Fans of Tough Love, listen up! We know the Facebook redesign has probably got you down, so we’re really happy to announce that you have at least one great thing to look forward to when you log on to the site, in spite of it’s new layout. VH1 has launched a new dating application called Ditch or Date, where users can submit their own dating stories from the Tough Love Facebook page for the chance to win prizes and a consultation with the Master Matchmaker himself, Steve Ward.
For more information about the app and VH1’s upcoming dating website VH1 Flirts (which launches on October 2, the same night as the Tough Love premiere), read on.
NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2011 — Today, VH1 announced it is launching a new Facebook application, Ditch or Date and new dating website, VH1 Flirts, to support the series “VH1 Tough Love Miami.” Ditch or Date will ask fans to submit their best and worst dating stories for a chance to win weekly prizes and dating advice from the show’s host and Master Matchmaker, Steve Ward. One grand prize winner gets a walk on role in the next season of “VH1 Tough Love” and a personal consultation with Steve Ward. The VH1 Flirts site is powered by dating service FunSexyCool and will allow fans to flirt and meet people by going to Flirts.VH1.com on their mobile phones or online. The new season of “VH1 Tough Love Miami” premieres Sunday, October 2 at 8 PM ET/PT on VH1.
Once a fan submits their dating story, others can vote on whether or not that person should “Ditch” or “Date” their suitor. Steve Ward will hand pick his favorite and most creative submissions and entrants will win prizes – aka Happy Endings – such as dating advice from Steve Ward, jewelry, clothes, toys, eReaders, beauty products and much more. Prizes will be awarded weekly, making people winners for dating losers.
“I want to unite the community of daters worldwide and encourage them to share their stories. Relish in each other’s wonderful and even horrible experiences so you may learn from them. There are valuable lessons and insights we can all gain from the experiences of others. That’s the premise of ‘VH1 Tough Love.’ It isn’t easy, but sharing and communicating to better our understanding is the only way we can ever move on, the only way we can ever grow,” said Steve Ward, Master Matchmaker and host of “VH1 Tough Love Miami.” “I rarely tell women what they want to hear, but I always tell them what they need to hear in order to find love.”
In order to give”VH1 Tough Love Miami”fans an opportunity to find love, VH1 has partnered with FunSexyCool to launch an online dating service called VH1 Flirts in conjunction with the season premiere. The site will provide fans with a free, fun and fast way to flirt and date people using their mobile phone or computer by visiting Flirts.VH1.com. Members are able to browse profiles, rate pictures, message members, find matches, make friends and more. “Today now more than ever people are using technology including mobile phones, the web, laptops, and tablets to meet people. I’m thrilled to work with VH1 and FunSexyCool to deliver to our fans an exciting and fun new platform to find love,” said Steve Ward.
Handsome, cocky and smart, Steve Ward is America’s maestro of love. His brutally honest approach to matchmaking has made him one of the most successful matchmakers in the country. Now in its third season, “VH1 Tough Love” is heading to Miami, the ultimate city for relationship-challenged women to make a splash in the dating pool. While in Miami, Steve will work with a group of eight single, attractive women to help them shed their bad dating habits and find out what it takes to finally land “the one.” Over the course of ten weeks, the women will go on dates with eligible bachelors and endure intense group sessions to get to the bottom of why they are still single. Steve promises that if the women follow his rules, by the end boot camp, they will be ready for love. “VH1 Tough Love Miami” premieres Sunday, October 2 at 8 PM ET/PT on VH1.
