You know when you come home from a great vacation full of sightseeing and adventure and you say “I need a vacation from my vacation!”? The Basketball Wives L.A. Hawaii trip was like that for me. Unfortunately, we’re not getting a vacation this week to recuperate, we’re getting more drama than ever (but fewer sea turtles).
A few major developments occurred over the course of this episode.
1) The return of Kimsha!

Kimsha comes over to Chez Christie after a long summer of being unavailable for filming due to that illness called “these b*tches be crazy.” Kimsha truly seems uninterested in the drama, so when Jackie spends a time-lapsed video (how long do we think she went on for, forty five minutes? Two hours? I’m surprised it wasn’t dark out by the time she was finished.) telling Kimsha all the drama that went down in Hawaii, Kimsha only response is “Wah? Huh? Yeah, I don’t have time for this.” Preach.

Later when Kimsha shows up again for Jackie’s fashion shoot, she maintains her neutrality, advising Jackie “Let go and let God.” Seriously Kimsha, where were you all season when we needed a referee?
2) The Govan Family Dramas
First we have Laura. Laura has already reconciled with her man Gilbert at this point, and the situation is this: she lives in L.A. now, and he’s playing for Orlando. So during an outing to get custom sandals made (as one does), Laura drops the bomb on Gloria, Malaysia and Imani (who recently battled with a peace-sign snake and was victorious, so she’s now wearing her prey around her neck),

that she is “Going to Disney World!” i.e. moving to Orlando forever. And just when they were all starting to get along, too. Everyone seems bummed,

but at least they all have a pair of custom-made shoes coming their way to soften the blow. And hey, they can totally use Laura for her in-state resident Disney discount. (Just kidding, that’s non-transferable.) Gloria and the rest of her family throw Laura a going-away-slash-birthday party to say goodbye, but the only thing I remember about that scene is red velvet cake.

Next there’s Gloria’s relationship with Matt. Weeks ago, Matt dropped a bomb on Gloria telling her that he is now ready to commit to her. At first I was confused because that seemed like good news and I couldn’t understand why she’s upset that the father of her children is ready to get married, but I guess that’s her point — it’s taken him six whole years, two kids, and one broken engagement to get to the point where Gloria has been for a while, and she’s annoyed. She talks it out with Laura (who is clearly trying to steer her toward staying with Matt),

she talks it over with a therapist (who is clearly trying to steer her toward two-toned bangs),

and she talks it over with Matt, who is incredibly even-keeled considering his baby mama is basically breaking up with him.

“Our so-called perfect relationship is over,” Matt says as he helps Gloria pack her things, and they talk about whether or not they have a future together. Look, I know Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were successful at the on-again, off-again thing, but I don’t really know anyone else that could swing it. That said, it sounds like both parties have already moved on and are happy enough (for now!). “I hope down the road we can raise our family together in one house,” Matt says, and they’re getting along so well that it makes you wonder why they’re doing this, whyyyy?? They’re so cute! But I mean, the jokes they’re making ARE about Matt’s cheating, so. I get it.
3) This Jackie Business.
As I’ve discussed, Kimsha was brought back into the fold this week, and I’m gonna say it’s because they needed someone for Jackie to bounce her theories off of because it would look too crazy having Jackie speaking aloud to no one in particular. For like 45 minutes worth of episode, Jackie maintains that she’s ready to forgive the girls and get the gang back together, but the rest of the group ain’t having it. “Kooky don’t have no answer,” Laura says at the beginning of the show (I might need to get a tattoo of that particular phrase), and Malaysia’s worry with Jackie is that “There’s some medicine that’s not being took.”

But Malaysia tells the girls that in spite of Jackie being off her meds, she wants to meet up with all of them.

“Jackie will not die,” Draya says (welcome to the episode, Draya!) “She keeps popping up out of the casket like the Cryptkeeper.” Seriously, someone get Draya a spin off where she just says things like this, I’d tune in for every episode.
“Jackie right now is in the hot seat,” Draya says as the women meet up for their group pow-wow. The women give her one last chance to explain herself, apologize, or prove she’s not crazy. Charts are made, minutes are taken, and I wouldn’t put it past Draya to have an Excel spreadsheet plotted out on her iPad.

As soon as Jackie shows up, she makes them wait ten minutes for her Hennessy to arrive before addressing the matters at hand. “Jackie always needs her drink. It’s her spinach. It gives her her muscles, it’s liquid courage,” Draya says of Jackie’s power move.

The women present everything to Jackie that’s been said, repeated, fabricated and smeared around, but Jackie’s not having it and she’s thoroughly unimpressed.

At one point, Jackie attempts to clear her name by calling a third party to confirm exactly what was said on one occasion, and not only does she not dial, but Laura implies that her phone was actually upside down, proving that Jackie was either trying to pull another fast one on the ladies and lie about making the call, or she’s a grandma who’s never used one of these newfangled cellular phones.

Ultimately, Gloria explains “You are the common denominator between all the stuff that’s been started. We’re all on the same page and this relationship isn’t working.” “We’re breaking up with you!” Draya puts it more bluntly.

But because she can’t relent, Jackie makes the five women leave the restaurant, rather that just walking out herself.

“Everybody’s done with you. Like for real for good this time,” Laura says as they exit, leaving the crazy behind for good.* (*Until the reunion.)

