The 100 Greatest Songs of ‘00s [COMPLETE LIST]

by (@unclegrambo)

VH1′s latest entry in The Greatest series is one that’s sure to stir up plenty of debate. Starting next Monday night at 10 p.m. ET/PT and running through Friday, we’ll be counting down The 100 Greatest Songs of the ’00s. Each night, host Pete Wentz (whose own “Sugar, We’re Going Down” comes in at #40 on the list!) and a murderer’s row of your favorite comedians and musicians will provide their expert analysis (and a few jokes along the way) about a block of 20 songs that made the aughts such a memorable decade, musically speaking.

We can’t wait for you to see the show, but as a bit of a teaser, we wanted to share with you the entire list of songs, from #100 all the way down to #1, with you today (if you’re on Spotify, you can listen to VH1′s Greatest Songs Of The ’00s there). That way, you can begin debating and discussing the rankings among your friends (and in the comments!) right away, and you’ll be able to tune-in in next week every night at 10 p.m. to dig the rationale. 1. Ozgur says:

The list is AWESOME, except these two; = Toxic should have been in top 3 and Bad Romance should have been higher, It’s better than Poker Face.

  2. musicfan says:

Since U Been Gone should be #1. :)

  3. gonzalo says:

and what about “i write sins not tragedies” by Panic! at the disco :(

  4. musicfan says:

Because of You by KC deserves to be on the list too.

  5. Pat says:

There are so few Rock songs on here i want to vomit.

  6. Steve says:

Where’s Oops and I think JLo has much better songs than I’m real :S

  7. Carlos says:

Bah… LEFT OUTSIDE ALONE by ANASTACIA!!!!

  8. Ann says:

Dónde está Hung Up de Madonna??? Ese fue el tema más exitoso del 2005 a nivel mundial!!!

  9. jason says:

    esta lista es una MIERDA!

  10. Jason says:

Britney is not God, dear James, deal with that.

  11. galaga51 says:

I agree Pat. Most top music lists seem biased towards hip hop and pop. With 4 stellar albums in that decade alone, it’s amazing Muse isn’t on here at all.

  12. Alison says:

this list makes me sad for the generations after us who will have things like these to document what the “greatest” music of the 00′s was. thanks for including some worthy musicians (adele, rhcp), but serious VH1? this reads like an extended track listing of “Now That’s What I Call Entertainment-Noise”, not music.

  13. Seriously? says:

lol a greatest list Ke$ha and Nickelback. Never thought I’d see the day.

  14. Mike Bishop says:

This can’t be real. This has to be a joke or something.

  15. a7xgrl says:

No My Chemical Romance, Good Charlotte, Simple Paln, or Avenged Sevenfold. Have you guys forgot the music that actually made the ’00s.

  16. Dirk says:

Wow, If that is the best of the decade what a crap decade for music.

  17. Weezy4life says:

Lil Wayne should have been on that list at least twice….Fireman, Lollilop, A Millie??? Come on

  18. Pablo Mora says:

Were the F is 30 seconds to marrs on that list or were is system of a down chop suey one of the first videos that got allot of views on youtube!!!!! common the thong song!!!!!! just and insult

  19. Drex says:

ja rule- put it on me, always on time, between me and you? akon-locked up? lil wayne- lollipop? destiny’s child- say my name? nelly dilemna, my place, air force ones? lil flip- sunshine, game over? fabolous- breathe, so into you, can’t let you go? kanye- all falls down, stronger, jesus walks? just a few songs to throw out there. many more that could be named.

  20. adfsdf says:

Vanessa Carlton–A Thousand Miles? Definitely one of the most iconic songs of the 00′s.

  21. sam says:

No Flaming Lips ‘Do You Realize?’ Your little list is a complete failure.

  22. Jonny Loathing says:

    What? No Dethklok?

  23. franny says:

the list is understandable but i highly believe muse, pearl jam, mgmt, vampire weekend or arctic monkeys shouldve been listed. any great indie/alternative song from the latter half of the decade couldve made it better. am i right? if u disagree i take it that u unfortunately havent heard any of their songs.

