Which Of The 2012 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees Is Most Deserving Of Induction?

The nominees for the 2012 Class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame were announced earlier today. The group is, as it has been for the last few years, an eclectic bunch made up of artists from a wide variety of musical genres: New nominees this year include The Cure, Eric B. & Rakim, Guns N’ Roses, Heart, Freddie King, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rufus and Chaka Khan, the Small Faces, the Spinners, and War, while holdovers that failed to get inducted last year are Beastie Boys, Donna Summer, Donovan, and Laura Nyro.

The RRHOF’s induction process is mysterious and secretive, so you don’t see the same kind of public campaigning by nominees for induction that you see in, say, the sports world. However, that doesn’t mean that the committee who makes the decisions of who gets honored and who gets snubbed isn’t reading this blog post. So, with that in mind, vote for the act that you feel is most deserving of the honor in our poll below, and maybe, just maybe, Jann Wenner and his band of choosy cronies will pay heed!

RUSH, RUSH, RUSH!!! Toss in Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and it would be an overdue, MOST deserving class.

What about groups that are still out there busting their A** year after year like Styx, REO Speedwagon, Journey amongst others. Where is the Rock and Roll in some of these nominees? Chaka Khan? Donna Summer? Erik B and Rakim? Just sad…..if you keep with some of these groups/artists, STOP calling it a ROCK and ROLL hall of fame!

How about Cheap Trick?? RUSH?? To have Donna Summer on this list is an insult to the real hard working rock bands out there with a looong career behind them. Like Blue Oyster Cult! They and bands that are on tour forever, deserves to be inducted, not disco mimers!

Would love to see Rush and Yes get a nod, but the editors of Rolling Stone who essentially control the HOF have a notorious hatred for prog. The Hall is a joke; at this point it is a badge of honor that these two bands are NOT in it!

Let me think. HEART has been around since the 70′s, and is still together kicking major butt on tour. GNR started in the 80′s and is still broken up. Haven’t toured since when???? Choice is obvious.

With so many crap ones already in it´s much better Donna stays out as she is in another level, she´s a truly artist unlikely the rubbish they (Hall of Fame) are adding in. This is pure money thing, talent does not count. Love u Donna, R.I.P!