Gloria has that basketball wives money now and fame. That was all she wanted Matt for anyway. It is so funny that the one person who told Royce that “She will never be a basketball wife and always a groupie actually turned into that herself” Amazing.
@in2it I COULDN’T AGREE MORE
I can understand that Gloria was hurt with a broken engagement, I would be too; that is a moment in life that can never be truly forgotten, and only time and God can heal pain like that; however I will pray that she gives him another try with Marriage: Proverbs 18:22 says He who finds a wife finds a good things, and obtains favor from the LORD, in Jesus name. everyone deserves a 2nd chance! Think about it Glo:)
I commend Gloria in her decision. For years she was focused on Matt’s career and put her dreams aside. Time for her to get back to “Gloria”. I think Gloria has learned; never say never. Poor Jackie, she is truly a mess and needs to make sure to take her meds at all times. She just can’t admit when she has messed up. She is truly a waste of space with her lying ass. The sad part is she doesn’t come off like she is “winning” instead she looks freakin crazy. Doug has truly done her a dis-service for being with her so many years allowing this woman to still be and act like a fool. I can’t say it enough, she is crazy, everyone around her knows it but afraid to tell her. Jackie reaching out to Mrs. Artest, only looked like a fool crying for help and when help arrived she continued to act a fool.
Jackie acts crazy. She talks and does not listen. She waited for her drink because as smart little Draya says, this is liquid courage. She keeps things up and never confronts like a real lady because she is nervous and frightened when things do not go her way. Jackie could benefit from a higher dose of her bipolar or schizophrenia medication. Married 3 times???? Thank God for sending her the stable Doug Christie, however you can tell that he is really stunned by her and sticks around to help stabilize things. Thank you Doug. I am glad that the women are so much smarter than what Jackie thought them to be. They are really presenting themselves in a different light. Jackie is very intimidated by women and insecure as demonstrated in the photo shoot of her fashions where her husband asked the young lady to move her throw her hair back. The comment back to him from Jackie demonstrated insecurity. She has mental and insecurity issues – - give her her liquid courage in a bottle and then give her ZYPREXA! To Draya and the other ladies, including Tonya – - Hats off for demonstrating that you are independent thinkers. Also, Bravo, if you are going to continue with Jackie, please get her some basic English classes – - she says that she is educated – - I think that she should have been left behind in English!
Give Draya a chance, promote her with Imani on a separate show.
VH-1 should do a montage of Draya’s funny azz interviews. She has some great one liners
What’s so surprising to me is that the ladies finally came together and figured out the common “snake” (oops! “denominator) amongst the drama…..and, they knew better than to talk with her one on one. I don’t even feel bad for Jackie because she was waaaaayyyyy too old to do what she did to those ladies. Then had the nerve to try to argue that mess and even say she was “mentoring”….WTF!! She just needs to own up to the fact that, none of the ladies had anything bad to say about one another until she put the “poison” in each ear, let it fester, kept adding to it, then it spewed forth and choked her damn self…..lol:o
the only ones i think who is pretty on this show is draya and gloria, im sad gloria and her man leaving eachother but hey, she can be my wifey. just joking. i don’t like jackie and i think she need an ass beating.
Draya better watch out for the rest of them. I would not get too chummy chummy with them after the way they treated her most of the season.
I think it’s interesting for all the girls to label Jackie crazy. I watched the whole season of Basketball wives and everyone is guilty. I admit Jackie is disrespectful, dominant, and loves drama, but the rest of the girls are just as guilty. For instance, Imani you called Draya worthless and you spoke negatively about her to the other girls. Laura you stated numerously you didn’t like Draya but yet you give her a hug and kiss every time you see her. Gloria you are just as guilty in the essence of how you judged Draya and what you said earlier in the season about Malaysia. All of you except for Malaysia tried to mess up Draya’s reputation. Before you label Jackie, please be mindful and reevaluate yourself before you start pointing fingers! No one is allowed to judge except GOD.
Haha Jackie makes me laugh. She is so messed up in the head and what is most embarassing for her is that she is like sixty. I literally laughed out loud when the photographer asked her if she was Draya’s mother. I don’t understand why she was so confused about that it’s a pretty justified question,, except it’s a diss to Draya. I also died of laughter listening to her talk to her husband after she got booted off the island. She is NUTS! NO one wants to be like her she’s so sad. I feel bad for everyone who gets trapped listening to her craziness. She is a walking contradiction. She has to tell herself over and over again that she is sooo super awesome but doesn’t let her husband even look at someone of another gender. I didnt like her from the beginning and was so excited to finally see her psychoticness get called out. Imani- LOVE HER. She is so cute and normal and really knows how to be a lady. Draya is freakin hilarious! Malaysia is beautiful and so is Gloria. All of these ladies really know how to carry themselves. Thank goodness they started being nice to Draya because she is a good person and I felt so bad for her when they were so mean. Laura, I must admit I really didnt want to like her when the show started but I really really like her. She seems like she would make a really amusing friend. I liked all the girls on this season so much better than the old BBW in Miami. These girls are so much more relatable and real.
I Love basketball wives OMG Jackie what happen, and Draya I got to admit i didnt like her at first with police records and baby drama, but she grew on people, but she was starting to fall in that web of jackie and that went wrong she let jackie manipulate her. Everybody fell in that web but Gloria dang! she had bigger and better things on her mind, if it wont about her sister she didnt give a hoot!!!…..sometimes. Malaysia and Imani yall was cool, but Laura was my girl and yea she did kept sayn that she didnt like draya and kept giving her hugs but she told draya that she didn even cross her mind and that she is not a factor to her anymore, but if draya felt that way why did she keep hugging her, why she didnt say naw back up if you don like me dont hug me. I think she was tryn to say hey at this point i dont like you but i do respect you.
