Bret Michaels Talks About The Rock Of Love Boat That Wasn’t

|

In the Q&A with Billboard above, Bret Michaels reveals a show idea that never set sail: Rock of Love Boat. The show, he explains, was not to be another televised scheme to find him love (or, y’know, something like it), but instead, it would position him as “the love guru” with the idea being “a rock star gives advice, horrible advice on dating, marriage and how to make a relationship work.” It’s sad to know that we could have watched a row of Rock of Love girls throwing up over the side of a cruise ship, but didn’t.

In other advisement-that-wasn’t-meant-to-be news, Bret has revealed to MTV that he was “disappointed” not to get the American Idol judging job that he was up for. “I’d love to have done it. I’m competitive, so it would have been great. On the other hand, to have J.Lo and Steven Tyler — one’s a pop icon and one’s a rock legend and both, along with Randy, are going to make such awesome TV,” he says. [Billboard/MTV]

Remember, Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It premieres Monday, October 18 at 10/9c.
