How Hollywood Stays Connected

There’s lots of drama in the office of David Newman, cool-ass film agent and dude who lunches simply to be seen. His assistant is quitting to work for his competitor, his clients are falling for the wrong partners, and his pals break up via text-message. Worst of all? He’s got the big-time hots for the agent who prowls the penthouse office.

Want to find out what we’re talking about? For the next six days we’re recapping our “Connected” series, one Webisode at a time. Here’s where you can find out more about the series, here are 10 Things You Should Know going in, and here’s episode 6: “NYE: Swimsuits Optional”

Connected: Make a Big Splash

conn.jpgEveryone wants to make it to Amy’s pool party - it’s the only way to celebrate New Year’s Eve. But in the last episode of our online saga, the gang can’t seem to arrange their plans. Everyone’s dialing up everyone else to make sure they’re on the same page. Amy needs Diego there by midnight, or else she “might have to start kissing the bartenders.” Emily and Jane decide whether they want to get dolled up in a rocker chick outfit, or a sexy cocktail dress. Quincy and Jane argue about the limo. David and Ruthie continue their nasty flirtations. 2008 starts with a wet and wild romp. No one will have a problem connecting this year.

Connected: Don’t Kiss the Competition

kiss-2.jpgIn the latest episode of Connected, rivalry turns into romance. Battling agents David and Ruthie get into a tiff that generates some steam, and concludes with some corridor groping, smeared lipstick, a dress hiked up, and a smile on his face. To quote Lindsay Buckingham, “that’s how they do it in L.A.”

There are other sexual maneuvers going on, too. British rocker Troy comes up with some lame-o lines to seduce Jane, who’s fearful that her 15 minutes are ticking away. There’s a quick victory for Emily, in her new job in Ruthie’s office - she lands someone we know as a client. Wanna find out who? Head to Connected.

Dark Comedies & Elevator Cleavage

SidekickDiego the filmmaker is having big trouble with the star of his movie, Amy. The script is too dark and her hair is too oily. David the agent is smitten with the newly-arrived Troy, a Brit movie star being wooed by David’s enemy, Ruthie. It’s doubly irritating because Ruthie caught David eyeballing her low-cut dress in the elevator and deemed him “Captain Obvious.” Yep, the “Shining Star” episode of our weekly Hollywood tale Connected has dropped.

On the inter-office front, Emily quits in a huff, and filthy rich Tiffany finds herself as David’s new assistant. First thing he hands her? A Sidekick. Gotta stay connected.

You Are My #1 Priority

connected_200x.jpgWe all know how fast things go in the entertainment industry. Careers explode, gossip erupts, hook-ups blossom nightly. That’s the world of our “Connected” mini series, which follows the biz and personal lives of several L.A. creative types. Remember last year’s episodes? Super agent David Newman was at the center of several rock and movie projects that found his roster of clients in various predicaments.

Season 2 starts up with the same kind of stuff - everyone using their Sidekicks to untangle both their romantic and business schedules. We’ll be dropping an episode a week for the next couple of months. Get connected with the gang.
