Yesterday, the Twitterverse exploded when Justin Bieber was hit with a paternity suit by a 20-year-old Californian woman. Never mind the issue of statutory rape, we all started chanting “Maury!” as the Bieb-Father scandal overshadowed the hysteria surrounding KardashianGate. Enter Jimmy Fallon, performing as his alter-ego Justin Bieber, parodying JB’s hit “Baby” with what we predict to be an even bigger hit, “(It’s Not My) Baby” on his show, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Busting some awesomely accurate Bieber dance moves, Fallon makes a surprisingly convincing teen idol, and we guarantee you’ll be starting your day with giggles if you click play above…

If you were born before the year 1993, it’s probably safe to say that you don’t entirely “get” Justin Bieber. After all, you already graduated past the whole floppy-haired-teen-idol-unrequited-love-affair-kissing-posters-to-sleep-at-night thing and have moved onto other crushworthy objects of desire (Hello, Ryan Gosling? If you’re reading this, call us, beb!). That’s all about to change.

After clicking a link on our Twitter feed earlier today out of morbid curiosity, we were suddenly confronted with Bieber freestyling over the beat from Kayne West & Jay-Z‘s “Otis” on LA’s Power 106 radio station. By now, it’s clear that his singing voice has been irreparably changed by the onset of puberty, but his rapping voice? That’s something else entirely. The Biebs proves himself to be not just an adequate rapper but, dare we say, a skilled MC who’s able to spit pop culture savvy lines like “Thanked Jesus at the awards I’m never going to hell / Call me Zack Morris, I’m saving you by the bell” with bona fide aplomb. Maybe this kid’s 15 minutes aren’t going to expire anytime soon, after all.

Dancehall queen Robyn appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno last night in one of her signature boldly-colored get ups, singing “Call Your Girlfriend” from her album Body Talk (which she performed one night earlier at the O Music Awards). True to form, Robyn delivered a high energy performance complete with the amazingly infectious dance moves that she’s become famous for. With Robyn’s somewhat contradictory style—upbeat electro tunes paired with sad and darkly melancholic lyrics—”Call Your Girlfriend” is the perfect song for the broken-hearted; not only do the words let you wallow, the beats will have you dancing your blues away, literally.

When I was a child, my dad and I used to decorate the Christmas tree together and sing “The Little Drummer Boy,” so my nostalgic recollections have me a little bit miffed at Justin Bieber‘s new take of the classic Christmas carol. The Biebs teamed up with rapper Busta Rhymes for the tune—now simply titled “Drummer Boy”—for a remix of that’s fat-beated, bass-lined and rapped-over. A very strange incarnation indeed.

You have to sympathize with the girl in the video for “Mistletoe.” You’re getting some one-on-one time over hot chocolate at the café with your main squeeze Justin Bieber, when all of a sudden, some blonde girl comes out of nowhere and puts her hands on him. Don’t you hate when that happens? (“What was that about?” she mouths.)

Her insecurity seems understandable: after all, girls love Justin Bieber. The song, then, is his way of letting his “shorty” know that she’s the only one he wants to see under the mistletoe (or, for that matter, in a drop-top Porsche). How committed is our crooning lover? Enough to park in the middle of the street and sing until she puts down the book she’s reading (which just so happens to be New Moon) and finds the gift he’s snuck into her bedroom. That’s devotion, especially from a guy still young enough to get away with a line like “I should be playing in the winter snow.” Ah, young love!

Young artists, it seems, love Lil Wayne. Hot on the heels of Demi Lovato’s killer rendition of “How To Love” for VH1′s Top 20 Live, Justin Bieber has recorded his own cover of the single, which he shared via Twitter as a “happy birthday” message for the rapper. Bieber’s cover is a studio track, complete with double-tracked and backing vocals and his own guitar and percussion. Even still, Lovato’s cover (which, if you haven’t already seen it, is below) is one heck of a live performance. So we leave it to you: who covered it better?

When we heard that Justin Bieber would be recording a charity Christmas album, we thought nothing of it, because so many other artists have done the same before him—a trend that we do not expect will die out anytime soon. But when his manager Scooter Braun tweeted yesterday evening that the album was not only completed, but also comprised entirely of original songs, we sat up and took notice.

Original Christmas music has always been a single-driven endeavor, and the vast majority of the canon of non-carol Christmas music was written, and first recorded, in the pre-Beatles era (for lack of a better descriptor). We honestly can’t think of any major single-artist Christmas albums. (In fact, we can think of only three albums that even come close: Celine Dion‘s These Are Special Times, just under half of which was written for the release; Tori Amos‘s Midwinter Graces, which is one-half reworkings of carols and one-half originals; and the Quad City All-Star Christmas, which features holiday songs from all of the Miami bass groups that count producers C.C. Lemonhead and Jay Ski as members.) Partly due to the importance ascribed to the United Kingdom’s Christmas #1 songs, and partly because a deep investment in an album that is unlikely to sell well during three-quarters of the year is not necessarily shrewd, Christmas albums are usually label compilations, or full of covers of jazz standards and traditional songs, or EPs, or any combination of the above.

LIL WAYNE SPRINGS A LEAK, THREATENS TO KIDNAP BEYONCÉ
Where’s the beef? On Lil Wayne’s just-leaked Tha Carter IV, that’s where! According to Blackbook, Weezy’s new track “It’s Good” features this bar directed towards Jay-Z: “Talkin’ ‘bout baby money, I got your baby money/Kidnap your b****, Get that ‘how much you love your lady?” This is apparently in retaliation to a verse that Jay sung on “H.A.M.” that dissed Young Money. First Game disses Jay, now Wayne? Sh*t’s about to get real, son! [Blackbook]

JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT PAYS HOMAGE TO KURT COBAIN
The 20th anniversary of Nevermind is just around the corner, so Nirvana-mania is clearly in bloom (drum roll). At a concert in Seattle last night, the Inception star played a cover of “Lithium,” which he punctuated with this off-the-cuff dedication: “You know it seems like everytime people bring up Nirvana, people wanna talk about how Kurt Cobain killed himself. But I gotta say, it doesn’t matter to me. It doesn’t matter that he’s dead, it doesn’t matter how he died, his songs are f***ing awesome, that’s what matters.” [Everybody Loves Our Town]
