Adam Lambert, Nick Cannon, Victoria Justice And More To Present At 2011 Do Something Awards

With musicians Demi Lovato, Foster The People and OneRepublic already announced as performers at the 2011 Do Something! Awards, this year’s show is shaping up to be the hottest so far! Now, we’re excited to announce that a stellar lineup of both musicians and actors have agreed to present awards at the show that’s airing on Thursday, August 18 at 9 p.m. ET. NEW YORK, NY (August 3, 2011) — DoSomething.org and VH1 today announced the all-star lineup of presenters including Kristen Bell, Nick Cannon, Jon Cryer, Victoria Justice, Adam Lambert, Mario Lopez, Rose McGowan, Olivia Munn, Keke Palmer and Lauren Potter for this year’s 2011 Do Something Awards airing Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 9:00pm EST on VH1. Hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch, the ceremony will honor and celebrate the nation’s best young world-changers who represent the pivotal “do-ers” in their field, cause or issue. Celebrities such as Lady GaGa, Justin Bieber, Prince William and Duchess Catherine, David Beckham, Scarlett Johansson, Russell Brand and Will Ferrell have been nominated in a variety of categories from ‘Do Something Movie Star’ to ‘Do Something Couple’ for all they have done to inspire young people.

Barbarella Breaks Up A Couple

Rose McGowan and her fiancee Robert Rodriquez have broken up, and guess what – no one cares! Rodriquez, director of Grindhouse and Spy Kids, left his wife to be with his muse Rose, but it looks like a film has foiled their love. Rodriguez had big plans of remaking the classic cult flick Barbarella starring his lady love in the lead role, but Rose – who previously starred in the show Charmed – wasn’t a big enough star, and studio heads balked.

Jessica Alba is now rumored to be favored for the part. Maybe Rodriguez should just try to date her. Who cares if she’s married – it didn’t stop him from getting with Rose! [NYP]

Rose McGowan – She’s Just Like Us!

In a recent interview with the newly relaunched RADAR magazine, Rose McGowan takes pains to prove that underneath that spotlight-struck skin, she’s just a normal gal. Line dancing while filming Grindhouse in Austin, Texas? Check. The refusal to accept gift bags at Hollywood events? Check. Inability to do her own hair? Check. Honesty about an inflated sense of entitlement?  Check! ("I do love it when I meet someone who works at a post office who’s a complete diva," says Rose. "It’s like, ‘At least I have an excuse.’")

Rose heightens the contrast between herself and the fame whores that dominate her industry with this gem of a quote:

"I’m not out at [nightclubs] hoping someone will take my picture. Mostly, I’m doing crosswords in the bathroom."

See, she’s so removed from Hollywood mentality that she doesn’t even realize that if she’d film herself doing that and then leak it onto the Internet, she’d give her career a major boost.
