  4. Smith says:

How in the hell could you snub Memphis from the the Dirty South Hip Hop Honers???? 3-6-mafia, 8-ball & MJG, Yo Gotti, Memphitz, Al Capone, Project Pat, Gangsta Pat, Jazze Pha (Yes, Jazze Pha is from Memphis), Gangsta Boo, La Chat …come on!!!

  5. Big Sean says:

    OK… 3 things:

    1. Of all the Southern hip hop CLASSICS that have been produced over the 25+ years of music from below the Mason-Dixon, HOW DO YOU END THE SHOW ANTI-CLIMATIC WITH PITBULL?!?!? And his song was hot in the club, but not THAT hot! C’mon Son!

    2. Where was Cash Money?!?! Luke Skywalker basically got honored twice; once for himself and then for 2 Live. WTF?!?! If anybody deserved to be honored Twice it should have been the Dungeon Family-1st Generation/Organized Noize AND Outkast. I ain’t the biggest Baby & Weezy fan, but give them their just due.

    3. Still scratching my head about missing out on an Outkast honor… anywho, How do you NOT honor 8Ball & MJG and Suave House Records when talking about southern hip hop???

Allot of hype, but kinda fizzled for me.

  6. Nique says:

I enjoyed the show, but it was not complete without one of the dirty dirty south cities, Memphis. I can’t believe Memphis was not represented in the Dirty South Hip Hop Honors. That is messed up.

  7. Nique says:

I enjoyed the show, but it was not complete without one of the dirty, dirty south cities, Memphis, TN. I can’t believe Memphis was not represented in the Dirty South Hip Hop Honors. That is messed up. I missed the first 20 minutes of the show, and I )&~%$~(&#^~`^!% umed that Memphis had to have been at the beginning. I was shocked when I saw the repeat of the show, and they were not represented. That was very disappointing, and I am not from Memphis.

  8. FVH1 says:

  17. JWhite says:

You people can be serious. How can Memphis, TN not be recognized at these awards. Memphis invented Crunk/Tear the Club Up sound. The beats with the consistent Hi Hat. Eightball and MJG were the FIRST artist from the south respected by NYC as being true southern lyricists. Three 6 was one of the first southern acts to go gold/platinum. Three 6 was banned from clubs state to state for their intoxicating crunk style. They one an OSCAR!!! What about Playa Fly, Skinny Pimp, Al Capone, Gangsta Pat, Tela, the list goes on. You guys cant be serious right now. How does VA or anyone from that matter get credit before the MTown. Even Lil John has admitted on numerous occasions that his whole style came from Memphis. Its clear that whoever does the research for you guys must be the same guy that gave Sisqo and JLO best Hip-Hop song at the MTV awards some time ago. This was disrepectful….What about Texas and Tony Draper….He was the originator of independent Music. This was a joke!!

  18. Ra Ra says:

This show was lacking in too many ways!! This was a big disappointment, probably should have talked to someone that has lived in the South, not someone who has only heard Dirty South songs on the radio! The song selection was TIRED!!!!!

Where was the tribute to Memphis 8Ball and MJG, 3-6 Mafia and the list goes on and on…

There should have definitely been more of a tribute to Outkast…Timbaland should have been next year…Dirty South Label was questionable and is even more so after watching that awful performance

  19. Allie says:

    KEELEY MANGENO ROCKS!!

  20. Karen says:

What happened to Memphis? 3 Six Mafia, Project Pat, 8 Ball & MJG, Yo Gotti, I could go on and on. Why was Memphis not recognized? 3 Six Mafia got the Oscar!

  21. Nadia says:

I am so done with vh1. I was watching those lame @$$ reality shows suppoting Vh1 but after seeing your hip hop honors dirty south show, I am truly insulted. How could you miss so many southern producers? How is it possible you snubed MEMPHIS? You got it wrong. I know you really don’t care right now because you got what you wanted & that is millions of viewers, but I feel violated and disgusted at the whole thing.

  22. TimeWatcher says:

I personally think the 2 Live Crew (Fresh Kid Ice and Brother Marquis sucked without “Luke”. I recently saw Fresh Kid Ice and Marquis at a concert and the show was ok not a BLAST. Fresh Kid Ice looked very sickly is he okay? He should not be performing.

