Bridal Bootcamp Cast Blogs – Green Team – Episode 2

bbc_2_green

While filming Bridal Bootcamp, each of its brides-to-be (as well as their trainers) kept journals of their experience that we’ll share every week here on this blog. The behind-the-scenes insight continues below with the Green Team’s members weighing in on this week’s episode. Included are Kelley’s thoughts on her elimination…

Courtney

bbc_2_green_courtneyWhat a rough week! The week began normally with our regular workouts and dieting. The big event was the Marital Mission, which ending up being a complete bust for the Green Bridal Party. I don’t believe it was anyone’s fault in particular that we lost, but regardless, we were up for elimination and we had to face the fact that someone would be going home. As soon as we lost the mission, I had a feeling that I would be the one eliminated. This was for two reason: even though the Green Bridal Party won the mission last week, I was in the bottom two for weight loss on my team. I also knew from various workouts that I move at a slower pace, and therefore I am viewed as the weakest member of the team. I just figured that I would be eliminated. I discussed this with my team, saying that I didn’t want to go home, but that I would probably be the one chosen to go home. We discussed whether or not I should martyr myself, which I was willing to do if I was in the bottom two again. I decided if I was not in the bottom two I would stay and continue to compete. Once elimination time came, I was thoroughly shocked to find out that I had lost more weight than Kacey or Kelley. So I stuck to my guns and stayed, which I believe was the right decision. As I had discussed with my team, I have just as much a right to be here as much as anyone else, and the goal of the show is weight loss, not a test to see who can run the fastest.

I was very surprised that Francesca verbally attacked me during elimination. It definitely made me feel small, and I don’t think that it was right of her to do that. Now my relationship with Francesca is strained, but I have decided that I have to motivate myself and not rely on help from her, because I am not going to get it. In the end, that will probably make me even stronger.

Seeing Kelley go was horrible. She was a great teammate and I will miss her immensely. However, I know she is very driven and will continue to diet and exercise on her own. I am really proud of her and I know she will go on to do great things.

Looking ahead to this week, I hope that I am able to keep successfully exercising even with the odd situation between Francesca and myself. I hope that my team recovers from losing Kelley. I am glad to be around for another week, and I am hopeful that we won’t go to the fitting room again.

Kacey

bbc_2_green_kaceyWell then, where to start really? The Martial Mission caught me completely off guard. I don’t really like to swim. I mean I’ll do it, but I’ve never been “formally” taught. I can keep myself alive, but there’s nothing Olympic about it. I was handed a lovely one-piece bathing suit and instantly felt as though I had been run over by a truck. The mission was simple: get the presents out of the water. Unfortunately, Blue had some amazing speed and quick hands under the water. We eventually found ourselves in the fitting room, a place where I did not want to be (mostly because of those beautiful spandex outfits). It was there that I found out some devastating news: 1 lb. I knew I didn’t feel a change in my body, but jeez, I lost 1 lb.? So there I was with Kelley, one of the nicest girls I have ever met, pleading to Conde to let me stay. I was a crying mess but made it clear that I would continue to work as hard as I could. Thankfully, I’m still here but without a close teammate, Kelley. I promised Conde I wouldn’t be in the bottom two again. That means a lot more cardio and a lot more sweat.

Kelley

bbc_2_green_kelleyWell the 9 lb. weight loss was a great encouragement going into the second week. It was really needed to keep positive. This week we definitely stepped up the intensity and it got a lot harder, but honestly, I like the new challenge. And it’s been great being able to see the changes in not only my body, but also my skin and my energy level.

After last week’s Marital Mission, I was really excited for this next one. But I must say that after learning we would be wearing bathing suits, I felt a little nervous. It’s one thing to go on vacation and wear one, but it’s totally different to be on national television in one…but I wasn’t about to let that slow me down in the mission. They brought us out in front of the pool and explain the mission. It didn’t seem too hard but I just wondered what the best approach would be. We start the mission and seem to be in the lead. Then I look out and see we have two presents left and they only have one! I have no idea how it happened, but they beat us. The only thing I could think was, “Someone is going home.”

I would never have guessed that someone would be me. When I landed in the bottom two with Kacey, I knew I was going home. I was really disappointed to be leaving so early and for two reasons. First, I wasn’t going to win that dream wedding I had been fighting for. Second, I hadn’t reached my goal weight yet. But I am not going to let that stop me. I plan on taking all that I’ve learned about eating right and exercising and using it when I get back home. I don’t want to be healthy just for me — I want to show my fiancé and also my future children, so they can grow up and be healthy and strong. Well, as hard as it was, I am going to miss boot camp and all the wonderful people that I met along the way. Thanks to all who have helped me start my journey to a new, healthy lifestyle!

Lauren

bbc_2_green_laurenI was extremely disappointed in my weight loss last, but it actually benefited me because the Green Bridal Party lost the second Martial Mission and had to go into the fitting room to get weighed in. I thought we would have definitely had an advantage over the Blue Bridal Party because we had one extra person on our team, but that certainly was not the case. The Green Team had to go into the fitting room. Boohoo hooooo!!!! As soon as I stepped into the room and saw Francesca and Cynthia, my heart started pounding and realized someone was going home, and it could be me. It was bittersweet for me because I lost the most amount of weight out of my team — 6 lbs. (woooo hooooo) — but on the other hand we had to send a very strong teammate home, Kelley =( I had hoped the waterworks wouldn’t start when Kelley got eliminated but sure enough they did. I am normally not a crybaby but this experience is very emotional. I wish I had stock in Kleenex tissues.

Check out what the Blue Team had to say about Episode 2.

The redhead is definitely the reason for the green team going up for elimination. She should have been the one going home! The other girls work hard, especially Lauren. She’s got alot of heart!
