Reality TV isn’t the nail in the coffin of an entertainment career that it was once considered. Take Bret Michaels, who’s arguably bigger than ever after a stint judging Nashville Star, a string of Rock of Love seasons, a victory on the most recent Celebrity Apprentice and who’s about to add yet another reality show to his resume with Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It (premiering Monday, October 18 at 10/9c). He’s so invested in the medium that he recently sang its praises to Billboard (in a, ahem, soul-baring cover story). Says Bret:
“TV has absolutely made my sales go up, made my tour guarantees go up. TV has been a great addition to my career. But the key thing is knowing what to walk away from. I advise anyone–especially musicians–to be very careful not to just grab anything they throw your way.”
