Do Something Good, Win 100K

Calling all young people under 25 who are tackling a problem in the world. It’s your time to shine. The Do Something Awards is accepting applications for 2011. The big winner will not only get 100k for their cause, but also participate in the live broadcast of the show on VH1.

Last year, the event was hosted by Glee‘s Jane Lynch and featured appearances by Megan Fox, the Jonas Brothers and others. Of course, the real star of the night was last year’s grand prize winner, Jessica Posner (pictured above), who founded a school for girls and community center in Africa’s largest slum. In addition to the grand prize, five nominees will be rewarded with a $10,000 community grant.

Applications close March 1. Apply or nominate someone today at

this amount in my country would do many things, I would open a kindergarten for children, equipped with all equipment requiring super promoting young talent here in my country does not really matter.

Using this money, I would create a center where teens in my community can come together, creating projects to benefit other countries, and using the center to tutor other students. This center would also be used to raise funds with different programs, such as talent night, etc. which most of the proceeds will benefit other students around the world. It would also be a great place, to teach for students who can’t speak English to learn or those interested in other languages to take classes here by students.

Under 25 and cute is a requirement for doing something good for a cause? No wonder VH1 has crappy reality shows on it instead of quality programing.
