For the second time in his musical career, Ray J is set to release a sort of musical accompaniment to his reality show (his first was last year’s For the Love of Ray J soundtrack). A joint album with his sister inspired by Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business is on the slate for a release in the fourth quarter of this year, perhaps around the time the second season of their show will air. (Note that the premiere date of Sept. 19 listed in this announcement of the album is erroneous — no premiere date has been announced as of now.) Interestingly, the album is set for a release on Saguaro Road (a Time-Life property), not Universal, despite the fact that Ray’s signing an artist deal with Universal provided the plot arc of a Family Business first-season episode.
Expect for the show/album tie-in to play out on screen: Brandy says their recording sessions will be incorporated into the next season because “fans want to see us back in the studio.” [Billboard/Yahoo!]