  24. Chance says:

well im highly disappointed there isn’t a single Breaking Benjamin song on here. Several qualify, such as: Diary of Jane, I Will Not Bow, Dear Agony, Firefly, Rain, Breath, and many more… come vh1…. =(

  25. nays choice says:

how does over my head by the fray, apologize by onerublic not make the TOP 100, wow

  26. Carolina says:

This is more like The 100 MORE COMMERCIAL Songs of ‘00s

  27. Gudmew Zick says:

Words cannot describe how horrible this list is

  28. Kendell says:

This list is terrible. Yeah, some of the songs on here were really big and deserve to be on the countdown because they shaped some of the future music. But most of this list is only pop and mainstream music. Personally I think that there should be more rock/alternative/indie bands on here too. There’s more music besides what plays on the radio. What about 30 Seconds to Mars? Or Muse?

  29. Trolly says:

How do they even make this list? is it based on how mainstream it was? Or maybe someone’s favorite list? It feels a bit bias to me.

  30. Jon says:

There are two songs that I was sure would make the list:
    “1985″ by Bowling For Soup
    “Bad Day” by Daniel Powter
I don’t really care for either song (especially “Bad Day”), but they were impossible to escape from when they came out. Hell, The Chimpmunks covered Powter.

  31. JORGE says:

    i write sins not tragedieS
    CHOP SUEY

  32. GreatestEver? says:

This must be the greatest pop songs ever. No Incubus? As far as I’m concerned the entire Morning View album could have been on here. Most of this list are the songs that I hated when I first heard them (especially #1 Crazy in Love) but found myself singing along to because the radio crammed it down my throat on 4 minute rotations! Somehow that makes them the best songs of the 00s.

  33. Destiny says:

Where the hell is My Chemical Romance? I would assume I’m Not Okay or Helena would atleast be on there.. -___-

  34. Madeleen says:

This list makes me sick. I can admit that there are some good choices of songs on here but you didn’t take into consideration of all the diffrent music genres. Here are a songs I think you should of added. Marilyn Manson- Beautiful People, Disturbed- Down with the Sickness, Korn- Freak on A Leash, Eminem-Stan-The Real Slim Shady, Papa Roach- Last Resort, TLC-No Scrubs, I could go on but I’ll stop. Take our feedback into thought VH1.

  35. Drew says:

    Where’s Mumford and Sons??!

  36. musicfan says:

this list is based off how long a song was number 1 on the billboard top 100… it doesnt matter how good it was… i mean i wish it was but nope it was all popularity

  37. brooke says:

Where the hell are all the rock songs?!?!?

  38. YARED says:

THIS LIST SUCKS! WHERE ARE THE SMASH HITS HUNG UP (MADONNA), CAN’T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD (KYLIE MINOGUE), HOT N’ COLD (KATY PERRY) WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER (DAVID GUETTA & KELLY ROWLAND) SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW (KEANE) AND SO MANY MORE GREATEST 00´S HITS THAT SHOULD BE ON THE LIST INSTEAD MILEY CIRUS, OK GO, AND OTHERS

  39. erm says:

This was a really bad decade for music.

  40. Carlos Spicy Weiner says:

the list for 11′s.. number 1 is party rock athem!!

  41. chelsey says:

how could lil wayne not be in the greatest of the 00′s? did someone forget about a little song called lollipop? ridiculous

  42. Sherry says:

I like see tv and vh1 100 Greatest Songs of 00′s.

  43. Doogie says:

actually, this list isn’t that bad. i expected plenty of cheesy pop garbage and one-hit wonder songs that people would never listen to now, like VH1 did with the awful “best songs of the 90s” list, but they put some legitimately good songs that people will actually still listen to in 10 years on here. and for the people complaining that there wasn’t enough rock on here, they need to realize that a lot of rock didn’t reach the pop charts in the 2000s. and all of these lists have to be based on what was big on pop radio, or else people would complain that they hadn’t heard of any of the songs.

  44. Muffaluffagus says:

    Hoobastank- The Reason

  45. Marty says:

what happened to the blackeyed peas!!?? Ive got a feeling andmeet me halfway?!!

  46. curtis says:

where is all of the rock songs? this is a garbage list.

  47. David says:

    and Kylie Minogue ?? ??

