Last night the internet was set on fire when some photos of Evelyn Lozada and ex-husband Chad Ochocinco were spotted holding hands and attending a dinner together. Before the speculation could get too far out of control (Are they back together? Did she really move back into his house?), Evelyn took to her blog today to discuss the situation and put a few of the rumors to bed. On her website today, in a post labeled “About Last Night,” she wrote:
I wanted to wish you a happy and safe New Year and take time to address a few rumors and unanswered questions about last night. It seems as though things have gotten a wee bit out of control.
I attended a dinner with Chad’s daughter, not only because I love baby girl like my own, but to support Chad and his fan appreciation dinner. While at the dinner, several photos popped up on the Internet of Chad and I holding hands, while in the process of blessing the food. The blogs made last night seem as though, we walked hand and hand into the restaurant announcing a reunion, which wasn’t the case.
I care for Chad, we are friends and we love one another, however, we are still separated, not living under the same roof and working on ourselves because we have a long way to go. This is a normal and realistic process for anyone and I don’t know what the future holds for me, but I know God holds it and I’m taking things one day at a time. I appreciate the love from so many of you and right now I’m still working on becoming a better person. Chad and I are attending therapy separately, meeting with a Life Coach and trying to figure out how to work on our individual selves and navigate through this entire ordeal.
I wanted you to hear this from me and only me because I would rather you know the truth, than assume.
So there you have it. You can put your speculations aside and enjoy your 2013 knowing that there’s still some love there, but like everyone, they’re works in progress. For now, though, there’s nothing new to report.
Evelyn Lozada released a statement earlier today regarding the recent events that led to her eventual decision to file divorce papers against Chad Johnson, and now, Chad has released a statement of his own.
Accused by Evelyn of domestic violence, Chad was arrested on Saturday and was later released from his contract with the Miami Dolphins as a result of the arrest. On his website, OCNNReport.com, Chad offers and apology to fans and professes his love for Evelyn. He writes:
“I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies. I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life.”
The pair was married on July 4. Their TV show, Ev and Ocho, which chronicled the event, has since been pulled from the VH1 schedule.

Immediately after writing a statement to her fans claiming that she is “deeply disappointed that Chad [Ochocinco] Johnson has failed to take responsibility for his actions,” we have learned that Evelyn Lozada has filed for divorce from her husband of forty one days.
According to TMZ, Evelyn filed papers in Florida today citing that her marriage is “irretrievably broken.” It’s been a tumultuous, emotional week for Lozada, in addition to her marriage trouble, her brother-in-law Anthony Ochoa also passed away last night.

Both Evelyn Lozada and Chad Johnson have remained relatively silent following the domestic dispute at their home in Florida on Saturday which left Evelyn with a head laceration and landed Chad with an arrest on his rap sheet. Now, Evelyn has released a statement addressing the situation, saying she’s “deeply disappointed” in Chad and she thanks her fans for their support. Her statement is below.
“It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.”

As you’re probably well aware, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson was arrested on Saturday night after a fight with wife Evelyn Lozada which resulted in a laceration to Lozada’s forehead. The couple was married on July 4 and their wedding plans were being documented for the upcoming series, Ev and Ocho, but in light of these recent events, VH1 has decided to cancel the series. The network’s statement regarding the decision is below.
“Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series ‘Ev and Ocho’ from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.”

In a recent interview with Radar Online, Evelyn Lozada opened up a little bit about her wedding, which was filmed for her upcoming show, Ev And Ocho. Though she couldn’t divulge a ton of details (we wouldn’t want to spoil the whole show for y’all), she did reveal one detail that not many other people can lay claim to: There was an actual earthquake on her big day.
“There was an earthquake on our wedding day!” Lozada said. “We were in the Caribbean on the island St. Maartin, I didn’t even think they had earthquakes there.” In addition to the act of God, Evelyn also hinted at one other atypical detail, that there may have been some exotic wildlife as part of the ceremony. “I can’t say if we had any wild animals there, that was a huge bone of contention and you’ll have to wait and see it on the show,” Evelyn hinted, but we all know Chad did want to go the unconventional route with the wedding, so anything is possible!
Evelyn also mentioned that in addition to Basketball Wives and Ev And Ocho, she and Chad will be featured on the HBO series Hard Knocks, which will film the Miami Dolphins during their training camp this fall. “We’ll definitely be featured in Hard Knocks,” she says. “It’s very different to Basketball Wives but still lots of fun, its just all related to football.” We have so much Ev and Ocho-ness to look forward to! And in the meantime, enjoy yet another one of their wedding photos, hot off the presses, above.
