Did you know that the Do Something! Awards have a theme song? Well, I mean, they never did before but they do now, thanks to hosts Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson, and Lamorne Morris. It’s not good, but it’s something. Take a listen.
The Do Something! Awards air on Tuesday, August 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT right here on VH1.
Both Evelyn Lozada and Chad Johnson have remained relatively silent following the domestic dispute at their home in Florida on Saturday which left Evelyn with a head laceration and landed Chad with an arrest on his rap sheet. Now, Evelyn has released a statement addressing the situation, saying she’s “deeply disappointed” in Chad and she thanks her fans for their support. Her statement is below.
“It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.”

Some really sad news to pass along today: Evelyn Lozada‘s brother-in-law, Anthony Ochoa, 43, died from cancer complications last night. Evelyn was incredibly close to Anthony, who was married to her sister Sylvia, and he appeared several times on Basketball Wives throughout the past two seasons. Anthony also walked Evelyn down the aisle during her wedding last month.
In a statement she released to TMZ, Evelyn said “Anthony was an amazing husband, father, and brother-in-law. He will be dearly missed.” She also penned a letter to him on her blog, which you can read here. We wish her family the very best and our thoughts are with them at this time.

The five Do Something! Awards finalists (Seth Maxwell, Danny Mendoza, Manyang Reath Kher, Katia Gomez, and Meg Bourne are all amazing individuals who have spent a good chunk of their lives focusing on others. But sometimes even upstanding individuals need to let loose, have fun, and have great things come their way, which is why we love to see them all just chilling with Beyonce in the shot above. And we love that Beyonce took time out of her gorgeously photogenic summer to honor some amazing individuals. Also pictured second from the left is Valerie Amos, Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs at the UN. So what other A-listers will share the stage with our finalists? You’ll have to watch the Do Something! Awards when they air on Tuesday, August 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT to find out.

Last night’s Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta was so quotable that we devoted our recap to what the cast was saying throughout the episode. Turns out, they think they’re pretty quotable too, as most of them took to Twitter to discuss the show and joke with each other about what was said on air. In our weekly installment of the cast’s best tweets, here are last night’s funniest and most entertaining. Looks like even Erica loves Momma Dee‘s interpretation of b-i-c-t-h.
A devastated April is in mourning after her breakup with Reggie, and she’s sequestered herself in her apartment for two weeks. It’s a wonder Keisha, Raquel, and Morgan are able to find her when they barge in to make sure she’s okay, there are piles of take-out containers and tissues in her apartment that would make her a candidate for Hoarders. Therapy for Mimi, Joseline and Stevie J was intense to say the least. Stevie J couldn’t stand the heat in the kitchen so he left. After Joseline calms down she tells Dr. Jeff why she was so angry. Relationships are patched and some possibly severed, but all in all this episode was full of quotables. Some hilarious, others more serious. Instead of a full-on recap, we’re bringing you the best quotes from tonight’s episode, and please leave your favorites or whatever we missed in the comment section. Read more…
One of the reasons we’re so excited for the Do Something! Awards to air on August 21st is because we’re going through serious withdrawal of New Girl, one of our favorite sitcoms from last year. And since the DSAs are hosted by the men of New Girl (Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris, and Jake Johnson), and their promos thus far have given us a good dosage of what we love about them. Their insanity, which is masked by their cuteness.
In the clip above, the three battle to determine who’s the best host. Or should we say, Jake and Lamorne have a noodle fight to determine who’s the best while Max tries to mediate. The Do Something! Awards air Tuesday August 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