  48. Doog says:

judging by the fact that the 2000s had a lot of terrible, unmemorable pop music, i think they did pretty well with the list. the top 20 is actually pretty good, much better than VH1′s best of the 90s list’s top 20, which had crap like Backstreet Boys, Sir Mix-a-Lot, MC Hammer, and Hanson. and there were plenty of good 90s rock and pop songs left off of that entire list. so, compared to the 90s list, this list is a pleasant surprise. i know some people are upset by the list, but come on people, they’re not going to include songs that weren’t singles or pop hits, artists that weren’t big enough, rock songs that weren’t on pop radio, or heavy rock or metal songs from bands like Korn. this is VH1, people!

  49. trish says:

I’m surprised The Strokes didn’t make the list, considering their first album, “Is This It” was one of the most influential rock albums of the 2000′s. One of their songs should’ve made the list. Incubus – Wish You Were Here should have made it too.

  50. JEFFDAVIS says:

UMMMM! some of the people that have posted these comments needs to look up some year!!! AKA… Adele, yes did begin in 2009, but was not popular until the album “21″, which came out in 2011!!! TLC- “No Scrubs” was released in November of 1999, although popular in the 00′s, the song must be released in 00′s!!! So we do need to look up your information before posting. As well i agree that this list is not the best, but eveyone is subject to there own views, if you look deeper into the list though the are majority pop albums, while means that the list is a direct offspring to the Billboard top 100s!!!

  51. Filipe says:

Interesting. I agree with some choices, I strongly disagree with others. I decided to redo the list (at list a top 25) using only the songs elected and putting it in my order, with some explanations. I changed the song by some artists when I thought it would be a better choice. And, sorry, but last I thought of manifesting my objections to the list. But also suggesting some notable omissions.

    1. Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z, “Crazy in Love”
[I'm not 100% sure I'd put this in #1, but I'd certainly would put it close. A great song indeed.]

    2. Kelis, “Milkshake”
[This just might be the best song produced by The Neptunes, that were super influential in the '00s. And Kelis is one of the greatest r&b artists of the last decade, although she's totally underrated commercial wise. There's something about the mood and irony of this song that's really catchy too.]

    3. Aaliyah, “Try Again”
[The best Timbaland production, also a key producer in the 00's, a great composition, and Aaliyah had a great voice]

    4. OutKast, “Hey Ya!”
[I agree this is the best Outkast song, but BOB, Ms Jackson and Roses deserved consideration too.]

    5. Madonna, “Music”
[Music has a superb dance/electro production, that uses all sorts of filters and effects, and hints with the 70's funk universe - groovy bass line (actually a synthesizer line, but the idea is kept), the guitar riff, the lyrics -. Interestingly, between the density of its production, the song is melodically very simple and direct. It sounds modern today. A masterpiece of electronic music.]

    6. Gnarls Barkley, “Crazy”

    7. Missy Elliott, “Get Ur Freak On”
[Although she would release other remarkable singles after this one, the rhythm, the Indian music sample and Missy's crazy delivery make this one of the best rap records ever.]

    8. Amy Winehouse, “Rehab”
[Could've been You Know I'm No Good just as well.]

    9. M.I.A., “Paper Planes”
[Could've been many songs from Kala or Arular that are just as great as this one. MIA was one of the most influential, creative and original artists of the decade.]

    10. Lady Gaga, “Bad Romance”

    11. D’Angelo, “(Untitled) How Does It Feel”
[D'Angelo's 2000 Voodoo album was his last released, but it's a great neo-soul album and certainly should be remembered. And this is a very sensitive ballad.]

    12. Alicia Keys, “Fallin’”
[In her first single, she sounded like she could make the legendary spirit of 60's and 70's soul and r&b come back. She didn't fulfill such a promise, although she did some great stuff after this (You don't know my name, No one, Try sleeping with a broken heart). Duffy and Amy Winehouse would also evoke the greatness of r&b's prime years. And Amy would prove successful in that attempt.]

    13. Norah Jones, “Don’t Know Why”
    14. The White Stripes, “Seven Nation Army”

    15. Lady Gaga, “Poker Face”
[Poker Face is great, but Bad Romance is a more accomplished composition and should be higher on the list.]

