Shay Johnson is known for her explosive personality on Flavor of Love and Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, her on-again, off-again “thing” with Lil Scrappy and her close friendship with his mom, Momma Dee.

Never one to hold back her opinion, we recently sat down with Shay and she spilled the tea on all things Scrappy and what exactly they have going on off-camera.

We miss you on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta this season! Have you been watching at all? Are you still in touch with Scrappy?

Shay Johnson:
I watched a few episodes but I laugh because clearly Mona is not showing everything. I don’t hate her that I’m not on so far this season because they are still taping and there’s still time. And Scrappy? He’s still around. He’s always gonna be around. I’m not gonna tell you what we’ve been doing but I’ve been a bad, bad girl and that has not been shown on TV.

What’s the status of your relationship with Scrappy? Are you saying you guys are together?

Shay Johnson:
I’ve been friends with Scrappy for almost seven years now, so that just doesn’t go away. It’s an unconditional love that I have for him. He’s done a lot of dirty things to me and I’ve tried to hate [him] but it just doesn’t work. At this point I’m just running with whatever we got going on. He don’t know what it is; I don’t know what it is. We just know we love each other.

You and Scrappy have certainly had your ups and downs, what keeps you guys coming back to each other?

Shay Johnson:
[Scrappy] has a good heart. I could talk to him for hours. We like to do a lot of the same things. We are just two fun big kids. No matter how distant we get we somehow get back together. I’ll say every negative thing in the world about him to myself, but when I see him…it’s like melting butter. Like, nothing ever happened. I get this smile on my face. He knows he does that to me. We call each other Kryptonite. He’s my Kryptonite. I’m his Kryptonite. I know I’m supposed to stay away, but I can’t. It is what it is.

So I’m assuming you’ve forgiven him? How did you move on past the drama?

Shay Johnson:
[Scrappy's] done lots of things wrong to me publicly. He lied to me on national television – played me – but at the end of the day, what you didn’t see, he came and apologized and we were together and we opened up to each other and he broke everything down and he was very apologetic. I can’t hold grudges. It won’t get me anywhere, so I move forward from that incident to where we are now. And of course [he and Erica Dixon] still didn’t get married. They still didn’t get married like I said. That was stupid.

What’s it like being on Scrappy’s bad side? Does he have a bad temper?

Shay Johnson:
I’m not gonna say he has a bad temper, but if you piss him off, oh it will go down and he’s very protective of what he loves – his mother, his daughter – like if he loves you he’s going to protect you. So it’s not like he’s a bully or he tries to start any drama but if it’s brought to him, he’s gonna react. Period. Just like anybody else.

You’re real tight with Momma Dee but do you feel like her protectiveness over Scrappy has hindered his relationships with other women? You feel like she’s just hoping you wait around for him?

Shay Johnson:
Everything [Momma Dee] has said has come to pass and with several situations: his child’s mother, his little rapper girlfriend he was living with [Diamond] and whoever else he was dealing with – the “situations” now. But ya know, he’s a grown man at the end of the day and he makes his own decisions. You can’t tell nobody what to do. But don’t think I’m sitting around waiting or nothing like that. I’m doing me, he’s doing him. And you never know what will happen with Scrappy and I.

So officially, do you have a boo right now or are you single?

Shay Johnson:
I’m married to my work right now. I don’t have a boyfriend. When [my hairline] Shay J. Bliss gets up and running, maybe I’ll let somebody in. At this time the only person that has any possibility of coming into my life is Scrappy. That’s it.

Thanks so much for chatting with us! I hope you’ll pull a pop-up this season still.

Shay Johnson:
We’ll see. We will see. I’m willing to let everything out. It really depends on the network. So we’ll see.

I have to ask you before you go. Who was the better kisser: Scrappy or Flavor Flav?

Shay Johnson:
[Laughs] I would have to say Scrappy. Scrappy has kissed me everywhere. Flava has not.
