“Moves Like Jagger” Video Premieres Online
Lots of quick cuts between file footage of Jagger himself, performance clips of Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera, a number of mostly-female, mostly-scantily-clad Jagger impersonators dancing—was that a boob? This one’s not going to clear our standards board without edits. [YouTube]
Sony Warehouse Packed With Independent Labels’ Stock Burns In North London
One of the many and far-reaching consequences of the civil unrest in the United Kingdom is the effect the destruction of a distribution warehouse will have on the independent labels who housed stock there. A follow-up report by Pitchfork suggests that physical losses will be covered by insurance, but many labels (listed in full in both reports) will simply not have physical stock to sell for the foreseeable future. Amy Lee‘s back from her honeymoon, and she’s pissed. Writing on her band’s official message board, Evanescence‘s lead singer is finally discussing the departure of her former bandmates. After two weeks away, Lee says she returned home to find "I was unable to defend myself for a week and was taken advantage of quite a bit." Lee then shares with her fans her version of Rocky Gray and John LeCompte‘s departure, claiming they were "miserable" and planning to leave, and that she simply relieved them of their duties a little sooner than they’d anticipated. "I treated both John and Rocky with nothing but kindness and respect, and I got nothing but jealousy and resentment in return…I love this band too much to see it driven into the ground." This is not the first time the band’s had some personnel issues. In 2003 LeCompt took over after co-founder Ben Moody suddenly quit, due to a rift with Lee.
Unceremoniously dismissed Evanescence drummer Rocky Gray is selling the six gold and platinum plaques he received with the band on eBay. Gray explained the decision as "just kinda cleanin’ house a little bit." Since management asked Gray to leave the band, along with guitarist John Lecompt, on May 5, Gray has been tight-lipped about his departure. Potential bidders will be happy to know that Gray, a.k.a. biggcrazy, has yet to receive any bids on the plaques (reserve price $500), though the transaction might be sketchy, as he’s yet to receive any feedback. In other Evanescence news, the band will continue touring with two new members formerly of Dark New Day, Troy McLawhorn and Will Hunt.

Evanescence continues to hemorrhage members — and the implication is that the feeling isn’t exactly mutual. Guitarist John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray have parted company with pretty little goth-lete Amy Lee. Said LeCompt, “There’s absolutely no loyalty in this band.” Gray concurs, though apparently he’s been served a gag order to keep him from talking. That hasn’t stopped him from sharing some of his feelings on his MySpace page, however: “The way they spin it, I’m not even allowed to say I quit the group, I guess. But the news is out there, so, there ya’ go. I need to have a lawyer read over all that mess to tell me what, when and how I can tell you all — the REAL FANS — what really went down, if I ever can, haha.” What do you think went down?

Now and then our Tour Survival Guide will check in with rockers about life on the road. Here’s lead singer Amy Lee on keeping her sanity with video games and tour hygiene.
When Bathing’s Not An Option
Makeup remover wipes and Wet Wipes in general. We’re constantly trying to refresh and get more. The tour is gross and you can only bathe half the time, and when you can’t bathe, you can always use a wet wipe. I always have to wear a lot of makeup on stage, so my face takes a beating.
Look Who’s Talking Now
Kirstie Alley came to a show recently — it was really cool. She said hi and we all took pictures. She was getting an autograph for her son. We all thought that was really, really cool.
