One of the best parts about the Do Something! Awards was seeing just how many people participated in an event that raised awareness of so many wonderful causes. And yes, the celebrity guest list was insane, but there were plenty of people working behind the scenes to make sure everything went off without a hitch, from the rolling out of the blue carpet, to the rehearsals, to the reporters covering the show, it took a village to pull this show off.

And since we at VH1 had a lot of our villagers working backstage at the event, we have some pretty awesome photos from before, during, and after the show that you won’t see anywhere else. In our gallery below, check out rehearsals featuring Foster the People, blue carpet moments with Demi Lovato and Kim Kardashian, and Jane Lynch hamming it up next to…Jane Lynch.

Huge congratulations to all the winners at the 2011 Do Something! Awards, which aired August 18 on VH1, especially to Sarah Cronk, the 18-year-old founder of The Sparkle Effect and winner of the evening’s $100,000 grand prize. Cronk (pictured above right with Glee star Lauren Potter) was in good company at the awards show, rubbing elbows with fellow winners Justin Bieber, Sophia Bush, David Beckham, and Will Ferrell, among others. The show featured musical performances from Demi Lovato, Foster the People, and OneRepublic featuring B.o.B. and some hilarious moments courtesy of host Jane Lynch — the full list and photo gallery of winners, plus a few shots of our favorite moments are after the jump.

NEW YORK, NY (July XX, 2011)DoSomething.org and VH1 announced today that Demi Lovato, OneRepublic with B.O.B. and Foster the People will perform as part of the star-studded 2011 Do Something Awards. Hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch, the ceremony will honor and celebrate the nation’s best young world-changers who represent the pivotal “do-ers” in their field, cause or issue. Celebrities such as Lady GaGa, Justin Bieber, Prince William and Duchess Catherine, David Beckham, Scarlett Johansson, Russell Brand and Will Ferrell have been nominated in a variety of categories from ‘Do Something Movie Star’ to ‘Do Something Couple’ for all they have done to inspire young people. Many will be on hand to accept and present the awards at the show which will air Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 9 p.m. EST on VH1.

The show will mark the first time Demi Lovato will perform her hit single “Skyscraper” live. Her fans played a big part in making this performance happen by enthusiastically tweeting the word “Skyscraper” to @DoSomething multiple times over the last month. Lovato is also nominated for two awards in the Do Something Charity Song and Do Something TV Star categories.

“If you are expecting anything less than ‘wow,’ you’ve got the wrong award show. We are so psyched to have Demi’s first public performance, a hot break-out band like Foster the People, and expect OneRepublic with B.o.B to be very loud!” said Nancy Lublin, CEO and Chief Old Person of DoSomething.org.

The 2011 Do Something! Awards are right around the corner, but host Jane Lynch seems to be a bit confused these days about exactly what show it is she’s hosting. As you can see in the brand new promo above, she thinks that she’s signed on for the Do Someone awards, but after entering that URL in her browser, she quickly realizes her folly.

Don’t forget, there’s still plenty of time to vote for the 2011 Do Something Awards, which will air on VH1 on August 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. As an added incentive to vote, we’ve got another brand new Jane Lynch promo to share with you below. This time, it involves Jane and a treadmill. We think you can guess where this one is heading.

The 2011 Do Something Awards nominees have been announced, and we have the full list of nominees and links to the voting pages below! Voting begins today, so make sure you cast your ballot in each category.

This year’s show is going to be hosted once again by Jane Lynch, and if the promo above is any indication, she’s going to kill it onstage. Only she can get away with getting a jab in at the Mob Wives while also making a plea for social change.

The awards will air on VH1 on August 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT —read on for more information on the show and all the nominees.

Calling all young people under 25 who are tackling a problem in the world. It’s your time to shine. The Do Something Awards is accepting applications for 2011. The big winner will not only get 100k for their cause, but also participate in the live broadcast of the show on VH1.

Last year, the event was hosted by Glee‘s Jane Lynch and featured appearances by Megan Fox, the Jonas Brothers and others. Of course, the real star of the night was last year’s grand prize winner, Jessica Posner (pictured above), who founded a school for girls and community center in Africa’s largest slum. In addition to the grand prize, five nominees will be rewarded with a $10,000 community grant.

Applications close March 1. Apply or nominate someone today at DoSomething.org/awards.

We’re in the stretch run of preparations for the the 2010 Do Something Awards, airing live on Monday, July 19 at 9/8c. And, believe it or not, we need your help! Got something that you’ve been dying to know about either the awards or its host, Jane Lynch? If so, tweet your question to @VH1 — be sure to include the hashtag #DSAwards — and you might just get a special shout-out during the awards. Yes, that’s right, Jane be answering some of your tweets LIVE during the awards show! And nothing, we repeat nothing, is off-limits.

Speaking of things that aren’t off-limits, you should really take a look at two of the latest promos that Jane shot for the Do Something Awards. We’re not saying that she has an inappropriate relationship with trees, exactly, but we also aren’t saying that she has an appropriate one, either! See what we mean, below.

We’re so psyched that Glee‘s Jane Lynch agreed to be the host of the 2010 VH1 Do Something Awards, set to air live on Monday, July 19 at 9/8c. With the ceremony only a few weeks away, the first series of promotional spots were just released a few minutes ago. See the two hilarious spots here first before you see them on-air!

Above, Jane talks a motorist into getting a sexy car wash from some, um, “bikini-clad hardbodies” for charity (and literacy!). And below, Jane Lynch talks about her personal philosophy to “Love life, live love and give like a motherf*$#@^!”
