Slim Shady is now Sick Shady - the rapper landed himself in the hospital over Christmas with a serious case of pneumonia and a heart condition. Sources on the inside also report that Em’s weight has ballooned to over 200 pounds. His rep recently gave the official word: “Over the holidays, Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, was under doctor’s care at a Detroit-area hospital for complications due to pneumonia. He has since been released and is doing well recovering at home.”
We’re glad to hear he’s healing and kinda hope maybe he’s got enough material to inspire an album. Eminem’s been in hiding for the past year or so, and told Hot 97 in September that his projects were “in limbo.” Let’s hope for a speedy recovery of both his health and his career. [MTV News.]

On his next album, Eminem is said to be dusting off his favorite punching bag: Mariah Carey. The New York Daily News reports that a source close to Em has blabbed to OK! that “there is more than one track that goes into really specific, intimate detail about what went on between Em and Mariah.” Apparently, nothing notable has happened in Eminem’s life because he’s still talking about his supposed affair with Mariah, six years after he alleges it took place (Mariah has always denied any sort of romantic connection with the slim and shady one).
If this is true, Em’s seeming mighty desperate for material. Can’t he find someone else to supposedly have sex with and then rap about? Is Mariah’s sauce really that sweet or is he just wack?
After the jump, read a timeline of Em and Mariah’s epic feud…and you’ll see just how lame he is for still talking about this crap.

News about American Idol wannabe Kelly Clarkson’s feud with her label head, Clive Davis, continues to surface. The New York Post reports that the Grand Old Man of pop is furious that Clarkson isn’t listening to his suggestions about her music. We, on the other hand, have begun thinking that the lady doth protest too much. Frankly, if Clive Davis wanted to shut Kelly Clarkson down, he could. (To paraphrase Cliff Huxtable, he gave Kelly life . . . and he can take it away.) Since he hasn’t, we’re forced to assume that all this strife might all be a media stunt. In which case, it is you, dear public, who suffers.

The Shady One is back in the studio. After establishing himself in the pantheon of the singly-named pop stars and selling millions of records, Eminem all but disappeared for two years, popping up only to re-marry (and divorce) his ex-wife and guest on Akon’s record. But all that’s over now, as Em pal 50 Cent told Blender that Slim is back in the studio, working on new material. "He’s got a new album coming. He’s not gonna tell people that, but he’s making new music. I’ve heard a few songs, and it’s hot. He won’t tell nobody he’s working on a new album, but I’ll tell you: he’s working on new music."

Cam’ron and Myspace aren’t the only ones breathing down 50 Cent’s neck. Apparently, the hottest names in hip-hop and R&B all want a piece of him, too … as in the MC’s upcoming album, Curtis.
First, the producers: Dr. Dre, Eminem and Timbaland have all laid down tracks on the record, with one of the Dre songs, "Straight to the Bank," (listen here) already at No. 21 on the charts. 50 told BBC Radio’s Tim Westwood that big-name producers Kanye West, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz and Polow Da Don have stopped by the studio to guest-produce some stuff for the disc.
As for star wattage behind the mic, Eminem, Akon, Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger are all slated to guest.
Curtis is scheduled for a June 26 street date. You psyched?

Eminem and his ex Kim Mathers agreed in court on Monday to stop insulting each other publicly for the sake of their daughter, Hailie. Em filed a motion earlier this month to quash Kim’s trash talking — in February during a radio interview, for example, she called Em a "horrible person," joked about the size (or lack thereof) of his penis and implied that he couldn’t sexually perform without Viagra. Up until then, Em felt free to drag Kim’s name through the dirt via the media and his music — he went as far as to address Hailie directly in the Kim murder fantasy "’97 Bonnie and Clyde" ("Da Da made a nice bed for Mommy at the bottom of the lake /
Here, you wanna help Da Da tie a rope around this rock?"). Apparently, Eminem draws the line at the disclosure of secrets about his wang. What a guy. And there’s no place like court to reaffirm manhood, right, Em?
With this new ban on talking smack about Kim in place, don’t you get the feeling that Em’s upcoming album will need to be downsized to an EP? [AP/Yahoo!]
