Simon van Kempen Recaps Couples Therapy Episode 4: The One Thing You Never Say To Alex McCord Is…

Simon van Kempen Alex McCord Couples Therapy

This season on Couples Therapy, there’s a lot of drama in the house thanks to the incredibly diverse and occasionally divisive personalities that have been cast. One couple, reality veterans Simon van Kempen and Alex McCord, have offered to review and recap each episode of the season to tell us the truth about the way things really were and what they think of the therapy process. Today, Simon reveals the root of why Alex was so angry with him, what happened in the aftermath of her fall, and, yes, a few more insights about living with Courtney and Doug.

This week’s special Sunday episode of Couples Therapy opened with the aftermath (I dare not say ‘fall out’) of Alex’s slip, after storming out of the hot tub. After she palmed me away, I gave her a little space before then going into our bedroom to see how she was and offer an icepack. After she’d soothed herself in a hot bath she came back out to the terrace and we sat and quietly spoke. Earlier that day Alex had got quite annoyed that I was interjecting a lot in the group sessions when other couples were talking. It wasn’t so much that I was speaking that offended her, but Alex felt that by me speaking, I was inhibiting her from having her say as well. I had said then that if she wanted to speak she should, but Alex had censored herself because she didn’t want ‘us’ to be monopolizing the conversation and not give others a chance to speak. When Alex had gotten annoyed in the group session, Dr. Jenn had told her to ‘find her voice’. Any Housewives fan will have heard that particular phrase before and let me just say that saying it to Alex is akin to waving a red flag at a bull. Read more…

Evelyn Lozada Dark Hair
Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada stepped out this weekend for a Habitat For Humanity gala in Los Angeles and wowed fans with a brand new look. Trading in her caramel-colored hair we’re familiar with, she debuted a new, dark shade and we think she looks fab. (And a dead ringer for daughter Shaniece, too.)

Check out a few more photos of Ev hanging out with fellow basketball wife Shaunie O’Neal and let us know what you think of her new ‘do!

Jennifer Gimenez On Episode 7 Of Rehab With Dr. Drew: Loaded Souls

Jennifer Gimenez Rehab With Dr. Drew

Each week after Rehab With Dr. Drew, we’ll be talking to some of the staff on hand at the Pasadena Recovery Center to find out everything that went down in front of and behind the camera with this season’s group of patients. This week we spoke to our friend Jennifer Gimenez, the resident technician at the facility who had battled demons on her own, and she offered up her insight and some behind-the-scenes details for this episode, ranging from Eric running away and his emotional reunion with his mother, to Deanna‘s obsession with Tupac.

So in the aftermath of the gang showdown, once everyone returned to the facility, it was still pretty much just mayhem. What was going on with you that whole time that Eric was running and you were trying to prevent Deanna from walking out?

It was more important for me to stay with the group than leave and go looking for Eric, because you can’t leave the group alone. It was more important for me to talk Deanna out of leaving, and at one point I started crying and she looked at me like “Are you crying for me?” and I nodded and she was like “Oh! I think I’ll stay then!” They don’t show that, but I think she realized that people there were caring about her. The good thing was that they were all talking about what happened — even if it wasn’t the kindest words, but they were talking it out and starting to communicate what washappening because it was such a traumatic experience. While Eric was running, thankfully there were cameras that at least knew where he was. It was so traumatic, and a lot of people are asking me “How did you feel?” or “Why didn’t you have any protection?” and I really was in survival mode at that point, my mission was just to care for them. It wasn’t me trying to figure out anything about me until the night was done. Read more…

Chrissy And Mr. Jones Episode 5 Sneak Peek: Jackets And Vibrators

Chrissy Lampkin can’t win. She’s got enough drama in her life thanks to Jimmy, but after introducing her two best friends, Emily and Talia, to one another, that’s a whole ‘nother headache she never knew she’d have. The two women continue their rivalry/sparring session this week at dinner when Emily surprises the girls by pulling out a vibrator at the table. A vibrator that has Talia’s photo plastered across the label, which she endorses. “Emily was trying to be funny,” Talia says. “She pulls out the vibrator like ‘oh, I discovered this, I told you I would Google you,’ and I’m like ‘DUH.’ It’s a f—ing moneymaker!”

“You design jackets and you design vibrators,” Emily says, her confidence in Talia plummeting. But Chrissy’s getting tired of it. “Could you stop giving her a hard time?” she asks. But the hard times aren’t over. Watch the full episode of Chrissy And Mr. Jones when it airs Monday night at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Theater Nerd Alert! Les Miz Lovers Alex McCord And Simon van Kempen Sing “Master Of The House” To Us, We Can Die Now

We’re pretty nerdy over here at the VH1 Blog, and by that we mean that we geek out over things like the Les Miserables First Look video that was released back in September and we might have cried while watching it. Luckily, we have some kindred spirits in Couples Therapy stars Simon van Kempen and Alex McCord, who are self-proclaimed “theater queens” and have talked on Twitter at length about how much they love the musical. When they were in the VH1 office recently, I asked about their love for Les Miz and asked which roles they’d love to play themselves. And that’s when it got real. Because after a tiny bit of coaxing, we actually got Alex to sing a few bars from “Master of the House” once she realized her perfect role would be Madame Thenardier. I dreamed a dream, and it was this video.
