American Idol: The Top Five Finale Performances

As many suspected (and Matt Drudge claimed to know), Scotty McCreery won the tenth season of American Idol. But the last results show isn’t really about the winner (especially not when there are two hours of programming to fill): It’s about the performances! And the finale had them in spades, including not a few surprises. Here’s what you missed:

5. Steven Tyler “Dream On”

The judges had varying levels of involvement in the finale performances. Randy Jackson made sure Gladys Knight joined the fantastic Kirk Franklin-Jacob Lusk duet “I Smile”, while Jennifer Lopez was content to dance as her husband Marc Anthony performed his salsa cover “Aguanile” (with Sheila E. killing it on the timbales). But Steven Tyler took the stage to perform his first hit with Aerosmith, and proved that his voice is as strong as ever (and that the song holds up just as well).

Video: Fan Yanks Tim McGraw’s Ring

Apparently Tim McGraw has got that “special something” that drives fans to totally violate his personal space. Earlier this week video surfaced of a lady-fan grabbing his junk (followed by a serious verbal beatdown from his wife Faith Hill), and now there’s a new clip of an audience member accidentally grabbing a ring off his hand during a concert. Tim, like his wife, doesn’t stand for it, and stops singing to continuously demand his jewels back. Maybe McGraw needs to put up some sort of barrier between himself and the audience when he performs – that’ll give Faith some time to teach ‘em all about class!

Faith Hill Is Getting Angry, And You Won’t Like Her When She’s Angry

Anybody starting to get the feeling Faith Hill might not be as mild-mannered as she seems? During Saturday’s stop on her Soul2Soul tour, Faith flipped out on a grabby fan who groped the junk of Hill’s husband, Tim McGraw. Incensed, Hill laid into the fan, screaming from the stage, “Somebody needs to teach you some class, my friend. You don’t go grabbin’ somebody else’s — somebody’s husband’s balls, you understand me? That’s very disrespectful.”
This isn’t the first time that Faith’s flown off the handle; this past November, Faith wigged out when Carrie Underwood snagged the Best Female Vocalist award at the CMT Awards.