    16. Beyoncé, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”
    17. Mariah Carey, “We Belong Together”

    18. Christina Aguilera “Ain’t no other man”
instead of Christina, Lil’ Kim, Mya, Pink, “Lady Marmalade”
[Lady Marmalade belongs to Labelle - wich, sadly, most people don't even know what is -,
and Christina is the only credible singer in this group. Ain't no other man, her retro-brassy pop jam - with powerful vocals - would be a better choice.]

    19. Britney Spears, “Toxic”
[The also Bloodish & Avant produced Piece of Me would fit in just as well. Both are great dance songs. And if it's Piece of Me (which is a clever song than Toxic), it could've been higher.]

    20. 50 Cent, “In Da Club”

    21. Chistina Aguilera “Fighter”
    instead of Christina Aguilera, “Beautiful”
[Beautiful, come on!!, is sooooo tacky/silly/cliche/dumb. Fighter is anthemic as well, only it's good.]

    21. Snoop Dogg featuring Pharrell, “Drop It Like It’s Hot”
    22. Gwen Stefani, “Hollaback Girl”

    23. Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes, “Don’t Cha”
[This group may LOOK on video like a bad taste joke (and I'm talking about musical credibility, if you say it's good because the chicks are hot, you're talking about something else). But Nicole is really a good and capable singer, and this song, written by Cee Loo, is really infectious.]

    24. Kings of Leon, “Sex On Fire”
    25. Macy Gray, “I Try”

    Some observations:

    Justin Timberlake featuring Timbaland, “SexyBack”
[I agree that Future sex love sounds was a great record, I just don't think there were any songs in it as good as what the album could achieve as a whole. Perhaps My Love or What goes around comes around would be a better choice. They're certainly better than Sexyback, which is ok, but kind of plain.]

    Destiny’s Child, “Bootylicious”
[Say my name, Bills Bills Bills (ok this two are from the 90's), Independent Women, Cater 2 U were the great Destiny's Child songs. NOT this one. Ah! and Survivor is a terrible song. So hysterical and irritating, don't even think of this one.]

    Red Hot Chili Peppers, “Californication”
[This was actually released in 1999, as part of its album, although it was released as a single in 2000. The thing is, if this album (Californication) comes to compete, Scar Tissue would be the choice. But since we're talking the 2000's and to avoid confusion, perhaps Dani California should replace it.]

    My objections!! Big NO’s.

T.I. featuring Rihanna, “Live Your Life”
[Have you heard the original song which this one "derived" from? If you listen and give it a little thought, it will become shameful to like such an idiotic song like this one.]

Plain White T’s, “Hey There Delilah”
This song is silly and plain stupid.

Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, Ke$ha and Jennifer Lopez are a total joke, completely mediocre and should never made a list of best anything.

    And, finally, notable omissions:
    Daft Punk (One more time)
    Justice (D.A.N.C.E.)
    Prince (Te amo, corazón)
Erykah Badu (Love of my life, Bag Lady)
Bob Dylan (two his 2000s albums, Love and Theft and Modern Times, are just as good as his best albums ever.)
    Paul McCartney (Everlasting Past)
Queens of the stone age (No one knows)
    Yeah yeah yeah’s (Maps)
Kylie Minogue (Can’t get you outta my head)
Amerie (1 thing – also written and produced by Rich Harrison who also did the number 1 election, Crazy in Love-.)
    Radiohead
    Gorillaz
    Arcade fire

  52. Jimmy says:

Most people got the obvious omissions, but how about Lifehouse “Hanging by a Moment” and POD “Youth of the Nation”?

  53. rockphan says:

I cannot believe Nickelback – Photograph did not make this list.

  54. emchick says:

lose yourself by eminem should be the number one song here. the lyrics are phenomenal

  55. laura says:

    playlist for treadmill

  56. Frank Nea; says:

where in the hell is lifehouse, nickelback, and vertical horizon?

  57. lol says:

    this list fails

  58. STEFAN says:

ASHANTI FOOLISH 10 WEEKS AT NUMBER ONE……BT CUDNT EVEN MAKE THIS LIST WOW

  59. rolla says:

um xscuse me!!?? where’s welcome to jamrock????

