Matt Barnes, the finance (or whatever!) of Basketball Wives star Gloria Govan, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Sacramento, Cali., on suspicion of domestic violence. Gloria’s name was not mentioned, although authorities described the other party as “a woman who lived with him and with whom he had a dating relationship” (Gloria confirmed her plan to move to California with Matt last month). Apparently, both Matt and she-who-was-not-named had visible injuries, but police determined Matt was the primary aggressor. He was released on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. Matt told Sacramento’s News 10 via text message, “U know any domestic violence situation 9 outa 10 times the man gets arrested. That’s the case here I was the victim but still got arrested. No matter what I say people are gonna think what they want…” The fact that both parties reportedly were injured but Matt is claiming to be the victim indeed gives us much to think about. [ESPN]

I’m not saying its okay that he hit her, but seems like that’s what she gets, acting like her relationship was so perfect and coming down so hard on Royce during Basketball Wives, telling her she will never be a ‘wifey’. Well, Gloria, looks like you won’t be one either, and if you are, we all know whats going on behind closed doors..you’ll be taking blows to the head. Get out while you can!!!
Still questioning why this show is called Basketball Wives???????? Every one on the show is either an EX-girlfriend still wanting to be THE girfriend or and EX-wife. Only one married chick on the show and her husband is up in every jumpoff he comes across. They all look and sound ridiculous. Evelyn, get your fake teeth fixed, Royce…….grow up, Shaunie, get over Shaq….he’s moved on, and to the rest of you get lives…..you’re all OLD wanna be’s trying desperately to hold on to your youth.

This is the worst excuse for a show I have seen in a long time. Who gives a crap about these shallow women & the men they choose to be with (or try to be with). Let’s face it, if it weren’t for their husbands, or ex-husbands, or almost husbands noone would even know who they were. I love reality tv, but this is not entertaining in the least. These women need to pull it together & start earning some respect. Becoming a “wifey” of an NBA star does not earn you any respect. Become educated, do something good for those in need, make your own way…that earns respect! I’m sure there are plenty of other “basketball wives” (that have respect for themselves & those around them) that could replace the ones currently on the show & make it worth watching. Until that happens, I’m not interested!

I believe him and he’s right. Most time the men will be the one arrested because for some stupid reason ppl think women cannot be the aggressor in these situations. Women know this and the will play on it like they are the victims. I’ve seen it done before and would not have any part in it.
