In a surprising turn of events, Kanye West has taken to his blog to praise an individual other than himself. After fellow rapper Lil Wayne’s record setting album sales this week with his Tha Carter III, Ye took to his blog and, under the headline “A MILLION HERE… A MILLION THERE!!!!! EXACT NUMBER 1,005,545!!!!!!!!!!!!!” stated the following:
CONGRATS TO MY HOMIE WAYNE. I’M HAPPY 2 KNOW THIS GUY!!! BOW IN THE PRESENCE OF A TRUE LIVING LEGEND IN HIP HOP… LIL WAYNE THE GOD!!!
It’s unclear as to how Kanye was allowed to discover evidence of someone else’s success, as his handlers attempt to keep him unaware, so as to prevent the childish tantrums he’s known for.
The video for Lloyd and Lil Wayne’s summer jam “Girls Around the World” has debuted, and as she told us last month, Flavor of Love 3’s Black is all up in it. She moves sensuously as light shines out of her eyes and…uh, that’s about it. But at least she looks hot! Not many girls pull off the laser-beams-from-the-eyes style with such grace. The web was buzzing yesterday over a rumor that Lil Wayne (whose new album also has mouths flapping) had checked himself into a Florida rehab. It’s not that far-fetched, seeing as Weezy often raps about his various drugs of choice and is known to be a fan of sizzurp. But a Cash Money rep’s only response to the rumor, when called, was “Hell nah.”
Meanwhile, Weezy’s ex Karrine “Superhead” Steffans sent Perez Hilton a frantic message today accusing her current boyfriend, Darius McCrary (best known as Eddie Winslow on Family Matters) of attempting to run her over with his car (among other things). Eek. Such serious stuff for the former lovers. Maybe they need each other now more than ever?
A few weeks ago, we asked you to submit your love and relationship questions to Lil Wayne. No question was too racy, no situation too complicated — the superstar MC would tackle anything.

Rock Star Lesson No. 6: Don’t keep drugs on your tour bus. Unfortunately, Lil Wayne had to learn that one the hard way. The prolific rapper’s tour bus was pulled over in Yuma, Arizona late last night when border patrol officials found a .40-caliber pistol, 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy and various drug paraphernalia. The DEA was immediately called, and Lil Wayne (real name Dwayne Carter) was taken into custody and charged with possession of cocaine and ecstasy. Two associates of Wayne’s were also arrested.
This is Carter’s third arrest in four months; previously he was taken into custody on weapons charges in New York, and for an outstanding warrant in Idaho.

Sunday was a bad night for two hip hop stars in NYC, after Ja Rule and Lil Wayne were arrested in separate incidents, both for being in possession of illegal .40 caliber guns. Ja Rule was the first to get busted when he was pulled over in his Maybach (a car so expensive and luxurious that you’ve maybe never even heard of it) for speeding. A quick search of his vehicle turned up the pistol and he and his two companions were arrested.
Only an hour later and a few blocks away, Lil Wayne was arrested after cops spotted him and another man near his tour-bus getting their toke on with some weed. His gun was also discovered, and the two men were charged with possession of marijuana and a weapon. Lil Wayne had just performed earlier in the evening at the Beacon Theater.
The two rappers are both currently awaiting arraignment at the Criminal Court in NYC. Word is the fashion police may also be filing complaints against the rappers - tiny moustaches and tear drop tattoos are in clear violation of trendy Big Apple fashion codes.