  60. Ajay says:

No ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’? Seriously??
This is one of the biggest misses. And coming from VH1 as well…sad.

  61. Oren says:

Can’t believe that Eminem only gets one song on this list. A few good ones off Marshall Mathers alone, mainly ‘Stan’. ‘Without Me’ from Eminem Show should be here too.

  62. SSJOHNSON says:

    Ciara-Goodies, Like a Boy
Beyonce- If I were a Boy

  63. Tommy says:

    Bowling for Soup?

  64. I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A 1000 BEST SONGS OF 90′S AND 00′S

  65. Bajesus says:

Sorry to say, but this list is an ultimate failure on VH1′s end.

In order to generate a top list, you need a diversity of people with a variety of interests to give opinions, particularly those from within the music industry, not just taking the songs with the top sales / downloads from 7th graders. The latter results in Beyonce getting #1 and Hey Ya coming in at #2. Those songs were probably okay for five listen-to’s and are now terrible, not to mention the rest of the list is flagrant. There are many much better songs that didn’t make this list and that is just unfortunate.

  66. Malik says:

Missing 2 eminem songs:Stan and When I’m Gone. But Lose Yourself is where it should be.

  67. martino says:

vh1 must really don’t like usher how does he only have 1 song on here and billboard named him hot 100 artist of the decade and his album confessions album of the decade??

  68. sadik says:

britney spears sngle womanizer is the best one

  69. Jokester says:

Although there are a few songs on this list that i agree with…most of these songs are aweful and dont deserve anyplace on this list at all! I like how amy winehouse rehab song made top 50′ bet you if she were still alive it definitely wouldnt have made the list at all. this list sucks soo badd. VH1…you messed up.

  70. J says:

How can any list about songs from the 2000s almost completely skip over the boyband and pop princess era? Too many tracks from the mid to late end of the decade and not enough from the beginning. One of the few defining styles of the decade was the end of the pop-era. Just like Hair-metal is one of the definitive sounds of the 80s; boybands and pop princesses are one of the definitive pieces of the 2000s – and signified the end of not only a sound but the end of an era (remember record CD sales, TRL etc etc, before downloading and TV-shows took over the industry). I wasn’t even a big fan of BSB, but how is that not one of their songs made the list? And too many artists that are on the list only have one song that made the list, and for many it is not their best or most popular tracks either. Artists like Eminem, Destiny’s Child, Britney Spears, Green Day, and P!NK had several hits in the 2000s! This is one of the worst lists VH1 has ever made……

  71. J says:

And Miley Cyrus, really? Are you sure? Certainly there were not only better quality songs released in the decade but also songs that were bigger hits that could’ve been added instead of anything by Miley. I can’t get over how pitiful this list is. Both ‘Nsync, Britney Spears, and BSB broke record sales history but only one mention of ‘Nsync and Britney and no mention at all of BSB. And no mention of Santana or Limb Bizkit, both of which had big releases in the decade.

  72. Alissia James says:

    Your info is super WRONG!!!!!!!

  73. EMINEM #1 says:

EMINEM SHOULD had got number one…expecially stan and his other 99 best songs!

  74. Lindsey says:

Jesse McCartney- ” Beautiful Soul ” should be on the list

  75. Everest says:

    Whare is califoria hurls?

  76. Kateosee says:

Major misses. Eminem was the number 1 artist of the decade, hands down. Love him or hate him, the indisputable FACT is that he was the best-selling artist of the decade. The fact that he only got one song on here is enough to negate the validity of the list.

  77. Payton Ardoin says:

Everyone knows Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers wasn’t even released in the 00′s, right…it was 1999. It’s a great song, just not for this list. I submit “Can’t Stop” in its place

  78. D says:

Really surprised Feel Good Inc. did not make the list!

