It’s getting to be a hobby of ours, skimming Twitter and other blogs and finding out which celebrities love Basketball Wives. In this week’s installment, check out this photo from Laura Govan‘s Twitter page of Laura and her co-star from Basketball Wives L.A. Imani Showalter hanging with Snoop Dogg on Saturday.

Laura tweeted “Snoopy’s I luv that U luv our show @IamMelissaImani @snoopdogg thank you for tonight! I had a blast!” and Imani tweeted the pic too, writing “Its a party, its a party, its a party!!!” Well of course, wherever Snoop goes, it’s a party.

The 2011 VMAs are airing live from Los Angeles on Sunday night, and the latest addition to the evening’s already-stellar lineup is Tony Bennett. The 85 year-old (!) will captain what’s sure to be an emotional tribute to recently-deceased singer Amy Winehouse. Introducing a slew of performers who are currently being kept confidential by the folks in MTV’s ivory tower, we’re excited to see that Bennett, who had recently collaborated with Winehouse on a duet due this fall, “Body and Soul,” will make an appearance on the notoriously youthful VMA stage. While the majority of the MTV audience’s demographic was not yet even a twinkle in their parents’ eyes when Bennett took home his first Grammy in 1963, this certainly isn’t the first time an elder statesman has been booked on MTV’s annual celebration of the year’s best music videos. Want to see what we mean? Check out our list of the Top 5 Oldest People To Appear On-Camera at The VMAS!

5) George Clinton, 52 Years-Old (1993): George Clinton presented the Best R&B Video award alongside West Coasters Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre in ’93. Then 52 years-old, the funk innovator and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee must have been pretty psyched to hand Moonmen over to the lovely ladies of En Vogue. And the Funky Divas were most likely equally as pleased!

4) Lou Reed, 54 Years-Old (1996): Making a cameo with house band(leader) Jack White of Raconteurs, Lou Reed of The Velvet Underground was well into his fifth decade at the ’96 Video Music Awards. Hosted by Dennis Leary, big winners that night included Coolio, Alanis Morrisette, and Smashing Pumpkins.

3) Diana Ross, 55 Years-Old (1999): Who could forget the jiggle heard ’round the world? When Mary J. Blige accompanied Lil’ Kim, Lil’ Kim’s breast, and Motown sensation Diana Ross to present the award for Best Hip-Hop in ’99, all hell broke loose! The then-55-year-old Rosstook it upon herself to, on live television, cup and jiggle Kim’s pasty-covered, partially-exposed boobie.

In the wake of his Violent Torpedo of Truth Tour, Charlie Sheen gave an extended interview to E! News (as opposed to his prior favorite news outlet, his now-defunct UStream channel) and premiered the re-cut video for the “rock version” of “Winning,” the track he recorded with Snoop Dogg and Rob Patterson. The song is available on iTunes (in both “rock” and “original” versions), and a portion of the proceeds will go towards Sheen’s new non-profit Torpedos Against Tornados [sic].

Two weeks ago, our sister site, The Fab Life, counted down the Top 25 Fictional Stoners in Cinematic History. Of course, it’s a lot easier to be famous for using an illegal substance if you’re not real. So we thought for 4/20 we’d honor (or at least acknowledge) some of today’s most vocal pro-marijuana musicians.

Wiz Khalifa
Khalifa’s big hit may be “Black and Yellow,” but he’s been pretty busy using much of the money, attention, and goodwill he gained from that song to rap about weed (though not, surprisingly, on his newest single “Roll Up”). His newest album is even called Rolling Papers. When even “The Lonely Stoner,” Kid Cudi, has given up marijuana, Wiz is holding fast, even writing a sidebar for Rolling Stone‘s Best of Rock 2011 issue, feting OG Kush as “Best Weed.”

“I told them to go home and make babies.”

Yep, that’s the always wise Snoop Dogg, on his instructions for Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s post-wedding life. The guy’s been married for-like-EVER (ten years, three kids!), so he should know. He also offered this tidbit of advice on how to make your nuptials last: “Communication, and being able to fight and get back up. To have misunderstanding and [then] get some understanding.”

For shizzle, dawg. [People]

Everyone know that Snoop Dogg is a fan of night-time dramas. But he digs himself some daytime dramas, too. He’s been written into the script of One Life To Live, and his appearances are scheduled for May 8 & 9. Plus, he’s going to do a remix of the show’s theme song to celebrated his on-screen action. His cameo includes doing a gig at the show’s Ultra Violet club, where he runs into an old pal. You know he did a gig for us, too, right? Watch the best parts here.