  23. Winston M says:

I am looking for information about the ad that was displayed during the VH1 hip hop awards show June 8/210 at noon please senn info about the commercial about ulcerative colitis Thank you

  24. Snipes says:

I am not supprised at all that VH1 didn’t recognize Memphis. Memphis is seen as the country little brother of Atlanta. Even though 8Ball and MJG and 36 Mafia have sold over 20 MILLION albums worldwide each. Yo Gotti had 2 radio SMASH singles in the last 2 months with 5 star chick and women lie men lie. 5 star chick was produced by one of the hottest up and comming producers in the country Hot Rod (also from Memphis). Super-Producer Drumma Boy (Jeezy, Rocko, Wayne, your favorive rapper) wasn’t even mentioned even though almost every performer has a radio smash with a beat he produced. It’s ok though because Memphis will continue to do what we do best. That is saturate the world with GREAT music. There are several indie hip-hop artist in Memphis making national noise like Skewby, Crown Holdaz, Marco Da Don, Kinfolk Thugs, Kronic, ect.. My personal favorite of the bunch is Crown Holdaz. They are the hottest thing in Memphis right now! Check them out if you don’t believe me. http://www.reverbnation.com/CrownHoldaz

  25. adrian says:

hey cutie i miss you all i hope to see you love you all

  26. Miz. Ash says:

I got 2 give it up to VH1. The show was a great combination of southern rap.. There were several left out, but I know time is an issue. But here is a lil word of advice, next time a Dirty South show is put 2gthr consider havn it in the SOUTH!!!!

  27. THRILL DA PLAYA says:

VH1 GOT IT RIGHT!!!SHOUTS OUT MEMPHIS AND ERY1 THAT FEELS LIKE VH1 GOT IT WRONG,BUT THEY DIDNT. ALL THE HONOREES OPENED THE DOOR FOR ALL THE ARTIST YALL NAMING AND SHOULD BE HONORED 1ST. HELL AS A MEMBER OF 69 BOYZ, I’VE OUTSOLD EVERY ARTIST THEY HONORED AS A ARTIST, PLUS I HAVE THE LONGEST RUNNING SINGLE IN THE HISTORY OF THE BILLBOARD RAP CHARTS,WROTE TOOTSEE ROLL, CMON RIDE THAT TRAIN, SPACE JAM, WHOOT THERE IT IS,AND MORE . DRAPER FOR BRINGING LIGHT TO BALL & G,TELA AND MORE. YOU CANT HONOR THE STUDENTS B4 THE TEACHER. BESIDES THIS IS THE VH1 HONORS……RAP THAT IS RELEVANT TO MAINSTREAM AMERICA. WANNA BE RECONIZED? MAKE MORE MAINSTREAM MUSIC. U CANT MAKE CROSSOVER COME TO U, W/O MUSIC THAT HAS MASS,MASS,MASS,MASS APPEAL! NOT JUST MUSIC TO APPEAL TO THE STREETS OF THE SOUTH AND U WILL GET THERE.

    HONOR OUTKAST B4 ORGANIZED NOIZE?=NOT!!
    HONOR 69 BOYZ B4 LUKE?=NOT!
HONOR CASH MONEY B4 NO LIMIT?=NOT!!!!!!!
    HONOR ANYBODY N ATLANTA B4 J.DUPRI? NOT!!!
HONOR ANY1 FROM TEXAS B4 JPRINCE!!!!! NOT

THANK YOU TO VH1 YALL GOT IT RIGHT!

  28. Hollywood says:

  29. kris says:

screw vh1 & the whole bs on the dirty south hip hop awards for leaveing out tn all 2geather what the hell about 36 & the rest of the tn crew screw vh1

  30. Mel says:

When is VH1 Hip Hop Honors going to recognize the Latino influence, in the hip hop culture. A lot of the Black and Brown hostilities is due to the lack of knowledge of the shared struggles and achievements of the two cultures. The two groups have co-existed in the same community for decades and both have contributed to it substantially.

  31. Master Matt P says:

It was Representing the Dirty SOuth They started hip hop Cash money is to new to be put in this years Dirty south