  79. Speed says:

Cater 2 u by destiny’s child is a lot better than bootylicious in my opinion

  80. Adrian Cadena says:

This is awful !!! bring me to the 70′s :(

  81. Jake says:

WTF… The top ten list is just wack beyonce and jayz number one? r u serious Lose yourself still gets played TODAY. Where is stronger for kanye west or some rap… foreal 1 5o cent song in this whole list???? BAHA. horrible just horrible

  82. Mel says:

A Thousand Miles- Vanessa Carlton (shocked that this didn’t even make it)
Wake Me Up When September Ends- Green Day<– THIS should have definitely made it

  83. Musicalian says:

A lot of songs are missing and a lot of songs are placed too low. The top is almost abysmal. I still don’t know if this is about the most quality beautiful songs, or the biggest hits of that 2000-2009 decade? We’re more interested in remembering of the enormous hits and their influence on music. Some of those songs were not that ‘quality based’, but they were huge hits and they deserve to make such a list. So, this is not logical.

  84. Stephen says:

It’s amazing how much crappier this list is compared to the 90′s list. There may only be a dozen songs on here that are decent at all. Further proof that pop/rock is virtually dead.

  85. Disappointed says:

Horrible list. Who decides this list anyways?

  86. lolwut says:

way way way WAY to much so-so R&B and Hip-Hop tracks on this list to remotely take seriously. Nice list of fail VH1.

  87. Christian says:

FAIL! Where is the rock?? This is all mainstream pop and hip-hop. More diversity, like your other lists. I vote for a re-do!

  88. Michael Herrera says:

    ¿KESHA? ITS A JOKE, RIGHT
TWO SONGS OF JAY-Z, ALICIA KEYS, BRITNEY SPEARS, BEYONCE, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE; ONLY ONE SONG OF EVERY ONE.
SO, THERE ARTISTS AND GROUPS WHO RETRIBUING THIS DECADE OF THIS MILENNIUM AND ARE NOT MENCIONED WITH YOUR RESPECTIVES SONGS:
LIMP BIZKIT (ROLLIN), ROBBIE WILLIAMS (ROCK DJ or BETTER MAN), 30 SECONDS TO MARS (THE KILL), THE STROKES (LAST NITE), FRANZ FERDINAND (TAKE ME OUT), THE HIVES (HATETO SAY I TOLD YOU SO), THE VINES (GET FREE), DAFT PUNK (ONE MORE TIME), SEAN PAUL (GET BUSY), XZIBIT (X), MARIO WINANS (I DON’T WANNA KNOW), STAIND (IT’S BEEN AWHILE), MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE (THE BLACK PARADE), DANTE THOMAS (MISS CALIFORNIA), PUDDLE OF MUDD (BLURRY)
    NOTES:
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS: IS BETTER DANI CALIFORNIA THAN CALIFORNICATION FOR THIS DECADE
BLINK 182: IS BETTER STAY TOGETHER FOR THE KIDS or THE ROCK SHOW, THAN ALL THE SMALL THINGS
MISSY ELLIOT: IS BETTER WORK IT
KINGS OF LEON: IS BETTER USE SOMEBODY
NELLY FURTADO: IS BETTER TURN OFF THE LIGHT

  89. Downiefan20 says:

This list is brutal, it’s not a list of the greatest songs of the 00′s. It is a list of the most popular songs. If it was a list of the greatest songs I would have to include:

    City and Colour: Sleeping Sickness
    Our Lady Peace: Thief

  90. Richard Pimentel says:

    List is awful were is
    Pardon me- Incubus
Bottom of a bottle- Smile Empty Soul
    Nas- Ether
    Nas- one Mic
    Gorillaz- Feel Good Inc

  91. Ray says:

I understand that not a whole lot of people that listen to these songs would listen to Disturbed but 4 out their 5 albums debuted at #1 on the charts. How is there not one of there songs on this list?

  92. Rachel says:

HAS ANYONE EVEN HEARD OF USE SOMEBODY BY KINGS OF LEON?!!?!?!

  93. Brandon says:

Any list with Nickelback in it is immediately invalid.

  94. Tribecq7 says:

Only 1 Linkin Park song? And you have it at 84? Come on now… really? And the obvious absence of Eminem’s Stan? Eminem should have also had the #1 song. The guy dominated the 00′s. You have nothing from Nas on there but there’s one from Mystikal??? Words can’t express how ridiculous that is. Gorillaz should have definitely been on this list… Clint Eastwood, Feel Good Inc. And you seriously have Miley Cyrus, Kesha, Plain White T’s, Mystikal and Lil’ Jon on this list? That’s just terrible. Despite how popular their songs may have been they deserve absolutely no recognition whatsoever for anything they do ever. I could go on forever so I’ll just end it with this… I don’t know what minds were behind making this list but they did a very, very, very, very (u get the idea) pooooooor job. This list isn’t credible at all. It’s a shame it was even aired on television.

