A little over a month ago, we announced that Pop Up Video would be making its long awaited return to the VH1 airwaves this fall. While we’re still waiting on an official premiere date from our friends in programming, we thought that we would share this with you guys: It’s the updated Pop Up Video logo!
Since we just did you guys a solid, maybe now you can do us one in return? Check out our brand new Pop Up Video Facebook page and, if you like what you see, feel free to “Like” us! Also, we’ll be using our Facebook presence as a way to get valuable (and, hopefully, hilarious!) content from you guys, the viewers, that we may end up including in the show itself. Just yesterday, we began working on our treatment for Britney Spears’ “Till The World Ends” by asking our fans “If the world ended tomorrow, I would _________ [fill in the blank].” Leave a comment and your reply just might end up on TV!
To help get you in the spirit, check out our old Pop Up treatment of Madonna‘s “Vogue” below (if you want more, check out this playlist, which also includes George Michael‘s “I Want Your Sex,” Paula Abdul‘s “Straight Up” and more):

As we all know, the Second Coming foretold in the Book of Revelations is due to arrive September 15, 1829 October 22, 1844 September 11–13, 1988 this Saturday, May 21, 2011, so it’s time to prepare for the Rapture. (No, not that one.) So, unless you get Left Behind, Kirk Cameron style, you have a limited time to listen to music! Which is why we have saved you some time by preparing playlists:
THE LAST FIVE SONGS FOR TRUE BELIEVERS by Nick Minichino
5) “The Man Comes Around” by Johnny Cash: In case you forgot what’s about to happen, this song is a handy primer.
4) “The Four Horsemen” by Metallica: The Rapture is going to be rough, so this track from Metallica’s 1983 debut Kill ‘Em All will get you in the right mental state for what’s ahead.
3) “B.I.B.L.E.” by GZA featuring Killah Priest: It’s an acronym for “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth”. Plus, it samples the Ohio Players! Nuff said.
2) “Sinnerman” by Nina Simone: It’s important to feel true remorse for those who will not be saved, and this powerful song will do the trick. Warning: if you feel any schadenfreude, that’s pride—a mortal sin—so be careful before you condemn anybody who won’t be coming with you.
1) “Jesus Is Waiting” by Al Green: Call Me, Green’s sexiest album, ends with this gospel precursor to R. Kelly‘s “Trapped in the Closet,” with the soul star and future reverend performing religious call-and-response with himself, and quipping “Save my soul, and I’ll save some for you.”

George Michael didn’t make a video as much as a pants-off dance-off for his song “Flawless,” from 2004′s Patience. Check it out, and stream George Michael’s TwentyFive a full week before it’s in stores!
What’s better than a George Michael and Mary J. Blige duet on Stevie Wonder‘s magnificent “As”? How about hundreds of Georges and Marys hanging out in a club, singing Stevie Wonder’s “As.” That’s right — in this duet, never before available in the US, Mary and George are dressed in their best, getting down on the dancefloor. Want to give the tune another listen? Don’t forget we’re streaming George’s brand new TwentyFive an entire week before its release. Enjoy!
It’s been a minute since we heard from Mr. Michael — but he’s back. Yesterday, we told you he’d be going on tour for the first time in fifteen years. Today, we’ve got George’s TwentyFive streaming a full week before it’s release. In addition to the hits, the double disc also has six brand new songs: “An Easier Affair,” “This Is Not Real Love,” “Heal The Pain” (duet with Sir Paul McCartney), “Understand,” and “As” (featuring Mary J. Blige).
In honor of George’s return, we’re rolling out a string of videos never before been available on VH1.com. You’ll see one each day this week. The first selection? “Amazing,” from 2004′s Patience.
Back in the day, arenas full of die-hard fans knew that George Michael was one of the most kinetic performers in pop. So of course they were bummed when he stopped touring for 15 years. Last fall he ended that hiatus by romping around European stages, bringing the hits and the new stuff to life. Now he’s headed to the U.S. After the jump you’ll find a list of the cities that he’ll visit.
And if you want to find out what that “new stuff” sounds like, be back at VH1.com tomorrow. The Leak is streaming his TwentyFive disc in its entirety for a week. While it’s heavy on the classic tracks, it’s also got six new titles: “An Easier Affair,” “This Is Not Real Love,” “Heal The Pain” (duet with Sir Paul McCartney), “Understand,” and “As” (featuring Mary J. Blige), which was previously unreleased in America. Might be a smart move to put “Freedom” on your fone to prepare for all this GM action. Are you psyched to see Mr. Michael rolling again?
