How To Deal With Your Significant Other’s Dating Show

The standout scene from the premiere of Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It, involved Bret’s on-again-off-again girlfriend Kristi exorcising demons brought on from his highly frisky stint on Rock of Love. It also helps bridge the shows’ gap, not just from Rock of Love to Life as I Know It, but from the Rock of Love Girls: Where Are They Now? special that aired before this. We’ll have more on this in our upcoming recap of the episode, but it would seem that the question posted in the title of the Where Are They Now? show is answered once and for all: on Kristi’s s*** list, even years later.

Hey Bret, I am a 58 year old woman but I love your music, and I am a big fan! I have watched all of your shows on tv, and feeling more like your mom than a fan sometimes I wanted to kick your butt for being so sleezy especially having two girls and Kristi who stood by your side through thick and thin! I just love her! I will be at your show with my daughter Oct. 24th and I am so excited! I hope you are taking good care of yourself! I know women get crazy around you but I wish they would respect Kristi and understand all she has been through! She knows you as the man not the Star and she loves you for who you are! Your a great dad and I do pray that you and Kristi are together always and women show her the respect she deserves! I saw where someone wrote that you seemed so fake when you are showing her affection! I see nothing fake in your love for her, I see an everyday family having a wonderful life away from the lights, camera and entertainer! Stay well, take it slow and make your health your first priority as not only Kristi but your two beatiful daughters lives would be shattered without you! See You at the show! xoxoxoxox

I’m not one to make assumptions. I am not aware of all the details, but in general, I can say this. From what I understand, Kristi is now your girlfriend that you have made public. To a woman, that means you should be exclusive. I would hope Rock of Love would no longer star you, Bret, out of respect for your relationship and love for Kristi. I have seen a couple episodes, and the premise behind the show was for you to find your “soulmate”/love. If Kristi is truly the one, all I ask is you be the real man and stay faithful. Being a celebrity is hard, lonely, and busy. Kristi expects you to be mobbed by thousands of women. She allows you to hug, kiss on the cheek, or even sign boobs, but once trust is broken, it is never fully regained. And you know the saying, “If you keep going to the barber shop, eventually you’re gonna get a haircut.” You want her to trust you – don’t give her a reason not to.
Good luck to both of you!!
