You know the old phrase “Watch what you eat?” While that’s just as important in 2011 as it has always been, it’s also important to watch what you tweet! Keri Hilson found that out the hard way yesterday, after sending out a tweet which said “*gasp* Amy Winehouse resurrected to party w/ me!!! (seriously, uncanny resemblance)” and included the above Twitpic. The tweet, while certainly not malicious by any stretch of the imagination, was definitely in bad taste, and a significant portion of @MissKeriBaby‘s 1.5 million followers let her know it, replying back with cries of “too soon,” “not funny” and other, much nastier sentiments that we cannot share with you here.

Hilson, to her credit, quickly recognized the error of her ways and tweeted out the following apologetic missives to her followers:

It’s no secret that we love, love, LOVE Keri Hilson around these parts. In addition to her volunteering to be our Posted artist for the month of November, Keri agreed to perform for the troops during our VH1 Divas show a few weeks back. So just imagine how psyched we were when she decided to pop by the offices just a few hours ago to say hello to us on the day that her new album, No Boys Allowed, hits the stores. In this exclusive video, we chat with her about how the process of making her second album differed from her first (2009′s A Perfect World) and why her record would make the perfect last-minute stocking stuffer.

We’re doing something a little different with this month’s VH1 Posted, which usually follows one artist’s every move through tour diaries, personal photos and video messages answering fan questions. For December, it’s all about the holidays. And it’s not just one artist this month. Nicki Minaj, Adam Lambert, 30 Seconds to Mars, Keri Hilson and more will keep you posted about their holiday season. Watch Mumford & Sons talk about New Year’s resolutions above and check VH1′s Posted site to get in the holiday spirit.

Entertainment Tonight hung out with us yesterday at rehearsals for VH1 Divas Salute the Troops and talked to the performers to find out what the show means to them and why they’ve decided to be a part of it. Aside from having always wanted to visit a base, Katy Perry said it’s not like a “regular” concert. “It’s a concert with heart and with purpose and I love doing things with purpose.” Katy’s Divas duet partner Nicki Minaj (SPOILER: They’re teaming up for “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”) is performing for her aunt, who’s a career army gal, and all troops because they “risk their lives for us.” Said Nicki: “This is definitely one of my most meaningful performances.”

Host Kathy Griffin, who became a veteran at entertaining troops by touring the Middle East, said the men and women in uniform “just want to let off some steam.”Judging by Kathy’s stand-up routine at rehearsals, we’re pretty sure she’ll help them let of plenty of steam when the show tapes tonight. (SPOILER ALERT TWO: Lindsay Lohan and Bristol Palin are definitely on Kathy’s hit list!) [Photo: Getty Images]

As we lead up to this weekend’s airing of the VH1 Divas 2010 special on Sunday night at 9/8c, we thought we’d give you a sneak peak at a sketch of the outfits that Keri Hilson, Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj will be wearing during the event’s opening performance. These dresses were designed by the renowned duo The Blonds, a hot fashion team perhaps best known for dressing Katy in her “California Gurls” video and making Miley’s giant peacockian bird of prey costume come to life in the video for “Can’t Be Tamed.” If these outfits look this cool in a sketch, we can’t wait to see the ladies wearing them on stage on Sunday night!

Be sure to follow @thefablife on Twitter all weekend long for VH1 Divas 2010 exclusive sneak previews of rehearsals, behind the scenes commentary and more, all coming to you live from San Diego.

While gearing up to perform for VH1 Divas Salute the Troops on Dec. 5, Keri Hilson swung by VH1′s offices to school us in fashion and take us through her outfit — from head to toe. We were a little bit surprised to hear the “Pretty Girl Rock” singer say she never likes to be “too girly.” Sure, we remember how stunning Keri looked rocking cut-off jeans and a wife-beater in the video for “Knock You Down.” But never?

“My fashion philosophy is to be myself, which is the tomboy within,” she says. “Even when I’m wearing heels there’s a certain masculine meets feminine factor.”

Even more surprising: the Grammy Award-winning Avon spokesmodel claims to “love” discount stores, including Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less and T.J. Max. “I’ll be looking through the racks right next to you,” she says. “And shoot you a smile.” Whoa, now that would knock us down. [Photos: Jen Marigliano]

VH1 Divas Salute the troops will air Sunday, Dec. 5 at 9/8c. Additional performers include Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Paramore, Sugarland, and Grace Potter& the Nocturnals. Keri’s new album, No Boys Allowed, will be released Dec. 21.

Hey there! Remember when we told you that if you asked VH1′s Posted artist for the month of November, Keri Hilson (aka @MissKeriBaby), a question, we’d pass it to her and she’s answer it? Well, she did, and the results are above! Remember, if you want to keep daily tabs on one of the stars of the 2010 VH1 Divas Salute The Troops show, it’s as easy as typing posted.vh1.com into your web browser. She’ll be here all month, don’t miss any of the action!

After spending the month of October riding shotgun with the boys in 30 Seconds To Mars, it’s time to bid the emo rockers adieu and say hello to our VH1 Posted artist for the month of November, Keri Hilson (aka @MissKeriBaby on Twitter).

Keri Hilson has been building her rep in the music industry for the better part of the last ten years, but it’s only been in the last few where she’s really blown up into a household name. Her collaborations with Timbaland in 2007 (“The Way I Are”) and Kanye West in 2008 (“Knock You Down”) were some of the biggest chart smashes of each of those respective years, and her starring appearance in Usher’s “Love In The Club” video has been streamed more than 41 million (!) times. As amazing as these past successes have been for Hilson, her biggest moments have yet to come.

If you watched VH1′s Divas last year, you may recall presenter Kathy Griffin being called a “fire-crotch” by host Paula Abdul. Now it’s Kathy’s turn to dole out the jabs. VH1 is announcing that the quick-witted “D-List” comedian will serve as host of “VH1 Divas Salute The Troops,” airing Dec. 5 at 9/8c. And she’s already promised VH1 that she “will not hold back.” Also announced: the rock quartet Grace Potter & The Nocturnals has been added to a lineup that already includes Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Sugarland, Keri Hilson and Paramore. Full press release after the jump.
