Last night, Beyoncé‘s video for “Party” featuring J. Cole was released and there’s no use pretending that we’ve done anything else but watch it on repeat ever since. Taking productivity to an all time low and desire to party with Beyoncé vibes to an all time high, we’re swooning, head nodding and finger clicking along with Bey’s delectable, candy-colored, bling-adorned party scene. The retro-ghetto fab outfits, bare skin and constant jumpin’ jumpin’ of background party goers is a last glance back at summer, and a welcome escape from the mundaneness of everyday life.
The throughline of the video couldn’t be any simpler: Beyoncé is in a trailer park, at which point she pretends to cook something in a frying pan, then blows some bubbles, then starts to party. Incorporate bedroom party, backyard party and hotel party, several of J.Cole‘s cars, a pool filled with other party guests and inflatable bits and bobs, a lawnmower and a rather seductive B reapplying makeup in someone’s bathroom, and you’ve got WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF. As if King B in metallic swimsuits, bizarrely colored furs and crazy Versace get-ups wasn’t enough, we’ve been squealing over cameos from sister Solange Knowles as resident party DJ and home girl Kelly Rowland just busting out some casual moves with Bey Bey.
So go, go, Bey Bey! We love that the girl, complete with bub in her gut, has managed to release yet another hit album with consistently bumping, epic anthems. Her sixth video release from 4, “Party” is 2011’s paean for, der, parties. We can’t wait for the next installment of Beyoncé’s pop classic sounds and stimulating visuals — don’t leave us hanging too long for the next one though B! (HINT: “End Of Time”)
