Congrats to you and the guys about the big win! God, I’m really not up on how the game is played, but I had a great time at the Super Bowl party I went to. It was hot. I was so impressed with the way you made that winning drive into the tight little end zone. Loves it! You grabbed the pigskin, clasped it tightly in your big hands, and just kept on pushing it forward over and over again. It seemed like the whole field was one big bed and you were in charge. Is it hard to keep that kind of drive going for a long time? Are you sweaty by the time you’re done? Are you doing anything this weekend? We should connect so you can teach me some of the rules. I know I’ve got what it takes to be the ball carrier, and would love to learn what a tight end can do. Some guys have even said that I’m a really good open receiver! And hey - what’s this I hear about a three-point stance? Text me, hon.
Yours, Paris
PS: Seriously, you better call. Don’t make me ring up Tom Brady!
Last Friday we plopped a handful of Super Bowl commercials in your lap, but here are the two that got the most laffs at our house last night. Between Missy Elliot nodding off and Ten Ton Ted hot-wiring his nipples, it was a swell game. Head over to Spike.com for a round up all the genius adverts. Read the rest of this entry »
The New York Giants shocking upset last night wasn’t the only Super Bowl performance worth noting, although it was certainly the most memorable. In slightly less stunning news, American Idol judge and 45-year-old pop star Paula Abdul returned, singing a song called “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow.” In a word: Awkweird. Although we are staunch believers in second chances, and know with certainty here at VH1 that second acts in American public life both exist and are de rigeur (Scott Baio is 46! Peter Brady is married! Bret Michaels is looking for love in all the wrong places!), Abdul’s lip-synching was awkward in the extreme. Fellow Idol judge Randy Jackson accompanied Abdul on bass. And more than one Internet critic has called for the return of MC Skat Kat. That would have been interesting.
The Pepsi Smash show is a mere four days away, and Maroon 5 are pretty psyched to play it. With a line-up that includes Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo, Adam Levine and James Valentine stopped by our Top 20 studios to chat about what they’re looking forward to. After some joking about their Grammy nominations (apparently the boys are nominated for Best Band Ever in the Entire Universe category — new this year) the Maroon Men gushed about Mary. Find out what they had to say.
