independent films, and has performed at Radio City Music Hall.

Based on an original concept and pitch by Laverne Cox and her production company Complete World Domination, TRANSform Me is executive produced by Banks Tarver and Ken Druckerman for Left/Right Inc. with Shelly Tatro, Danielle Gelfand, Kari McFarland and Jeff Olde serving as executive producers for VH1.

  8. Elliot L says:

Getting Laverne back on VH1? MAJOR STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION! However, the slew of new shows coming all sound as lackluster as possible. Is the relationship between 51Minds finally too strained to continue? Flavor of Love/Rock of Love is what made VH1 such a cult hit with a select reality TV audience, but Tool Academy 3?!?! And no mention of a new I Love Money??? Things aren’t looking good.

  10. Taylor says:

Dumb! And why John Lennon? he was shot by some psychopath. What is there to analyze? I would watch it if Kurt Cobain was on.. Also why Anna Nicole Smith? She was white trash that got hooked onto pain mess and other drugs.. Happens to many people each day, but since she was famous, there must be some hidden clue or conspiracy… Jeez Vh1 has gone done the crapper. Every person who has a “dating show” was from another one! Why is Vh1 giving reality shows to every slut and douche out there? They suck.

  11. renee says:

I would love to see famous crime scene, but I don’t understand what there is to investigate about john lennons murder. If there is a second season they should investigate Kurt cobain and Jim Morrison, that would be way more interesting that Anna nicole smith.

  12. alan says:

all hell ya about time,I thought laverne was over with .That’s a diva.

  13. katie says:

VH1 should do a famous crime scene of Kurt Cobain. They could highlight both the suicide theory and the murder theory. I know Nirvana fans would appreciate it!!

  14. Jason says:

vh1 should definitely do Kurt Cobain on Famous Crime Scenes. I’m suprised they didn’t consider him for the first season.

That’s something that worth to be broadcasted!

  18. Jane says:

Generally not a reality show fan, BUT the premise of this show caught my eye and I think it sends a FANTASTIC message. What a wealth of work and emotional itelligence that a transgenedered person must have. What a gift to share their exprience for becoming and fighting for who they REALLY are, in every way; this is something that we all struggle with on some level not matter what gender, race or economic status we belong to. The girls are awesome and I think VH1 is ahead of the game on this one.

  19. tammy says:

A show about cross dressers who help girls with makeovers? Are some girls so bad at fixing themselves up that they need strange men doing it for them? Gross.

  20. amy says:

tammy alot of transexual women put regular women too shame,

and if you look at all famous female celebs, crisitina aguilera, britney spears, pam anderson, marliyn monroe, madonna, anna nicole,

the only reason there considered the hottest women alive and the only reason they are is beacuse they have a flock of gays and transexuals behind them doing their hair n makeup

and teaching them how to be fierce, its time transexuals bring it and show that there the ones full of talent, not women!

ps. alot of women are born with male dna! fact! and your too ignorant to understand that,

  21. Troy says:

I just saw an episode on VH1, and I completely love it. I can’t wait for the DVD’s to come out.

  22. Teena says:

@ Amy, it’s so sad as a female that you would say that. Please seek help. Anyway, when watching Transform Me all I could say, THESE ARE DUDES WEARING DRESSES. Women falling for the garbage it must be stylish if performed by a gay person…puhleeze! Happy Patty’s Day!

  23. Mark says:

I don’t appreciate all of the racial comments made by the Americans of African decent. Just because you are an Americans of African decent does not give you the right to constantly put down other people.
Example: Black people wear the cool shorts. We don’t wear the uncool short. Pro-black and anti-everything else.

  24. Alex says:

I like “Undateable.” But really, not ever girl/guys thinks the guys they describe are sexy! I mean Criss Angel? You think he is “undateable?” There are a lot of women/men in this world who think Criss is the sexist man alive! Skulls? A lot of women like skulls. Most of the traits they people are talking about make guys douche bags in some of our eyes! Some things we may agree on. But if guys really take all this into consideration and be like these guys, its going to be HELL for women/men who like the whole bad boy rocker guy. I personally think skinny jeans on a guy is very attractive! Not all women/men have to same perspective on the “ideal” man. Im just saying these is a VERY stereotypical TV show!

Kurt killing himself makes no sense to me at all. The crime scene points to murder in itself. In my opinion, the cops didn’t do their jobs the day that Kurt was found dead. All they did was jump to the first conclusion, whatever Courtney was telling them. We all know she is no good at all. She made up lies about Kurt. Why she did it? I don’t know. Everything in me says that she had something o do with Kurt’s death. R.I.P. Kurt Cobain 1967-1994. ?
