VH1 Classic Amps Up For “National Metal Day” On 11-11-11

VH1 is gearing up for our inaugural National Metal Day that will see VH1 Classic host an entire day of metal-only programing. Fear not, though: This day isn’t solely for hardcore headbangers! National Metal Day will see the debut of of several revealing documentaries about the genre, and will celebrate metal’s seminal artists, both past and present. Full press release as follows:

NEW YORK, NY – October 24, 2011 – As previously announced, VH1 Classic has proclaimed 11-11-11 as “National Metal Day” and will celebrate with a slew of exclusive metal programming, including three major metal premieres: Behind The Music Remastered at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the exclusive debut of Banger Films’ groundbreaking documentary series, Metal Evolution, at 10 p.m. ET/PT and the ninth season premiere of a VH1 Classic original That Metal Show at 11 p.m. ET/PT.

Def Leppard & Poison Unite: Tour Dates!

Where can you go this summer to hear “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” and “I Want You To Want Me” coming from one single stage? Plenty of places. Dates for 40-city North American romp that features Def Leppard, Poison, and Cheap Trick were just announced today. The action kicks off in Camden, New Jersey on June 23.

Def Leppard front man Joe Elliott is calling it the “rock tour of the summer,” and Poison singer Bret Michaels says each stop will be “a night of a 1000 hits.” Something tells us that there are tons of hard rock fans who are going to agree.

Live Nation produces the tour, and tickets go on sale March 6 at the Live Nation Website.

Taylor Swift Meets Def Leppard: Crossroads

CMT’s Crossroads is known for building unexpected bridges between a variety of artists. Bon Jovi & Sugarland, Maroon 5 & Sara Evans – there’s been some sweet match-ups. Tonight’s premiere of Taylor Swift & Def Leppard could be one of the best.