  95. Ryan says:

I was really upset with this song at first, what with the lack of All Star by Smash Mouth which was rightfully number 1, the three Beyonce and Jay-Z songs in the top 20, and the presence of songs that I as a youth for most of this decade had never heard before this list, but now I’m a little more okay with it, though I still think some songs are unnaturally high and some too low…. oh well

  97. Mihs says:

    Oh no sick puppies

  98. This list is lame and I can’t say I agree with much of it at all. It seems more like a glorification of rap and R&B and such to me. Can’t agree with that, it’s garbage. Best song of the 2000s? “Bring Me To Life” by Evanescence, no contest.

  99. Jared says:

Wait…. where’s “Irreplaceable”???? The song was #1 on Billboard for like 10 weeks.. and 2007′s Song of the Year on Billboard. How is that even not included on this list???? Everything else seems appropriate on the list but it’s just missing this song. Like…. who doesnt know that song???? lol Def one of the biggest songs of that decade. Everyone and their mama has been singing that song since it blew up.
    That is all.

  100. Megan says:

    Yellowcard – OCEAN AVENUE
Nine Days – ABSOLUTELY (STORY OF A GIRL)
    Smash Mouth – ALL STAR
    Good Charlotte – THE ANTHEM
Jimmy Eat World – THE MIDDLE
Sum 41! Bowling for Soup! Simple Plan! The All-American Rejects!

WHERE ARE THEY?!? These songs were the BIGGEST hits of the 00s! blink-182 needs to be in the top ten and these other songs need to be following close behind! THE 00s WERE THE POP-PUNK ERA! Epic fail.

  101. JG Man says:

No MJ? You Rock My World was amazing. Good job with the N Sync and Justin Timberlake on here though

  102. jacko25 says:

I can’t believe they had American Idiot by Green Day but not Boulevard of broken dreams wasn’t. I shouldn’t be surprised since on VH1″s 90′s list they had Achy Breaky heart but not November Rain.

  103. TUCKSTARR says:

what a sad sad list. So many great songs were left off this list

  104. ZoAnn says:

So glad the songs on this list are all ones I’ve heard before! I feel so well-rounded, musically.

Also, the show revealed to me a LOT of the music videos and meanings and words to these songs that I was so unaware of when I was little and they were new. I can’t believe I thought I knew the words… I was so wrong! lol.

  105. Karl Werner says:

top 100? Based upon what exactly? How is it that Usher’s “Yeah” is at #27? As a professional DJ since the beginning of the millenium, Usher’s “Yeah”, by a LONG SHOT, is easily the most requested song for the longest amount of time from this era. I’m not necessarily a fan of Usher’s, but when I watched this show, I nearly BARFED

  106. Cathy says:

HOW HOW HOW is “Learn To Fly” by the Foo Fighters, missing from this list???? It should have been near the top! That’s what is wrong with people these days….

  107. Cathy says:

My bad, “Learn To Fly” did come out in 1999. At least you did have one Foo Fighters song on the list, which is totally deserved. Still, the list, for lack of a better word, sucks. “Beautiful Day” by U2 deserved to be listed much higher. I can’t believe that a song that I, as a lay person, have heard maybe, MAYBE, once… was chosen as No. 1.

  108. bob-stacked says:

I would like to see some more diversity in this list. Like where is Chop Suey by System of Down and a Disturbed song because he is the greatest metal/hard rock artist of the 00s.

  109. tudorjason says:

Most of these songs, especially the top ten, were overplayed 1 billion times over. I change the station the moment half of these songs start.

  110. Aimee says:

It makes me so angry that during “Bootylicous”, NO ONE mentioned that the sample riff was by Stevie Nicks. When that song came up, I was looking forward to hearing about Nicks, but I was bitterly disappointed.

  111. Nancy W says:

Could you put up clips of the dance moves you show on Greatest 100 00′s?
